I'm definitely not interested in epic level-which-will-be-played-by-0.01%-of-D&D-players, I want low/mid-level epic adventures. What makes an epic adventure? That's the real question I'm concerned about. And I personally don't think it's related to level. Fighting a dragon can be a walk in the park, whereas fighting an allip at level 2 can sometimes be epic...

I concur.

Nothing refreshes better than a mighty drinking or work song!

I say bards should get a heal ... but .... yea...keep it minor.

If so, why not in the spell´s entry just say that if casted by a Bard, it cannot use it against undead?

I don't have a problem with that....

How about something totally crazy…

When the party goes epic, it would have to be an “era” changing event. A zeitgeist.
The players have a final crisis and they have 5 sessions to remake the world or continent and solve some world ending epic story. Mechanically it might be kind of like that 3.0 gods book.
Whenever there is a major conflict, crisis, … event… that location’s name would change to … “Cormac’s Lament” or “Icarus Falls” or... something…
In the next campaign take up that new map and go…

That really sounds fun to me and …

it sounds …

EPIC!

I am not a big fan of a series of splat books with pages of new rules and overall craziness that won’t relate to my game. Overall the Wizards splat book strategy made me game weary. I almost dropped out of the hobby.

What I would like to see Paizo do is create "adventures" that house the new rules.
… So say a …
Boxed set …
with…
1) a Players book with the new rules, classes etc… and
2) a DM book with an adventure. This adventure would have a “unique trainer” for specific PRCs, Feats, Classes, spells, skills…. as well as having an environment that would be designed to showcase said abilities.

In a way you could treat these things as loot for the players.
When talking to your friends you could brag about your 15th level Fighter with the Sauhagin Wrestling feat. And other would sit around the table and say .. “Oh yea, I played in that adventure… very cool.”

Anyhow … that’s my two.

Seems like what you are saying is that you consider the two about equal ...
it just really depends on your concept.

That is good to know. I think I might go with the animal companion.

Just seems more ... Druid-like....
But then again ... those powers are so cool!

I am getting ready to join a Pathfinder game for the first time and I am very excited about giving it a try. I am joining the group late so I will be starting at level 3 and while all of the classes have been rewritten I think I am going to go with a 1/2 orc DRUID.

As I start reading the special abilities I get "stumped" right at the start with NATURE BOND. This provides very cool options for the druid to start with but ... I am not sure what to go with.

I want the cool Domain power... but I want my animal companion as well.

So I am asking you... the experts... what is the conventional wisdom? Animal Companion or Cleric Domain?

Thanks

I realize Pathfinder is more of a "product" versus a replacement magazine. However, I would be willing to see a few more ads (and perhaps pay a little less for the subscription).

I also hope you intend to still include a list of other companies new releases. Through First Watch (in Dragon) and various ads from both magazines, I've been turned on to such companies and products as Dwarven Fordge's 3D terrain, Steal Squire's Area of effect templates, and Geek Label T-shirts just to name a few.

I relize it may not be called "First Watch" anymore, but I think it would be a good idea to have a review and or a new releases section.
(For what my opinion is worth)

A agree, I kind of LIKE the ads. In fact that always seems to be one of the nice things about Dragon and Dungeon. It was good to see bright color ads for products that I usually wouldn't see at a game store, or on a company's website.

Is Pathfinder going to be in stores?
I might subscribe but I would kind of like to look at one first.

Thanks

Just got Dun 146, NO Map!
But oh yea, I see I have come to the right place.

Go Paizo! I figured you would do the right thing.

Online content? Really? MMMmmmm... Wow.... That has to be the worst... Now do I have to subscribe to "Wizards' Dragon online" like ... porn?

Scarab Sages

Yes Yes... we need more maps!
