Shut up!

Manual had told me all about the world. It was supposed to be full of Cities, Forests, People, Animals. I am very fond of the Animals. I knew that Tigers (Panthera tigris) were not indigenous to North America, but there were Zoos. Manual had said so.

Then I woke up and I saw nothing but flames. I walked out of the wreckage of my bed and there was no one there. Manual's voice was gone, but I still had Manual's knowledge in my head and I had my book. If I listened to Manual, I knew I would be okay.

But the world is not like Manual had said it would be. It is full of dirt, oil, fire, and screaming. Circe calls. She wants to help. The world is wrong, but Circe can make it right. No. Circe is wrong. There is war pounding in her blood and anger in her eyes. She can't be trusted. She wears my face, but she is not me.

Manual had told me that people could be bad. Not people. Men, always men. They break the world; they ruin it; they will take away everything. Circe agrees with Manual. Look at what the men have done to the world. But Manual was wrong about what the world would look like, so Manual must be wrong about this, too. I have seen kindness and it sometimes wears the face of man. I have seen hatred in the guise of a woman.

I am not sure who the world belongs to now, but it's not Circe and her ways. I have to stop her; I'm the only one who can.
