The ring, is not that useful to my mind. If a warrior wanted a shield, he would carry one. Though I see the attraction for hiding such a shield. I agree that you should wear it vidar.

Toshio looks at his sword. Twice now he had needed magic cast upon it just to hit his foes.
Toshio refuses to relax a follows Camillo to backup their sneak. The Bard was growing on himand Toshio had promised to bring him back alive.
It died from shock when you decided it wasn't worth the effort and took your nap. Camillo pushed the stunned beast over with his sword. Toshio smiled. He was unused to telling jokes but it seemed funny to him.
Rd 3. This fight was becoming dire. The samurai needed to kill this beast. He calls upon his honor to improve his focus

Toshio landed a good hit, yet his blade was turned aside.
He attempts to AID ANOTHER to Kithian, to improve his attack, knowing the Barbarian to possess the most powerful weapon and he hit the hardest.
Next Rd. Seeing such power and Brutality from the thing Toshio drops his bow and moves to flank with Kithian.
Toshio is quick to react and gets a single bow shot off at the hairy thing.
Not seeing any foes, Toshio cautiously moves into the center of the room, an arrow knocked and ready to fire....
Toshio stands at the front. Bow in hand and ready to shoot.

Toshio breaks his position and Stands, he puts away his favored blade and bow and draws the viscious Longsword.
Toshio finishes his meditations and rises. Thank-you Rullis. My strength has returned.
Toshio is at rest in the flying lotus position. Just Discipline. A samurai must harden his body and still his mind to acquire his skill. Everyday. One does not improve without dedication.
Toshio awakens early to practice his stances and care for his horse.
Toshio says nothing but merely smiles as they make their way to the surface. When they get there he sets about making camp for the night. He brushes and soothes his horse, glad to see his partner well.
This is the last room, is it not. It's not going anywhere. We could rest and check the room tomorrow at our best, if you wish, Master Vidar. I have no objection.
This whole place reeks of evil. The sooner we have cleared it and are home the better.

Toshio was secretly wondering what made the barbarian such a more appealing target and decided it must be all the yelling he did. Swiftly, silently the Samurai drew his Katana, low and wide hoping to disembowel the devil.
Allowing Rullis to touch his scabbared sword, Toshio quick draws the now enchanted blade and closes with the fiend, flanking with Kithian.
Toshio ignores the banter and remains focused. It was not the time for such discussion.
Let's finish up in this place. I long to see Ameiko properly and the town coul use it's peace of mind the threat is over.

At last. Toshio resumes his customary position in the lead with Kithian, once again with his bow out in preference to a blade. He returns to the coin pile, and moves through the opening to survey the next room/tunnel.
I cannot imagine but even so why keep a helm sized for such a creature in a ruin sized for people? A trophy perhaps?
Even more, one monsters' hide at a time. Shall we continue?

Toshio steps in and swings hard at the crab, trying to chop through shell.
Toshio takes a step to the side for a clear line and shoots the thing.
He then drops his Bow, knowing Kithian is a moment off charging it, Quick drawing his Katana, and closes to be if the edge of it's reach (so a 5ft step will put me adjacent next round- I am avoiding an AOO for moving through it's reach.)
