Darie blinked, and eyed the metal rod again, unbelieving. "Lathander... preserve me." She whispered, as she slowly felt the surface of their latest discovery again. Was that even possible?

"Stand back, I'm going to try something..." She announced, anxious to the hairs. She stepped up to the very edge of the mold she could still bear the cold, and held out the thin metal device. "Avees.... kaleeeesh" she breathed, the sounds deep within her chest. The metal rod started to vibrate slightly in her hand, and a thin grey-blue line of energy flew from it, and struck the mold-covered floor before her.

"Well done child!" Tyrion looks at Darie with new admiration. "That is quite remarkable. Where did you learn such talents?"

Following the rest of the group into the workshop Tyrion starts to look around.

search roll to see if he finds anything interesting 1d20+3= 18. IC is down still so I rolled manually.

Kessel nods, "I said it was ghoulish, I make no apologies for that, but remember Darie, this poor fellow might have been us. Better tragedy happen to our predecessors then us. That doesn't mean I can't feel pity for this poor soul, perhaps we might later place his bones in the soil so that he might return to mother earth, but this, this is a competition, survival of the fittest, and so it goes that some must die so that we can live, and some must fail so that we can succeed. We will honor his sacrifice by learning from his failure."

Tryion peers at the remains of the explorer, "I still believe it unwise to move his remains. You don't know what has been calling them home. He has been here so long that he is now part of the natural order down here. It might be a different matter were he to have fallen in the last day or so." Tyrion will not push the subject further if everyone else is set on doing something else with the remains.

Tobin wrote:
"I'm not sure," Tobin says. "They might be tools of some kind, as they seem to have been stored here with these others. Perhaps they have some magic in them? What do you think, KC?"

If Tobin is willing Tyrion will take a minute to look at the items. Here is a list of 20 d20 rolls. The first one, from the top, is for a Knowledge Arcana roll 1d20+3=22. This is the link here.

"Everyone come have a look in this next room." says Loriel walking into the ajoining room. "There is an interesting carving in here. What do you make of the arrow symbol on his amulet?"

Tyrion wanders over to where Loriel is to have a look. "That is most interesting." Turning to Loriel, "What do you think it might represent?"

Male Halfling Druid 1

"Perhaps I can take a look at them."

I don't have detect magic memorized for today but maybe Knowledge Arcana can gleen a little information. I don't have access to IC at work so someone can roll for me. I think when I get home I will have IC roll a bunch of d20's so they will be all ready to go as needed.

Kayos is it possible to save some of that brown mold?
Oops sorry, I forgot the boards ate my first response to this. As brown mold effects a person when they get within 5 feet of it I'd say it'd be impossible without some sort of protection from the cold.

Got it, thanks!

Male Halfling Druid 1

Kayos is it possible to save some of that brown mold?

"Be careful Tobin. You don't know if there is anymore mold around here."

Male Halfling Druid 1

Tyrion smiles at Kells for his kind words,"I'm just glad I was here to help! I didn't think we would find anything so dangerous so quickly. Do you think it will be like this throughout the entire cairn?" Looking past Tobin to the skeleton that lies there Tyrion says,"Perhaps we should leave him where he was found. You don't know what you might be disturbing by moving him."

is it possible to remove some of the brown mold and keep it for later use? I don't have access to IC today and will be out of the office as well. Kayos if you could make any appropriate rolls for me I would most appreciative. If Tyrion doesn't feel he can safely remove and store the mold he won't even try. My hope is that I can use it in some alchemical concoctions.

Male Halfling Druid 1

Tyrion quickly moves over to Kells and Loriel doing what he can to help them healing check 1d20+5=19. "Come with me you two and sit over here a moment and let me take a look at you." Tyrion removes some fireseed from his bag and crushes them in his hands. "Here breathe this in deeply. It should help warm you a bit." While attending to Kells and Loriel he studies the mold from a distance knowledge(nature) roll 1d20+9=27.

Male Halfling Druid 1

Looking a little nervous as everyone starts falling into position Tyrion says," It sounds like you are all very experienced in this sort of thing. I shall do my best not to let you down."

Darie thankfully took some of the eggs and mushrooms, smiling widely. "Tyrion, you are a saint. Thank you so much, i was just about to shrivel to a rasin if i had to eat nothing but stale cheese, dried pork, and dried fruit for another day."

Chiming in on the topic of discussion, she added. "We also encountered some strange creature. All muscle with no... well, "natural body". An eye on either end. Very strange. Kadath insisted we try to reason with it, but in the end, it came down to a fight. Nasty bugger."

Smiling at Darie Tyrion says,"You are most welcome. I like to make it a point to start each day with a good breakfast." Finally helping himself to some roasted veggies and eggs he sits down to listen to Darie explain about there encounter with the strange creature. know(nature) roll 1d20+9=10 yech! "Let me think on it a bit but I don't think that I have heard of anything quite like it. And you tried to reason with it you say? So you were able to talk to it?"

Male Halfling Druid 1

Tyrion wakes up early feeling refreshed from the long hike to the cairn yesterday. survival roll 1d20+7=23 He ventures outside looking for breakfast and finds some mushrooms, eggs, various herbs and wild vegetables. As the others prepare for the day and discuss their plans for exploring the cairn Tyrion serves everyone. "Yes I agree that we should explore the cairn to it's fullest. Can you tell me what you have discovered already?"

