Turrey, of course, is quite at home in the spotlight. He is happy to tell the tale of his, Bellaluna's, Félicité's, and Gregoth's heroic travails. He tells it frequently over the next few weeks, and with each telling it grows more colorful and grander.

He stays on in Galt to help ensure the destruction of the blades. When Félicité proposes a guillotine memorial, Turrey is excited about the idea, and suggests that they commission a craftsperson to modify the blade so that it appears to be in the process of transforming into roses. At the dedication of the memorial he sings a new ballad that he's written (with a piano on hand, so that Félicité can accompany him). While he's still working on one about their heroic victory over the worm, this one is something else: a tribute to the spirit of the people of Galt, one filled with conviction that Galt itself shall blossom again with art, beauty, trust, and kindness. He includes a verses about those dead who we must honor, and the first is about Félicité's departed husband Camille. Another sings of his own former flame, Thibeault the potter, whose death brought Turrey to Galt.

He stays on for a few more days after the memorial, but eventually hears the call to move on. Before he does, he finds each of his companions and says adieu with a kiss, and his hope to see them again. Then he flies off on his carpet to sing the praises of the Eternal Rose–and to spread his ballad of Galt's budding redemption–across nations of Golarion.

Thanks so much for running this! I had a blast too.

In hindsight, I overestimated my knowledge of 2e, and I appreciate all of yours' patience with me. It was fun to bring Turrey to life in this game, and I loved seeing how each of you as breathed life into your characters.

Pudding, leading a high level game like this is extraordinarily difficult, and you did a great job at the helm! Thanks so much for leading us through it.

No need for PFS for me; I haven't ever played in sanctioned games.

When it dies, Turrey has a stabbing pain in his head and a sickening feeling in his heart and calls out, "Eternal Rose, please protect me!"

Will: 1d20 + 31 ⇒ (20) + 31 = 51 Phew!!

...And for a moment he swears that he can feel Shelyn kissing his forehead, and he feels at ease.

Turret again finds himself compelled to sing the a Worm King's praises. Finally, the dissonance between his lips and his heart are too much and he breaks free, sending another arrow toward the monstrous worm.

Turrey feels a stab in his brain, and for a horrifying moment he sees both Shelyn and the worm superimposed as one.

Shivering with disgust, he finds his mouth singing out, "O, how much more doth beauty beauteous seem
By that sweet ornament which truth doth give!
The rose looks fair, but fairer we it deem
For that sweet odour which doth in it live."

Gagging at his own deception, he finds that all he has the energy left to do at the moment is to send another two arrows flying...but Shelyn's blessing holds as he manages to send a second arrow into the same foul eye.

End of Round 1, and then Round 2

Turrey says a quick prayer to the Eternal Rose, hoping that perhaps she can succeed where he fears he's failed to calm Félicité's heart, and then he rushes back to his companions.

He sings of stalwart, unassailable walls, and then sends another arrow flying at the worm, aiming for the eye and saying another quick prayer to Shelyn.

Foresight

Maybe that makes it LESS awkward?
- Turrey will delay until just _after_ Gregoth. Then I can just say that–unless/until I post otherwise–I'll use my reaction for foresight every time the worm would possibly trigger it. And if it gets to Gregoth's turn and the worm hasn't done anything that requires the worm or Gregoth to roll, THEN I'll use it on the SECOND attack that Gregoth makes in a round. (I think that means that if it triggers foresight in it's round 2, it'll use my round 1 reaction...and if not then I'll use my R1 reaction for Gregoth's second attack...and then after that it'll be _my_ round 2. Sound right?)

GM wrote:
@Turrey This particular effect cannot be completely removed with anything short of a wish, but I would say a successful counteract would suppress this instance of fear (and fleeing). However Félicité has run past you so far (thanks to haste!) that you can't currently see her. You could run after her (requiring two strides to get within 30 feet) and cast your soothing ballad, or leave her to flee and move into the room so you can attack the kimenhul. If she runs she'll be out of this fight for a while (she'll run for another two rounds and then need 3 rounds to come back), but if you follow you'll also be out of it for a round. It's not clear what the best choice is, so I won't make it for you

Is it possible for me to try this again? If so, I'll definitely do it. I know it'll take one or even two of my actions (and that I can't use a quickened action for it) since I'm on my carpet...but I assume that with the carpet's speed it won't take more than that. Please confirm and then I'll post. Thanks!

Re Kenzin, do we know how much time we'd have to stop the worm invading him? If not much time (or we just don't know) we should probably have told him, and tell him to wait right outside the worm's chamber for us, so that we can dispel it before it takes hold.

