How campy or comic-booky is the feel of this game? Is it like a Saturday morning cartoon or more like a Stephen King novel in its approach to the idea of supernatural powers? Or is it more like Venture Bros. where it kinda pokes fun at the genre? I'm trying to get the flavor right in my character concepts.
Wait, though. I'm not the GM, but if I were... A success means he'd be likely to see you as the best target. Raises would increase that effect, making it harder to resist hitting you. But in this case it's a critical failure. I would handle it by making her punctuate her taunt with a loud and embarrassing emptying of her bowels into her pants as everyone holds their breath, waiting to see his reaction. This would result in the room erupting into a combination of disgust and laughter. Bo'asha would lose face in the eyes of everyone in the room. She would have to do some work to get people to take her seriously. So, the taunt fails and she suffers ill consequences.
I've been enjoying reading what's been posted thus far and have been itching to jump in, but I have had no time to read the core book. I know they've made some pretty huge changes to magic, so I need to refamiliarize myself with it before I build my character. If I still haven't posted mine by Sunday, I may just have you help me build him.
Whooooo!! So far I'm leaning toward playing a dwarven wizard who has the crazy idea that if he gets good enough at controlling fire magic, he can undermine the Hellfrost and turn it into a new dwarven kingdom. Or at the very least, he can mine it for riches. ..he'll also become defacto king of the dwarves, because no one would be able to stop him, but.. one step at a time. |
