I probably just missed stuff because I would come on and have so many posts to read, that I started skimming things.

Mors has no day job. That was a quick scenario, and prolific, as I'd go offline for a couple hours and come back to find 11 posts to read. As for GMing style, other than maybe playing up the complete strangeness of the technology more (naming things like keypads and holograms helps players understand what you're describing, but it's a bit meta-game when taken from the point if view of the characters), everything had a good flow to it. Some things were confusing me (why we were bothering doing certain things) but I think the blame there lies with a scenario that felt a bit more railroady than normal, even for PFS. Why did we go to all the trouble to align whatever it was with whatever it was? Did I miss our exit being otherwise sealed behind us at some point? Were we just exploring these lower rooms for the sake of exploring them? Definitely interested (read 'always') in another scenario.

Mors growls as he comes to, then gives his hammer another good swing. Hammer time: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 3 + 1 + 2 = 19

"Isn't the problem just that only the tiny bit of air from the elevator was spread out into the big room above? If that's the case, couldn't we just take a bunch of trips up and down, eventually filling the upper chamber with enough air for us to survive in?"

Oops. This is my first ranger. I completely forgot about his favoured enemy bonus against those things...not that it was needed.

Nay as well for optional encounter, unless of course it adds to gold in the end (but you said it wouldn't, so nay).

"Now, hang on a moment. The Pathfinder Society has used this complex for tests for years, dozens of similar tests, without incident. The only thing different this time is you lot barging in here, doing who knows what, and setting off who knows what. 'Without the clues set out by your superiors?' That's the same logic as a burglar saying, 'If you hadn't come home unexpectedly, I would never have gotten caught, so it's your fault I'm in jail!'" Mors takes a deep breath to calm himself. "I'm afraid your friend didn't survive. He tried to run for the exit, but had lost too much blood from the machine man, and passed out in the corridor just outside the room where you fought it."

Mors takes a MW crossbow as well and loads a bolt. He'll take point on the way down the stairs, searching for traps.

I had meant ready, as not only did I miss the part about it being glued, I also forgot that a lucerne hammer is a reach weapon! Go me. Given it's glued status and the reach weapon, I would have attacked as you said. Mors tests his disarm job with his hammer, and if all is well, proceeds towards the archway.

"Stick to the outer walls!" Mors yells. "There's a trap in the centre." Mors will move to D2, prepping his lucerne hammer along the way, and readies at attack on the machine. Attack with hammer: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

"Shall one of us take the dagger, and the other the armour? Actually, why don't you take the dagger. The fine make of this armour means it won't get in the way if and when I have to try to disable one of these traps."

"Sorry, Jaender, but this dagger is special, forged for the purpose of destroying magical constructs and mundane items like a floor. It should go to someone who will be opting for hand-to-hand combat against such creatures, and, no offence, I don't think that'll be you." Mors will carefully strip the half-orc of his nice armour. "Does anybody else wear this kind of armour?" Anybody besides Mors himself, of course...
Male Half-Orc Ranger 1 | HP: 13/13 | AC: 16 (13 Tch, 13 Fl) | CMD: 16 | F: +4, R: +5, W: +2 | Init: +3 | Perc: +6 (+8 vs undead and secret doors; +9 traps), SM: +2 | Active conditions: None
Mors searches the area for other traps, then picks up the dagger and makes a test scratch on the floor. "I think things are starting to make sense. There's a trapper in this group ahead of us, marking X's to remind his group where the traps are. This trap is part of the test, covered in dye of different colours so the Pathfinders waiting to hear from us can tell whether we bypassed the traps or triggered them and who tripped which trap. They're not designed to kill us, but this guy had been already hurt. Something was chasing him, something just up ahead, that made him turn around, and, in his haste, trip the trap they had just found and avoided. If I'm right, we can speed up our progress here, since the rest of them would have run in a different direction, likely triggering traps. Either that, or we'll soon find some more bodies." Mors searches his counterpart for more loot, specifically a Wayfinder or something else that indicates Pathfinder Society.

