"I think the tour's over!"
Tychus snaps up his crossbow. He identifies the sword as being the main threat. He aims for it and lets fly a single shot.

"I'm surprised this thing is still... functioning, after all this time. Should we ask it some questions?"
Round 6 Tychus staggers unsteadily to his feet. He looks up at Xallis and manages a smile, blood streaming from somewhere above his brow. A tooth is missing from his bottom row. "Hearing your voice is music to my ears right now... I thought I was going to die down here all by my lonesome." He awkwardly reloads his crossbow. Something in his arm pops and Tychus winces in pain.
Round 5 Tychus continues to backpedal, refusing to further show his back to his enemy. He activates his holy powers to help him take down the large foe.
Round 4
With the huge Elemental bearing down on him, Tychus carefully casts Expeditious Retreat on himself to put some distance between him and his enemy.
Round 3
Tychus takes a cautious step back as the Elemental looms around the corner. He aims his crossbow at the green glowing eyes, regardless of the effectiveness, and lets loose.
Round 2
Tychus does his best to remain calm, as the maze stretches beyond him, seemingly infinite. The beating of his heart is drowned out by the loud footsteps of something nearby. Dust settles upon his shoulders, only to be cleansed away by his Alabaster Trapping. "Wasn't I already at this intersection? No, that can't be... Can it?"
Tychus casts a spell and then peers down each new passage before returning to the center.
"I couldn't begin to guess what these designs mean. Perhaps we are meant to light the braziers?"

Kalbio says, ”I don’t know anything about being a baron, but I promise that I’ll do my best. You’ve given me a second chance at life, so I’m not going to waste it.” "I'm glad to hear that. It's the least we could do. Had we acted more quickly, maybe we could have prevented what happened... But all that is in the past now. What is important is that you are here, now, to take your rightful place as Baron." ”By the way, I have a small favor to ask of you. In the coming days, it would be my honor if you’d help officiate ceremonies to mark my official first day of managing my barony.” "It would be our pleasure." He gives Kalbio a polite bow. ”In addition, if any of you are willing, I would gladly name each of you baronets in my service.” "That is a mighty fine offer. My duties are first to Abadar and Taldor, but if I can manage it, I would gratefully accept your offer. As long as you don't mind someone who doesn't really look the part..." He sheepishly rubs his patchy beard, wishing he had more forethought to have a proper shave and clean before attending the ceremonies. Later Tychus humbly enjoys the festivities, humming along to the music and enjoying the local food. He tries his best to shy away from the spotlight, but does end up entertaining some of the younger members of Breezy Creek by showing off his customized crossbow. On the shoulders of Breezy Creek, Trevor sees Tychus in the crowd. The caydenite smiles and offers a silent toast to Abadar slayer over the roars of celebration. Tychus responds by happily raising two full tankards sloshing with ale towards his friend.
I should have a post up in an hour or two.
"Kalbio's death has weighed heavily on my conscience. Ever since that fateful day in Oppara, I keep asking myself if we could have done more to protect him..." Tychus retrieves a pouch from his belt. He lobs it onto the table and a few gold coins scatter out. "These funds should cover the cost of bringing him back to the Material Plane. And it might help ingratiate ourselves to the locals. Could make them more receptive to our efforts here."
Might seem a little odd, but Tychus has been harboring some guilt about Kalbio's death. Is paying someone to cast Resurrection (or True Resurrection) technically a possibility? I think I have enough gold to cover the full thing.
“Uirtamon II ruled slightly more than two millennia ago—that’s plenty of time to forget a monument—and his administration took considerable pains to scramble the public records, and the Choking death hit Kazuhn particularly hard. Many families who may have known the tomb’s location lost grandparents and parents, and with them much of their oral history.”
"What do we know about the Choking Death? Mayhaps it was conceived to further conceal the Tomb's location? Not that the knowledge would help us in any obvious way. I'll consult the history books available to me with the Church of Abadar and see if I can glean any extra hints."
Tychus could use an upgrade of his Cloak of Resistance (from +2 to +3), Ring of Protection (from +2 to +3) and Mithral Chain Coat (from +3 to +4). I don't mind paying full price since it will be complicated to coordinate these upgrades with Xallis and the other party members who also need upgrades.
Persona Phase Tychus can be spotted over the next several days hoarding scrolls and book alike, stashing them in his unkempt room. Those times where he could be found in the communal dinner area were spent trying not to fall asleep. After several sleepless nights, he finally exits his room, triumphantly holding some official looking papers aloft. The papers contained a myriad assortment of legal paper trails attempting to legally discredit some of claimants to the Throne. With these, Tychus hopes to make Eutropia's ascension less painful.
