Male Dwarf Monk/1
I'm here. Sorry. Tok steps into the room, and as he does so, grabs two shurikens from his pouch. He takes aim at the nearest Goblin. Flurry of Blows Attack 1:
Attack 2:
Though, based on my dice rolls, my presence is irrelevant.
One more voice in favor of "The Iron Carnival." but, as already stated, that should just be one squad - not the entire company. And I also agree that the newer recruits probably shouldn't come in with nicknames. I do hope that there won't be undue pressure to come up with creative names and that they happen naturally.

"So...I suppose I should tell you what I can about the Goblin threat..." "I agree with what our tall companion - Galstock was it? - said: Do we need to talk, or can we not take the fight to them?"

As everyone enters the inn, Tok stays outside for a moment with head bowed and eyes closed, quietly muttering something that sounds not unlike a prayer. After a few seconds of this, he enters the tavern and takes a seat at the table. DM: Tok isn't naturally trusting of people. During the meal, his senses will be on high alert to determine if people are telling the truth - particularly Drexel and Shalelu.
Sense Motives Check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11 Wow. Great first roll!

Instinctively, Tok raises his hands in a defensive posture. Realizing Drexel intends to shake hands, not attack, Tok lowers his defenses and takes the human's hand, shaking it. "Sure. We can be 'pals' – in time." Tok turns to the others. "So, who else do we have here?"

Without waiting to see if someone else will start up, the dwarf, wearing a simple robe and a bright orange and teal scarf, steps forward and bows. "I am Tok. I am eager to begin our work together." Eyeing Drexel, he says, "I assume – and hope – not all of you are as familiar with the local officials as our newly arrived…colleague?"

Excellent! I wasn't actually going to read through the adventure up to this point, as my character would be coming in with no history or information to what has happened. Should I alter that thinking and read through the old posts? Also, when do you think you'll kick things back up?

Excellent! I'll go bookmark the thread and await my introduction. One quick question: Could I, perchance, gain the ability to use a bladed scarf? I think it'd be a fun addition to my character's abilities. Apart from my fists, that'd be the only weapon I carried (or wore, I suppose). It's not in line with the rules, so I completely understand if that doesn't work.

Gladly. I've updated his stats to reflect this campaign and setup. I went with the 20-point buy; I had some truly TERRIBLE rolls. I'm not familiar with where this adventure path goes, so if I need to adjust any of my skills, let me know. Thanks for considering me!
My character, for your review and (hopeful) approval. Tok
Background:
Tok, the heir to a long-line of merchant families, traveled with his father for many years. Destined to follow in his father's footstep and take over the family trade. Tok was uninspired by this life direction, but felt obligated to respect it. As a teenager, while visiting a large town, he happened to steal away for a few moments at the arena, where he witnessed a fight between an unarmed, unarmored monk and a heavily armored barbarian. The monk moved with fluidity and grace, easily dismantling the defenses of the barbarian and winning the fight - along with a healthy cash reward. Tok was enamored - not only by the ease with which the monk fought, but by the potential of earning significant cash rewards by scamming people into fighting an innocent-looking, unarmed dwarf. At the next major metropolitan center, he ran away from his father, stole away with merchants bound for Thuvia and managed (somehow) to convince the Thuvian monastery to allow him to study there. Despite his originally ignoble intentions, Tok came to admire the discipline of the monastic order. He fell in line with the teachings, dedicating himself to the perfection of his warrior-art and becoming increasingly comfortable talking about his past life. One night, while confiding to his closest friend, a half-elf monk, he confessed his original intentions for joining the monastery. He was overheard by an elder, who reported Tok's words to the head. His protests that he was deeply committed to the order were ignored. Tok was immediately expelled and forced to seek his own path. He made his way back to civilization, becoming a teacher of martial arts. After several years of aimless wandering, he arrived in Westcrown, hoping to find work as a teacher or bodyguard. Questions: 1. Why are you in Westcrown? I heard that there were numerous opportunities for unarmed martial artist experts, either as a bodyguard or trainer. 2. Given a chance would you hurl down the ruling houses and take their place? Or create a new form of government?
3. What will you be able to contribute to the group?
4. How do you expect the character to develop roleplay wise? Mechanically?
I'm a Hellknight about to lay down some police brutality down on you. What do you say to stop me from breaking off my spiked greaved boot in your butt?