"It looks like somebody was rifling the chests a bit, and then gave up," Mors says. "This looks like a riddle. The tracks are disappearing. Shall we try to solve the riddle, which is probably part of our official test, or follow the tracks of the intruder?"
Male Half-Orc Ranger 1 | HP: 13/13 | AC: 16 (13 Tch, 13 Fl) | CMD: 16 | F: +4, R: +5, W: +2 | Init: +3 | Perc: +6 (+8 vs undead and secret doors; +9 traps), SM: +2 | Active conditions: None
So what's the red line across the right-hand corridor? Should we not see that? Edit: oh, I see. That's the grating. Never mind. Mors will examine the X and area carefully.
Male Half-Orc Ranger 1 | HP: 13/13 | AC: 16 (13 Tch, 13 Fl) | CMD: 16 | F: +4, R: +5, W: +2 | Init: +3 | Perc: +6 (+8 vs undead and secret doors; +9 traps), SM: +2 | Active conditions: None
Oh, so the trip wire is not in their corridor, but protecting the right-hand corridor." Assuming he can determine the safe side of the trip wire, and motions everybody else out of the danger zone, Mors moves there and attempts to disarm the trap.

That's fine, re: Perception checks for traps. I was going to post a suggestion that if you did them for me, it would slow us down less, so it seems we have the same idea. Do you want me to make Disable Device rolls, or would you like to make them, too? His Disable Device bonus is +9, minus 1 for ACP, so +8 total.

Mors shrugs. "Whatever works, as long as nobody gets hit by the trap, it's all the same." He pats the little guy on the shoulder. Mors examines the hallway, prodding the floor with his earthbreaker as they go.

"Clear," Mors whispers back. He moves to examine the glowing panel and door. Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

"Hang on!" Mors says to Miro. He checks this end of the ladder for traps, frayed ropes, etc. Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25 "Traps and other mechanical devices are my specialty. Let me check any doors, hallways, and other things that might be booby-trapped." Once he thinks it's safe, Mors makes sure his bear trap is secure, then motions for the halfling to proceed.

Mors finishes off his ale and roast boaR, wipes his mouth, and stands up, picking up his trap and earthbreaker. He raises an eyebrow at the flitting about of the small guy, but shrugs and heads for the door, silently waiting for the others to follow.
Male Half-Orc Ranger 1 | HP: 13/13 | AC: 16 (13 Tch, 13 Fl) | CMD: 16 | F: +4, R: +5, W: +2 | Init: +3 | Perc: +6 (+8 vs undead and secret doors; +9 traps), SM: +2 | Active conditions: None
"Sounds like a good test of skills, good test of teamwork." Mors absent-mindedly grabs another hunk of roast boat from the platter and chows his way through.

The grizzled half-orc slings a nasty bear trap off his back as he sits down, propping his earthbreaker beside him. "Bandits do not concern me," Mors says. "I am called Mors. Trapper Mors, but Mors is fine."

Mors checking in. Thanks for having me. Would you be able to start a gameplay thread, just for dotting, so this game shows up in our Campaign tabs?
GM Damo wrote: @Trapper Mors: Upon a re-read of your post (and looking at the number of posts you make) I'm changing my assumption to you had a different typo and meant "no" instead of "now". Makes more sense anyway. LOL. Yes, that was the typo. I usually post more than once, unless there's literally nothing for my character to do. I don't like to clutter up the game threads with filler, "Mors watches the others' discussion of quantum physics while he picks his teeth and scratches himself" posts.
Trapper Mors, #15812-6 A brand new, trapper ranger. I've been wanting to make a tinkerer, saboteur, trap-setter for awhile, and this is the perfect opportunity. I have played in many, many PBPs and only recently started PFS (have a couple level 2s and 3, now 4 level 1s). I have now major time constraints and can usually post more than once a day |