In this order, Turrey will cast:

- Heroism (L6) on Gregoth, Kaldren, and Bellaluna, then (L3) on Félicité and myself
- Mirror image (L2) on myself

Hmmm, ALL yall know 2e better than I do, but I looked up the rules to follow along, and I'd certainly rule that improved grab functions in the midst of the flurry.

Here are the things I read:

Free actions wrote:
don’t cost you any of your actions per turn, nor do they cost your reaction. A free action with no trigger follows the same rules as a single action (except the action cost), and a free action with a trigger follows the same rules as a reaction (except the reaction cost).
Simultaneous Actions wrote:
You can use only one single action, activity, or free action that doesn’t have a trigger at a time.
Reactions wrote:
have triggers, which must be met for you to use the reaction. You can use a reaction anytime its trigger is met, whether it’s your turn or not.
Improved Grab wrote:
The monster can use Grab as a free action triggered by a hit with its initial attack

Taken together, here's my reading:

* Triggered free actions take place (at the creature's discretion) anytime they are triggered (even on someone else's turn, or when interrupting an action in progress).
* Improved Grab is a triggered free action, so follows the Reaction rules
* Reactions are not constrained by the Simultaneous Action rule.

(I'm very happy with whatever ruling, and please feel free to use this as an opportunity to help me learn 2e better.) ;-)

----EDIT----

If we go with the ruling that it couldn't grab, Turrey would have cast Haste instead of Liberating Command (and then wouldn't have been able to shoot with his bow)

Turrey nods. "If we can get you to Nellibet, I agree that that's the safer course."

Let's go interrupt a ritual!

Turrey gives their host a rueful smile. "Thank the Eternal Rose, it's a miracle you survived that ordeal. Truly, you're made of sturdy stuff. And I'm afraid your dream was correct. There's a horrid wurm that these cultists are attempting to summon.

"I'm not sure what the safest course is for you now...but perhaps you should just come along 10 paces behind us? Hopefully, we'll deal with any foe before they can get to you."

Take some time to sing to myself, and regain 2 focus points.

Once we've rested, let's head NE? (Don't really care, just picking)

Turrey gasps in pain as the pendulum nearly bisects him.

I'm not sure I could take another of those. Time to end this!

He attempts to fly above the reach of the blades on his trusty flying carpet, considers how much arcane might he needs to dispel these, and then sings out a song to disperse their magic.

Arcana: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (14) + 20 = 34 Intent is to use a spell level sufficient to succeed on a basic success
Dispel: 1d20 + 29 ⇒ (20) + 29 = 49 ...though in this case, I could've used a lower one, clearly ;-)

Bellaluna, I wonder if there's anything a keen eye can do to anticipate where the next one will swing, and make sure noone's in it's way.

DM, would Turrey have a way to know what level of spell he needs to dispel here? (Maybe as the result of a Felicite Arcana check?) If it wouldn't be reasonable to know, I'll just make a guess!

As Kalder prepares toleap, Turrey pull out the priceless violin, and proceeds to play a soaring violin solo.

Thanks for the explanation...and my googles are only greater, sorry for the typo. (I switched the words Major and Greater in that sentence) :-(

Turrey says, "Hold on a moment," and then begins to sing.

"O fair auroral skies—O morning dew upon the grass!
The wet of woods through the early hours,
The forenoon purple of the hills,
The violet and purple morn with just-felt breezes,
In the freshness the soft forenoon airs that blow from the south-west."

If True Seeing would work, I'll cast that and offer to lead the group into it. If not, I'll happily cast a heightened dispel. Do I need to use a 9th level slot to overcome it?

After spending ten minutes composing the beginnings of a hopefully melody, and an hour of Félicité's ministrations, Turrey feels himself again.

Re darkness:
- I have Major Goggles of the Night, but I assume that doesn't help since only Greater grants greater darkvision
- With my staff of divination, I can cast True Seeing. Would that do it?
.
EDIT: I'm used to that in PF1e there's really no darkness that a high level party has to care about. I kind of like that that's not true here.

Pudding, sorry, if it's not too late to spend the Focus for Counterperformance I'll do so

A dry gasp escapes Turrey's mouth, as he struggles to keep singing in the face of the banshee's life-sucking wail. Using all he's got, he attempts to overwhelm the hateful sound with Shelyn's beauty.

He continues to sing of courage, and makes one more attempt to damage the banshee with an arrow.

Turrey sings a song of courage, attempting to inspire his companions to victory. As he does, he weaves in a thunderous shout, aiming to disrupt the banshee that's attempting to conceal itself.