Male Halfling Druid 1

Smiling at Tobin,"Daggerford Delvers is it? Quite the clever name! And thank you again for your hospitality." Tyrion gestures around him,"It may not be a palace but it serves its purpose."

He turns to Kessel,"Maybe it would be a good idea to send word to your sister. Just to let her know you are alright."

Looking at the group assembled around him Tyrion asks,"So are you giong to be going back into the cairn?"

"I seek fuel and life for my music," Kessel says, speaking with his hands, and very much acting like an orator and story teller, "stories to tell, experiences that will improve my skills as a bard. Knowledge and song that I might share with my patrons to shorten the journey and quicken the night. I have no political aspirations. I don't want to be head of anything, mayor of anywhere, I don't even want fame or riches, living a quite life with my music, good food and wine, and perhaps a wife and a healthy brood of children would suit me just fine. Morra couldn't be happy with that. She needs to lead. She was born for it. She lead the way into the world and she's been looking to lead even sense."

Upon reflection Tyrion says,"It is true you do not share your sisters ambitions but ambition can take many forms and travel many avenues. Chasing ones dreams can be an ambitious venture if those dreams are difficult to obtain."

After the introductions of Kessel's friends are done Tyrion nods and smiles."It is good to meet all of you. My friend here is Loriel of the Bronzewood Lodge. I know not why Loriel has traveled here but I found myself intrigued by the rumors of interesting..."wild" life in the area. I came to see for myself what creatures might inhabit the cairn. I am greatly interested in what you can tell me of this "eye" creature you happened upon." He quietly sips his tea as he waits for their reply.

Male Halfling Druid 1

1d20+3=22 for a knowledge (local) roll to see if i know of a Morra

"Now that you mention it i do seem to remember a woman of that desciption. I am myself newly inducted into the circle. You two do share a striking resemblance to each other. You say she is the ambitious one yet you are here and she is not, eh?"

Male Halfling Druid 1

"Thank you for your offer. It is most appreciated." Tyrion gathers up what wood he has found and follows Kessel to their camp. When they get there he starts making a fire for tea.

"Your sister sounds familiar but I can't say that I recall anything in any great detail. But tell me more about this creature you encountered. It sounds as if you barely made it out the cairn with your life!" Once the tea has been brewed he offers some to any who wants it.

Male Halfling Druid 1

Tyrion looks apologetic for a moment,"I'm sorry I think I misspoke. This isn't the Whispering Cairn is it? I believe this one was looted long ago and the only thing you'll find down there is worth far less than any trouble you may find."

That was an honest mistake on my part. I'd forgotten there were two cairns. oops!

He motions motions down the road,"There is another cairn not to far from here called the Whispering cairn that I am travelling to. I've been told there are some interesting creatures there that I would be most interested in seeing."

Kessel wrote:
"We were indeed," Kessel says, anyone from Bronzewood lodge will recognize his deep rich voice, "but I fear we haven't had much luck. It seems as though the place was raided decades ago. We were just about to return to our camp, tell me, were you planing to try your luck in that place? Perhaps we should compare notes."

Looking at Kessel he asks,"Excuse me my good sir but you sound very familiar to me. Have we met before?"

Male Halfling Druid 1

Kayos & Loriel:

Spoiler:
Leaning close to Loriel, Tyrion whispers, "It seems as we are not the only ones out for stroll on this beautiful day."

Tyrion approaches the people coming up from the cairn. He looks everybody over as he gets closer noticing that they appear to have been having some difficulty down below. "Hail and well met gentlefolk! Have you been looking within the Whispering Cairn?" Tyrion stays a respectful distance from the strangers until they have been properly introduced.

if anyone looks like they could use some healing I'll go ahead and tend to them as soon as it seems ok to. also depending on the time of day Tyrion will set up to camp for the night

Male Halfling Druid 1

Kayos & Loriel:

Spoiler:

With Loriel out for the moment can we assume that we continue down the road to the cairn?

Male Halfling Druid 1

Loriel & Kayos:

Spoiler:

Tyrion smiles at Loriel and says, "Well it is such a beautiful day I thought I would take a walk to the Whispering Cairn. Some of the other members of the Lodge have talked about some interesting creatures that live in that area. I would love it if you joined me. What do you say?"

He doesn't seem to be caring much more than a day pack and what looks like a knotted club.

Male Halfling Druid 1

Loriel & Kayos:

Spoiler:

Tyrion approaches Loriel saying, "Hail and well met Loriel. It's a beautiful day for a stroll is it not?"

Male Halfling Druid 1

Hello all! Looks like I going to be the new healer for the group. Judging from the adventure so far it looks like I might have my work cut out for me!

Kayos:

Spoiler:

I still need to add equipment to Tyrion. I have a background in mind I just need to write it down. Basically he'll be a widower who's wife passed away from natual causes last year and the local druid circle took him in. That's the gist of it and I'll flesh it out more later. I wanted to take a look in UA to see if like any of the variants there before finalizing him as well.
Coming from Bronzewood seems like the easiest way to get things going so I'm on board with it. I'm trying to think of a reason for him to want to go check out the cairn. If I think of something I'll let you know.

Here's my druid. Let me know what you think.