Tychus patiently waits next to the Summoner, helping him to his feet once he was ready to do so. "Are... are you sure this is something you are capable of meddling with?" Tychus gives Xallis a hard look. While his features are severe, there is a hint of concern for his friend's safety. He hears the man out, nodding along, but offers no more comment on the matter, preferring to trust him in these regards.
I've gone through and assigned myself an item or two. I should have my Persona Phase up by tonight.
"Of course, milady," Henrika hastily replies. "I only bring it up because some of Maxillar Pythareus's supporters believed that his claim was superior to yours. But I suppose doubt will always follow those who stand to gain from the former High Strategos's rise." Embarrassed, she realizes that she was close to encouraging the Grand Princess to fabricate documents, and that Eutropia must distance herself from such nefarious activities. Such counsel is not seemly, even in private, she chides herself. Tychus folds his arms over his chest and leans on a nearby wall. He inhales loudly while ruminating. "I'm certain Eutropia's candidacy for the Throne will be made obvious. Both her male family member's are not of sound mind. We can hope the Prince will eventually regain his wits, Abadar willing, but there are no guarantees that will happen. And we have the advantage that few know that they yet still live." When you ask Carrius about what he remembers, he says, “No, all of that is a blank. I remember being dead like... like the feeling of a breeze on a hot day, sitting in the sun, with the smell of leaves in the air. But coming back... I don’t really recall any of it.” "Fret not, young lad. You've been through much. No one really understands what has happened. But I'm sure we will eventually get to the bottom of this mystery." Tychus gives Carrius a sly wink and produces a fresh shiny apple from his cloak. He lobs it gently to the boy.
There's a slight tremble in the summoner's voice. He takes a moment to calm himself before replying to Henrika. "I can make that trip. There's room for one more, but the two of us can see it done." "Since you have the capacity, I wouldn't mind joining you. I'd feel better knowing both the Grand Prince and Eutropia herself are safe and reunited."

Tychus fights off both the urge to kneel before the man and the urge to subdue him. He does his best to fend off the ineffective attacks without causing the Grand Prince any harm in return. He half-heartedly blurts out: "My Grand Prince, please, cease this at once... This doesn't befit a man of your position."
Unknown to almost everyone, Grand Prince Stavian III, survived the Exaltation Massacre despite his grievous injuries. I certainly did not see that coming! Wow...
Should we continue exploring counter-clockwise? So maybe 6A/7A next?
Tychus fixes the three prisoners with an icy stare, invoking the power of Order and Law. In these chaotic days, one can never be too sure.
Henrika considers Rafien's response. "Would you agree that it would be fair to imprison them where you are now? As the temple is now empty, I think it would be best if we left someone here to tend to it, for there are those of our number who follow the Master of the First Vault. We would not wish for devotion to Abadar to founder in your brothers' absence. Would you be willing to take up the mantle? Or has your treatment entirely driven you away from your faith?" Tychus nods along to Henrika's words. He fishes from his belongings the golden key to the golem. "We also can't simply leave this here unattended." He lets the key dangle freely between his index and middle fingers. The nearby light glints softly off it's surface. "We need a man of good convictions to watch after this place in our stead. The Coinfather has seen your faith and saw fit to send us. Come, brother, we will get you into some decent clothes."
Round 4 The Guardian of Coin continues it's onslaught, attempting to gouge into more of the surrounding Templars.
Tychus reloads his crossbow in the the eerie silence, his brain attempting to substitute for the sounds it thinks it should be hearing.
Round 3 The construct begins spinning it's arms, a flurry of claws and metal. Simultaneously, more chunks of speeding gold erupts from it's chest cavity.
With only one shot left in his cartridge, Tychus shifts his attention to the Templar flanked by Trevor and the construct, hoping to knock his weapon out of his hands.
Round 2 The construct trundles onwards to the assembled Templars, it's gears and pistons clanking ominously.
Preferring not to deepen the schism between himself and the other members of the Abadaren faith, Tychus elects to shoot at the oncoming Zelekhut (Blue) instead.
I'll have a post up around roughly 3pm EST. Manipulating the map from mobile has certainly been an experience. Haha.
Round 1
With naught but a word, Tychus sends the golem out to run interference. It clambers noisily forward, ejecting pieces of shredded gold at the nearest Templar.
The crossbowman follows up by turning to the party. He invokes a spell that visibly sends pangs of pain across his body. "Here, this should help with suppressing the constructs regeneration."
Tychus would graciously accept using this gift. I'm still limited to mobile, so bear with me over the course of the next few posts.
"Even if we were to burn these, the original copies are likely out there somewhere. It would do us little good... I agree with Henrika. Eutropia should see them, all things considered."
