New to the boards so not sure if this is the right place for this or not, but I am seeking advice on class path for my character. We are currently in the dam in the Hook mountain portion of the campaign. (not looking for spoilers on future paths of the campaigns as I like to be surprised.)
Currently, I am one of 2 fighters in my group consisting of a scout, 2 fighters, favored soul, and rune mage. My character is a goliath (ECL 1) with 6 levels of fighter who uses the spiked chain. The group is level 7 but advancing to level 8 before our next game. This is where I am running into some dilemas. I am very happy with my character, but want to add some flair to him so that he is not your normal fighter type.
I have been looking at different classes, but am not sure if they would help or hinder me since I am already a level behind the group with my ECL from the goliath race. I was looking at the Duskblade, but my WIS is only 13 so would not have access to the higher level spells. I like the Warblade class, but would never be able to use the 9th level manuevers in a level 20 campaign. Thought about druid for the animal companion, but with level 1 druid the companion would be too weak to do anything and would die in 1 hit. My backstory does not allow for berserker class as I was never able to find my rage in the tribal training grounds. I really like the Beastmaster PRC, but don't meet the requirements. I really like the swift action benefits of the Warblade and the Duskblade class and trying to find something to work with that on.
I have the usual feats for a fighter with a spiked chain. Combat Expertise, Imp Disarm and trip, combat reflex, Exotic Weapon Prof (Spiked Chain), Power Attack, and Wpn focus (Spiked Chain)
Any advice on tweaking my toon to be more diverse would be appreciated. Maybe I am missing something in the classes that I listed that could be a benefit instead of a hinderance for me.
