Male Human Sensei
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 Toshiro begins to grow anxious when diagnosed with a fever. "I-I-I'm sure I'm fine, just a little tired is all. I'm haven't been out adventuring this much in years, so I'm just getting acclimated to it all again. Don't worry about me, I eat nothing but fruits and vegetables, so I'm as healthy as can be!" The old monk gets lost in his rambling, completely oblivious to everything unfolding around him.

If you'll allow... Sensing something is wrong, Toshiro attempts to throw his foot in the way of the door closing once again. He hopes to catch it before it slams shut. I don't know what kind of roll you'll require to attempt that, but... 1d20 ⇒ 15 Acrobatics + 1 = 16

Toshiro crouches low while he walks, while also waiving his arms about his head in a rhythmic fashion. "If you stay low and move your arms about enough, the mosquitos will have a hard time attaching themselves to you. You all should try it, it's very helpful. You wouldn't want to catch any sort of disease out here on your first day of goblin hunting, would you?" Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

Not a problem, Beazy. I think that's logical. The only suggestion/recommendation I might make is when a player makes a skill check of some sort to advance things forward. It helps to know if it was a success or a failure, so the character (and the rest of the party) know how to properly respond to that in their next post. Just my two cents though.

Toshiro continues walking forward, smiling at Corvus' question, but a hint of sadness in his face. "No need to be embarassed, I am okay with speaking openly about such things. When the goblins attacked the town, back when the Heroes of Sandpoint arose, I helped around where I could. However, I was so caught up in my training and pursuit of Irori's teachings that I was oblivious to how badly the town needed help. When the 'Heroes of Sandpoint' arose to defend our town, I continued training, hoping Irori would enlighten me and bring the physical perfection I felt was necessary to defeat the evil in our town." His gaze shifts from the canopy of the trees to the ground at his feet. "The night that Ameiko's father, Lonjiku, met his end... He came to me earlier that day. He sensed that bad things were happening. We were old friends, you know, and even though we didn't see eye-to-eye in many ways, I respected him. We saved each other's hides on multiple occasions, back in our more foolish and reckless days. Anyway, he came to me and asked me to watch over Ameiko, should anything happen to him. I laughed at him and said he was being too paranoid..." As he talks, his walking pace gradually slows further and further. After a moment, Toshiro realizes what he is doing and coughs, shaking his head with an embarassed look. "Oh dear, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to ramble on like that. Anyway, yes, I have fought a handful of goblins in my time. If you're alert, they aren't too much of a hassle. But the fiends have a habit of sneaking up on you when you don't expect it. I recommend leaving your guard up at all times when goblins are suspected." Toshiro continues to look carefully along the ground, searching for tracks that belong to goblins or other creatures, while (hopefully) heading in the correct direction that the Warden lives.

Toshiro closes his eyes and breathes in the wind, trying to determine the direction of the wind and their own travels. "Part of meditation requires being in tune with all of your body's senses. Perhaps we can use our senses to find a suitable path away from peril... or large mosquitos." Survival: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

Toshiro needs very little for his travels, being a man of simplisticy in his routine life. He gathers his rations and waterskin before stretching his limbs, a last minute preparation before hitting the road. It's been a long time since I've used my strength in battle. I hope my training and meditations have spared me possible embarassment in front of my peers. What a strange group assembled. That elf is very peculiar, and the dwarf certainly has a... unique aroma. His thoughts wander until he realized he his nearly late to meet the group at the front gates! Toshiro rushes out of his home and briskly walks towards the rendevous point, greeting everyone again sincerely, before heading out.

The goblins are gathering again? No... The last time that happened, I lost one of my dear friends, and Ameiko lost her father. And of course, I refused to get involved, letting the "Sandpoint Heroes" step forward and defend our town. And now that danger is at our doorstep again, where are our heroes? No, this time, it's my responsibility to save our town. Poor Ameiko shouldn't have to suffer more loss at the hands of those monsters. After losing himself in thought again, Toshiro rises from his seat and walks over to Ameiko and Shalelu, bowing gracefully in greeting. "Ameiko, Shalelu, a pleasure to see you as always. I feel that it is my responsibility to venture out and deal with this goblin menace. I stood by last time as they invaded our homes, but I refuse to let our town burn by their hands again." He glances at Ameiko and smiles. "And before you even think about it, no jokes about being too old. I know you too well!"

Just as it is every morning, Toshiro rises from his rest at the hint of dawn. If one is to obtain spiritual perfection, then the mind must be prepared before all other things each day. And even though he is growing in age, Toshiro's daily regiment has kept him more youthful and healthy than most of the young lads in town. Once his meditation, prayers and martial training is completed, the next task in his daily routine is to head over to the Rusty Dragon, the young Kaijitsu's tavern. Toshiro always offers to assist in any way he can, but Ameiko tends to turn down his offers, playfully telling the aging monk that his old bones might break doing physical labor. He always laughs, but the worry lingers. What if I do become old and broken before I reach the perfection that Irori asks of me? This morning in the Rusty Dragon is a bit more lively than normal though. Some unfamiliar faces greet him, with whom Toshiro kindly bows. He looks around for Ameiko, but not seeing her, asks for a cup of tea from the barmaid and takes a seat. |