Tychus gives the cleric a bemused look and let's out a brief chuckle. "Take care not to drop it! I wouldn't want to be the one to report such an accident to Princess Eutropia." 36. Treasure Vault "Dignity here can deliver some decisive blows against the construct if needed. But there must be some way to bypass it without having to resort to violence. Trevor might have the right idea of using the Rod?"
Round 2 Fighting through the pain from the constructs attack, Tychus responds with his own. He sends several unerring bolts past his allies and into the construct.
Round 1 Tychus continues his route around the room. As he runs past the smoke, he spots a mechanical figure. Using his momentum, he attempts to jump past it, hoping the smoke and his speed obscures his approach.
I'll be leaving tomorrow for a cruise vacation (I'll be back on Feb 2nd). I'll have my phone on me, but I'm not sure what the reception will be like.
Surprise Round Taking care to cover his nose and mouth with the crook of his arm, Tychus makes his way through the smoke and around the room, hoping to eventually get a clear shot on one of the constructs.
Patrika responds with disbelief. ”Maxillar was arrested? On what charges? That is indeed the High Strategos’ ring, but anyone could have taken it from his finger. What proof do you have that you are Lion Blade agents or have any authority here? Assuming your claim is true, why shouldn’t I slay you here and now out of retribution?” "Murder? Treason? Conspiring with evil outsiders? Take your pick. He is guilty of all of them and more." Tychus vaguely waves his hand through the air as he lists out each of Maxillar's crimes. "We have evidence of his misdeeds in the form of several missives penned by no other than Maxillar himself. And we also have the dagger used to kill his old tutor when she discovered his true dark side. He has been conspiring from the shadows to obtain true power by fabricating a war with Qadira."
"I also agree. Regardless of what happens further in, keeping Maxillar in custody is our top priority." Tychus goes around the room, plucking intact crossbow bolts from the corpses of the loyal guards. He casually wipes the blood off of one on the guard's tabard.
Do we want to go in guns blazing through the rest of the fort, or do we want to use some subterfuge/diplomacy?
As Maxillar is soundly defeated by Henrika, Tychus swaps his attention to Kane.
Henrika was still at 88hp because she didn't take any damage from the thunderbolt spell thanks to Astounding Avoidance. Taking 20hp damage from the lightning arc puts her at 68hp. Since she didn't have to activate her Mesmeric Mirror yet, I could activate Astounding Avoidance again, but I think she is wary of Pythareus's counterattack so she will save her immediate action in case she needs it then.I missed that. There are so many things to keep track of. I'll fix it. Another shout out to GM Peachbottom. You are doing a great job. I certainly appreciate the efforts it takes to stay on top of all this madness.
Round 4 Entrusting the Trophy Room fight to the remainder of his allies, Tychus skirts the room, avoiding the outstretched limbs of the various taxidermied animals. With nothing but a single shot remaining in his crossbow, Tychus stops by the doorway and takes aim at Maxillar. But with his lungs screaming for air, and his hands unsteady, he instead decides calls upon Abadar once again for aid.
Once she is placed between the High Strategos and the stairs, she draws herself up to her full height (or rather, Baron Astor's full height). "Lieutenant Kane, the High Strategos has admitted his terrible crimes committed in vainglorious pursuit of the throne. We are capturing him to stand trial in Oppara. Your loyalty does you credit, but you would be well-advised to stand down. Elsewise we will treat you as his accomplice, and history will remember you with his misdeeds." "Just surrender, lad. We needn't shed more blood on Abadar's holy grounds..."
Tychus hunches down and sprints towards an open spot along the outer walls.The circles along the outer wall are the life-size taxidermized monsters. You can't walk through them but Tychus can still get to the same spot he wants to be with some zig-zag movement so it's all fine. But I did want to clarify. Tychus forgot to put his glasses on today. He's bumping into all sorts of things in here, haha!
Round 3 Narrowly avoiding impalement by the newly arrived half-orc, Tychus hunches down and sprints towards an open spot along the outer walls. Realizing he isn't well suited for taking Maxillar in alive, he swaps his focus to one of the guards .
Round 2 Shaking off the fear that gripped him but a moment ago, Tychus shouts a prayer to Abadar, beseeching his god to bless his crossbow. "Wealthy Father, we are here to right the many wrongs of your wayward follower. Grant me the skill I need to see this through!" With a holy glow, Dignity's Barb begins to thrum with power. Tychus gingerly brings up his weapon and aims at Maxillar, knowing that his bolts will be guided through the melee in front of him.
Icabhod and Tychus both ran through a locked door. You can't go there. I'll adjust your movement when I get a chance to post unless you beat me to it. Woops! My apologies :(

Round 1 Panicked by the sudden roar from Maxillar's armour, Tychus follows Icabhod's lead and makes for the nearby doorway.
