Between 13-30 May 2015, this GM #1866, ran Defenders of the Nesting Swallow, of which was my character's 4th CR. the event code was 61986 and his signature looks like a cursive letter "M". I did not have the date on the CR and it has not been reported to the Paizo system. How can I get this reported and updated in the system, or at the very least learn the date of the Session, as the sheet in hand is more valid than the electronic record. Thanks for the help - Oliver Ollie Desanson - WarPriest of Desan, CL5
@Michael...your are correct 'harmless' vice beneficial, however the base question was, if the limited wish, wish or miracle could remove it, could they also be used to alter the curse from "harmless" to "harmful" - using the conservation of energy theory, that is easier to alter than remove. In addition, I do think the baneful effect of this curse would apply to ANY "harmless" spell cast upon the bearer of the curse. I believe the spirt and intent of the curse is baneful and thus only complete removal using the fore-mentioned spells can be done. But, hey - if 8pp can get me SR 13 against harmful spells, I will spent it, plus selling the curse location for two gold to boot <evil grin> Thanks ya'll for your comments - and remember to begin ALL your wish casting with, "I wish, with no ill effects to myself not my allies, that..."
Thanks Andrew <G> yea the curse specifically indicates only a Limited wish, Wish or Miracle will remove it. The curse grants SR 5 plus user CL (in my case 8) against beneficial spells. i will need to spend 8pp to have it removed. I was just toying with the concept that if it takes a the power of the fore mentioned spells to remove, could those same spell alter nature of the curse to its opposite. I figured the writers wanted the curse to be very difficult to remove and did not take into consideration of a creative solution. Even in a home game, would probably rule that the intricacies of the curse could not be changed - only unraveled. Agree with you on the potions and wands, and I like your insight on the use of Heal vice Remove Disease and Neutralize poison. Thanks again.

SPOILER - The curse provides SR to beneficial spells being cast (I assume either by me or by someone else). My thinking is - if a limited wish can remove the curse, then a limited wish should be able to change the condition of the curse from beneficial to baneful effects. Using the logic of least amount of power used (that old adage when dealing with such magic, easier to teleport a magic sword than to create one). In my case I am removing the entire magic just changing the conditions. Honestly, I think I do not hold any hope to gain such a BOON in the PFS. Additionally, how would potions or wand effects work? I am guessing they either work, or they are calculated by the minimum creation level, CL3 for potions and CL5 (or >) for wands depending on the spell to provide a base number to add to d20 to overcome the SR. Personally, I just going to spent the Prestige Points to have it removed, Still I like the ideal of twisting a curse into something worthwhile using the same power listed to remove it.
Received a curse at requires a limited wish, wish or miracle to remove. Without spoilers, if I have to use the a limited wish, or wish - can I instead change the condition from a baneful one to a beneficial one? As a Cleric of an Evil deity and LN, I justified my profession because of the need for me to heal other folks (although i still use tiny needles to heal them <G>. So changing to interrogator is a better option not to freak out the kiddies. hey sigh, enjoyed the thread shame we lost.
There have been extensive discussion over last few years on the more expedient use of a wand, during movement or in combat. Handy Haversack, allows storage and requires only a move action to retrieve (without Aoo), the wrist sheath-spring allows swift access (but a full round to re-set it). I was wondering if there another thoughts on storage of wands and Rods on a belt of Blinkback belt. i envision a move action to draw (or a Quick Draw Feat - would speed this up); followed by a standard to activate, then a free action to drop it (then it teleports back into the Blinkbelt at the end of my turn); or a move action to replace into a belt, folds of the robe, Handy Haversack or what not. Most of the debate seems to be around wether a wand can be classified as a weapon, as one reported being stabbed for 14 points, while confused is a resounding yes. As the Blinkback Belt specifically mentions Melee weapons. Basically, I like to get a nice smooth quick buff going without it costing me a ton of time. Maybe there is something I have ever looked in the magic gear department, or when the Qadria fire sale was on <G> Suggestions / Comments?
Yep, Joe you right, so I will advice my buddy either get past it, or take a dip which will not provide the lv 3 Finesse Training weapon selection (Shortsword) which gives the Gladius the DEX bonus for damage. If he takes the additional feat for Martial it will not join the Gladius as it not tagged with the Short sword class - no worries, save why the F! am I still up - ggggrrr. Thanks again Guys I really appreciate the feedback <G>
Thanks guys for the fast response, as for the mention of Hero Lab adjustment, was for a way to make changes if the Dog Slicer was approved, and not waiting of the Hero Lab to update. As far as comparing the two weapons, both are more alike than dissimilar - both have 1d6, 19-20/x2; fighter weapon group: Light Blades; class light; Martial Weapon Like I mentioned before the differences is DS = fragile vs Performance and Slashing vs P/S and of course the cost. Just more curious why one and not the other. I think another confusing point is the Dog Slicer is also described as a Short Curved blade. And my buddy is wanting this with his Wayang who happen to have played the We Be Goblin series with me. So its a trophy of sorts to him. Thanks again for the info.
I see under the Unchained Rogue, they can use the Gladius so why can they not use the Dog Slicer? It has the same stats, save the Dog Slicer is cheaper (8 vs 15 gp) and the Dog Slicer is a Slashing weapon. Having played We Be Goblin series and having access to the Dog Slicer, I thought it would be nice flavor to use it. However, its not listed on the Unchained Rogue's weapon listing and I also use Hero Lab, which I can override the Dog Slicer use. Thoughts anyone?
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
10. What is your most treasured possession?
Ok, reckon I count my blessings. Although I find it odd that a purchased watermarked version would not be allowed when, other purchased PDF are allowed for source reference. I know apples and oranges, source vice rerolls. Non-the-less, I ordered mint and non-mint products and I have plenty of shirts. Thanks for the quick response, I also double checked this years PFS Guild and yep it states, no PDF, Photocopy or printout. Hvy sigh
I have a Purchased PDF Character Folio, which was printed out and bound from Staples, and was told today at a core game, that I was not allowed to use it for rerolls, and I needed to buy the non-PDF version. My PDF, has the required watermarks as posted back in 2013, has there been a recent change to using PDFs with watermarks? Thanks
Maybe this is a question for another thread, when a paladin uses the detect evil (especially as the quick scan on one target using his movement) is this obvious that the paladin is scanning or can it be done on sly? At Dragon Con this past year I got into a heated debate over the action and it seemed the GM role played the character to be personally offended by the paladin's action.

Roger that, I will look into it. I run in a circle of geeks so some of them may be part of PFS. I have lot of role playing experience, jsut new to the PFS. I already downloaded a few of the mods to prepare for possible playing over there. Thanks Mike
Thank for the help, I will bne on one of those good bases, not that it is not dangerous at times. Once i get there and check out the internet, which is fairly good, just on a a back-bone that is not US governered. and the rates are about 100-175 for higher bandwidth. I was hoping to test the Pathfinder MMO, but it all depends on my aailablity and bandwidth.
What about the Ultimate Combat - Dimensional Agility Feat? It allows you to take your additional actions remaining on your turn. I took this feat while specializing in the Focused Arcane School - Conjuration - Teleportation, ph 147 Advance Player's Guide. Which replaces the acid dart power with Shift (Su), the ability to dimension door as a Swift action, not provoking an Attack of Opportunity. This allows my 1st level character to get out of or position myself in favorable positions. The range is Line-of-sight and and increases with levels. |
