Keeper of the secrets of the hidden places

there is a violent splashing from the basin, another tentacle shoots out of the water, but something else has been set free…

MR tentacles 29-2=27 +10=37, 4 dice

Monster Attack round 3: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 5, 5) = 21

Keeper of the secrets of the hidden places

Brenda scores a 6, doing one hit against the octopus, but her total of 15 is less than the octopuses 17, doing two hits. Luckily her buckler stops the damage

You fight bravely against the initial attack, and now that you know what you are up against you prepare for it to get worse before it gets better.

The octopus does not add i/2 it’s hits to further attacks, but adds another tentacle + 10 hits

Octopus hits – 29

Second Round Attack: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 4) = 13

Keeper of the secrets of the hidden places

The door opens into a large room the ceiling is suspended by four columns, spaced around a calm pool of water with a ring of tiled stone around it.

The pool has a giant octopus ready to attack you. It begins with 20 hits (2 tentacles) rolling 2d6+10 on its first attack. On its next attacks it adds one more tentacle, 10 hits, until all eight tentacles are destroyed, or you are dead

First Round Attack: 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (4, 3) + 10 = 17

Keeper of the secrets of the hidden places

You have taken the north door

You have stumbled out of the smoke filled room into a passageway. You can go south, back through the door, east into an unknown part of the castle, or there is a door on the left.

Keeper of the secrets of the hidden places

You are teleported to the “Smoke Filled Room”*

The air is hot, and you cannot see more than a few feet in front of you. There does not seem to be anything immediately dangerous here. You must search for the exit

Turns: 1d6 ⇒ 3

*:
This is room #3

Keeper of the secrets of the hidden places

You have walked through a teleportation gate – only the Fate of the Sails knows where it leads

8A: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 6) = 8

Keeper of the secrets of the hidden places

It’s a pleasure to meet you Unbolath, may I call you Unbolath? Well, my interest is academic, mostly. I couldn’t help but overhear you tell Miss Ellie that you were not from this world. Well, I must say you seem to be adjusting well to the situation. Inter-dimensional dislocation is something I am familiar with, well again academically anyway. I came to Garicadia from my home almost, let me see, yes, next week it will be exactly one year, and I’ve been fascinated by this land ever since. It is a strange place, with many strange mysteries. If you decide that you are curious about this world I’d be happy to tell you all about it. You should know, if you do not already know, that this world is called Riom.

She moves toward the door, as she finishes saying, I would love to tell you more about my academic interests in this land. I am going to get something for a curious young man and I will return shortly. If you came from the north I would really appreciate any information you have about the terrain and dangers in that direction, particularly if you know anything about this legendary beast known as Treeshaker. I’ve heard terrible stories about this creature and as I am planning an expedition to the region, I would like to know more.

Keeper of the secrets of the hidden places

Um, my, I haven’t seen this many new faces here in this town, in one day, since I came here. Hello, my name is Kethinna Akali, it’s a pleasure to meet you folks. If you don’t mind me asking have you travelled her from the north or from the west?

Keeper of the secrets of the hidden places

Wha: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

With a smile, and a look that tells Ritmush the rat-kin woman isn't bothered by his story in any way, Kethinna says,

Well, it certainly sounds like you need that lantern more than I do. I sell it to you for the same amount I paid, eighty dollars. If you like I can fetch it for you now, or we can wait till tomorrow, whatever works for you

Keeper of the secrets of the hidden places

Hello Ritmush, I’ve heard a lot about you from people in town. I’d be happy to sell you one of the lanterns. I only bought them to be sure I had a spare. I don’t gamble, we only play for the companionship and conversation. I tell you what though, if you are interested. I’ll give you the lantern if you will tell me where you are going to explore and offer me a chance to accompany you. There are some things I am researching her and I could use some help and a knowledgeable guide.
