TRAITS:
Faith Trait-Principled
Although Torsuuk's parents are not native to Nirmathas, he was born in a temple of Torag within Kraggodan, and has been raised since birth to follow the faith of the Father of Creation. Due to his sworn loyalty to his faith, he has made a code of honor to himself over his own behavior-be honest to oneself and to others, and to not let others take advantage of oneself. He takes a -2 penalty on Bluff checks, and gains a +2 trait bonus on saving throws against charm, compulsion, and emotion effects.
Campaign Trait-Frontier Healer
Torsuuk made his way in life by putting people back together after the rigors of the world take their toll—brewing herbal remedies, setting broken bones, and treating diseases. He gains a +1 trait bonus on all Heal and Knowledge (nature) checks, and one of these skills is always a class skill for him. Any time he restores hit points using the Heal skill or a cure spell (but not with channeled energy, lay on hands, or a magic device such as a potion or wand), he restores 1 additional hit point, plus 1 for every 2 class levels he has beyond 1st.
Special Abilities:
Aura of Good:The power of a paladin's aura of good (see the detect good spell) is equal to his paladin level.
Stonestrike: Once per day per paladin level, a stonelord can draw upon the power of the living rock. As a swift action, he treats his melee attacks until the beginning of his next turn (whether armed or unarmed) as magical and adamantine, including ignoring hardness up to twice her paladin level, with a +1 bonus on attack and damage rolls, as well as on combat maneuver checks. This bonus also applies to his CMD if he or his target is touching the ground or a stone structure. This bonus increases by +1 for at 5th level and every 5 levels thereafter. This ability replaces smite evil.
Slow and Steady: Dwarves have a base speed of 20 feet, but their speed is never modified by armor or encumbrance.
Defensive Training: Dwarves gain a +4 dodge bonus on attack rolls made by monsters of the giant subtype.
Hatred: Dwarves gain a +1 racial bonus on attack rolls against humanoids with the goblinoid or orc subtype.
Greed: Dwarves gain a +2 racial bonus on Appraise checks to determine the price of nonmagical goods that contain precious metals or gemstones.
Hardy: Dwarves gain a +2 racial bonus on saving throws against poison, spells, and spell-like abilities.
Stability: Dwarves gain a +4 racial bonus to their CMD when resisting a bull rush or trip attempt while standing on the ground.
Stonecunning: Dwarves gain a +2 bonus on Perception checks to notice unusual stonework, such as traps and hidden doors located in stone walls or floors. They receive a check to notice such features whenever they pass within 10 feet of them, whether or not they are actively looking.
Weapon Familiarity: Dwarves are proficient with battleaxes, heavy picks, and warhammers, and treat any weapon with the word "dwarven" in its name as a martial weapon.
Personality:
Torsuuk seems to have two different personalities depending on the situation-when things get serious, he becomes even more serious, holding an air of intense focus and determination. When things are in a state of calmness, however, he is a jolly soul who loves nothing more than to sit in a tavern and engage in jokes and storytelling.
Background:
Torsuuk's parents-indeed, his entire lineage-comes from a family of dwarves who live their lives in Thuvia and Osirion, who dedicate their lives to hunting and destroying undead. His parents, wanting a change of pace from the deserts, traveled until they settled in Kraggodan, where Torsuuk (Dwarven for opportunity) was born under the temple of Torag. He devoted his entire childhood to the teachings of the Father of Creation, and found that, unlike most paladins, he fights with the aid of stone rather than light. Once he was of age, settled off to Nirmathas to aid the townsfolk from hobgoblin raids. He has heard that Kraggodan was seized by Molthune, but he has gotten a letter that his parents are alright, having moved to another dwarven settlement in peace.
At first Torsuuk only stayed at Phaendar for rests before traveling to other settlements, but eventually he grew so fond of the place that he decided to make it his permanent residence. He’s not familiar with everyone in town, but he does do his best to help the townsfolk to the best of his abilities.
[spoiler=Physical Appearance]Torsuuk is a short, stout dwarf, being only 4’ tall. His beard is large, bushy, well kept, and in the color of Osirion sand. He does have something of a beer belly, but this is deceptive to his strength and stamina. His warhammer, armor and shield carry many scratches on them, but not by his own use-they were passed down from his father, as per family tradition.
