Toryn lets out a long sigh as he relaxes, now that the beasts have been slain. He whistles once, and Seras bolts back towards the treeline. "I s'pose 'at could 'ave gone worse," he states, once again storing his maul on his back.
Seeing Ceres' battered form, Toryn reaches out and presses a hand to her shoulder, channeling healing energies through his palm.
Toryn heads to assist Celes and the demon threatening her, weapons ready to strike.
Toryn calls out as he assists Valterra, "Cold Iron, lass! It's deadly against demonfolk! 'ey must be demons o' some sort!" After shouting, he turns back to the creature he is fighting, weapons blurring as hammer and blade move to strike it down. Full attack action.:
Toryn strikes down the foe facing him, then turns to rush and assist Valterra.
Toryn winces as he is struck, his weapons flashing through the air as he once again swings at the demons with all of his might!

Toryn strikes out at the enemies facing him, both of his weapons aimed to destroy the creatures. A grim look on his face shows he takes no joy in dealing with the beasts.

It's mostly that Blessing of Fervor is great for groups that don't have someone who can cast Haste, or in caster-heavy groups. And the fact that you can switch between ways to use it is pretty awesome, too. It's just Haste is a hands-down better buff for melee combat.
Yeah, I'd vastly prefer Haste to Blessing of Fervor, honestly.
Toryn hops off his mount as he sees the creatures charging to catch them, giving the animal a slap on the rear to get it heading towards the rest of the caravan. He brings his right hand to his mouth, whistling long and loud, before reaching behind him, he draws his weapon, brandishing the oversized mace at the approaching foes. "Guess todays gonna be a bit more excitin' than I'd like!" he shouts, standing ready.
Toryn's sharp gaze catches something out of the corner of his eye, and he turns around on his horse to get a better look. When the few dark-skinned, feral-looking creatures come into his vision, he drops his apple in surprise. "We've got company, folks!" he alerts the rest of the caravan, urging his horse to head to the rear of the caravan to stand between his companions and the creatures following them. Once he's reached the edge of the caravan, Toryn whistles three times in quick repetition, his eyes darting towards the forest's edge for a moment.
Toryn nods at the suggestion, making sure to keep a sharp eye out for anything out of sorts. Shifting his grip on the horse's reins to his left hand, he pulls a juicy-looking apple from his satchel and takes a nice big bite out of it. "I sure hope they are today, though. I'd rather not deal with any more trouble than is necessary. This place is dangerous enough without evil coming out of the woodwork to harass a simple caravan," he says around a mouthful of the fruit. He swallows, and then takes another bite, not once stopping in keeping a lookout.
Toryn Brightstep rides easily upon his horse, a relaxed smile on his face. The animal trods along near to the caravan at a calm trot. On his back rests a huge, dangerous-looking mace, and strapped to his left wrist is a shield with a wicked blade attached to it. His armor is a light and simple-looking breastplate and pauldrons over leather padding, with a brown tunic over it. His short brown hair seems a bit messy, but is otherwise well kept, and his green eyes shine in the sunlight. His facial hair is trimmed and neat, and gives him a bit of a roguish air. Toryn's eyes search the landscape as they ride, keeping a look out for dangerous beasts... other than the one under his care, at least.

Toryn is built to go get up close and personal with things in combat (with very few spells, most likely to have things, like lesser restoration and various other spells of that nature, memorized to deal with dangerous debuffs) and generally just to club things over the head. A very straight-forward character in combat. It sounds like we're going to have 3-4 people hanging out in melee, though.

This is the rough request I threw together when I got a /tg/ drawfriend to start making me a picture of Toryn. If you'd like to take a shot at it, I'd like to see it.
I may or may not have already built a sheet for the character at level 9, in case I did end up playing The Demon Within. I guess my useless busywork ended up being worth it, after all. :)
Actually, that reminds me. Should we be level 9 if we're going to be doing The Demon Within? Or do you think that level 8 will be sufficient? I had completely forgotten that you'd mentioned the different level for that module.
Heh, fair enough! Hey, there's nothing saying we won't be able to try one of the others after the fact, right? ;) Spoiler: DM sanity and/or willingness to put up with us permitting, at least! :D
If you look at the list, you'll see that us playing male characters are highly outnumbered. ;)
Looks solid to me, so far. I think The Demon Within would be amazing for our group, what with a regular Paladin and a Paladin/Life Oracle. I'd be totally willing to give any of the three a try, though. :)
That's six folks who are going to be like "oh damn, I totally forgot about this!" but such is life. I look forward to your final decisions. :)
Toryn can't help but laugh, the statement holding true for himself, as well. "Ain't never met a woodsman who was a mama's boy, that's for sure," he smirks, the laugh reaching all the way to his eyes.

You said it'd be a couple days before you've got everything sorted out, right?
I'd be happy if we got more completed applications in, but I don't think it's in the cards. Three games sounds like an awful big undertaking. If you think you can do it, you are a tougher fellow than I. ;)

Toryn raises an eyebrow as Valterra storms out of the building, and he gets concerned when he can hear crashing and shifting noises coming from outside the building. Eh... I'm sure she's fine. Young girls need time to themselves and all that. The woodsman settles back into his seat, watching the others talk. Who'd have expected I would be the odd man out here... Toryn sits with a bemused smirk on his face, taking occasional drinks from his mug.
Toryn lifts his mug and calls across the room at Tryane's declaration, "I can get behind that! Here here!"
Toryn leans back on his stool, watching the others converse. He looks vaguely content to have the focus off of him for the moment. Cityfolk are something else... the man thinks to himself, taking a sip from his mug.
Toryn goes back to drinking his ale, not hearing Valterra say anything.
Toryn chuckles again, "Yeah, that she might. Nothin' to worry, though. I'll make sure she doesn't end up passed out drunk on the floor." He takes another pull from his mug, smiling calmly.
Toryn shrugs. "E'rybody's got their quirks."
Toryn gives the freakish-looking tiefling a once-over, but upon seeing the hellknight armor, shrugs and returns his attention to his mug and companions. Ain't going to deny folk the chance to drink an' relax, no matter what they look like, he thinks to himself.
"Fair enough," the man says, taking his mug and Valterra's from the barkeep, handing one to the woman. "Here ya are." He takes a long draught from his mug, before relaxing on the stool he'd claimed. "You don' see many dwarves out in the wilds. Not that I can blame 'em, it's not what they're used to."
Toryn smiles, even though he doubts the girl can see it. "It's not a problem. She's a big spoiled kid, underneath all that fur and muscle. She was as happy to meet you as you were to meet her," the man chuckles. "Dirty? Maybe by cityfolk standards. Nothin' a good bath in a river won't fix." The Chelaxian realizes Bresna is ordering some of the strongest alcohol in the house, and butts in, "Another mug of the ale I had before would be fine. I'd rather not have to have Seras or these lasses drag my drunken arse out of here."
Toryn frowns as the atmosphere suddenly gets incredibly tense. "Come now, ladies, no need to get all confrontational."
Toryn nods. "Certainly." He motions for Seras to go back to her spot in the treeline, which the wolf grudgingly returns to.
Toryn nods to the mounted knight as she salutes the gathered party, giving her a quick once-over before she rides off. Another pair of mismatched eyes? That's some coincidence.
