The reborn aspect of 3rd Edition dragonborn is not part of the lore behind dragonborn in 4th Edition. also true... i'll have to figure in trying to make them their own race... that'll be the tough as hell part... all in a dm's job though, right? lol
as far as the monsters go, when get this group going, the bestiary will be out, so all i gotta do is replace them. i was just thinking more along the lines of the characters like shelu, or foxglove, and the rest of the npc's that they either have help or fight and can't be found in the bestiary, ya know? but yea, i guess just the cmb/cmd is all that really need to be figured, other than a few skill adjustments.
even though 4th ed has the 'base' stats for playing a dragonborn, the format given in 3.5 was much better done, since it gave players an option of what they started out with. however, how would they fit into the world of golarion though, since bahamut isn't presented? further more, could the dragonborn also be a starting 1st level class? has anyone done anything yet?
I'm preparing to run RotR with a group that (hopefully) will get formed up soon. the only thing i'm a little confused on is how npcs are currently stated in the books, since it was printed before the corebook came out. has anyone redone some of the npcs or changed any of their stats much to fit better with the corebook? or am i better off redoing them myself?

But not anytime soon. so would that mean that it would all be compiled in one book containing just #1-6, or would it also include the background/articles of the cities pertaing to RoTR? that is if it were to happen...
i'd almost go to lengths to say you could be one of my best friends in disguise... 'hippie liberal' quoting grateful dead... anyways, yea, more than likely i'll end up just bringing the corebook with me to my old group and say 'here. we're playing this tonight.' 1 more month till i'm back stateside, aw-right giggity giggity

I personally don't mind it. in actuality, it's kinda handy if you get someone else who knows the adventure as well. i had that happen in a group of mine in which we had a new dm (i was helping him out cause i desperately wanted to play), we got into a encounter and something didn't add up right as to how it was happening. everyone else knew something was up, but i was the only one who could tell. we worked it out (it was actually a rule misunderstandment that caused it) but when i ran the same one shortly after, and everyone knew this, i of course ran it differently, and the guy who dm'd it prior sat there and had ideas hit him as he started going 'i should've done that!' and 'why didn't i think of that?' the only warning with that is you gotta make sure that nobody meta-games. (reason my future dm in a month or so loves me... i play ultra stupid with a mod i've read or played)

I very much agree to that. but yea, the best and easiest way to find a way to get into it better would be to find your local game/hobby store. your best bet would actually to go to a comic/card shop. just look up any stores online or (please don't smite me great gods of paizo) go to wizardsofthecoast.com and they have a shop locate option there. that's how i found the group i eventually will begin playing with when i get back stateside. trust me, being in the military and trying to game is much easier when you locate the local comic store. (btw, anybody else in el paso that games and reads this, a very rare occurrence i know, let me know and i'll get something up when i get back!)
everything i've seen said so far are all great choices with what you want to do, whether it's 2x2 pcs, or if ya'll are comfortable with a dmpc, but a suggestion i may add if you only end up sticking with just the 2 pcs, on pg 30 of the pf corebook has a really excellent option i've seen for games... the level advancement table with 3, not one, but 3 different paths to gain levels either slow, medium, or fast (i'd suggest the fast-track option for two pc's...just me) |
