He's arrived. Tiny but perfectly healthy. I'm also ready to move forward, in more ways than one :)

Holidays were good. Pretty much relaxing and getting last minute prep done. If the baby doesn't come in the 36 hours, we are going to be induced, so he'll be here whether he likes it or not in the next 2 days ;)

"If they're going into the Briar and disappearing, maybe the treasure is not found. Maybe they were just too weak to survive it?" With that Timo plunks down 2 gold pieces on the counter. "I'll have your map"

I believe Thorn mentioned another knot failed him (I don't think the person we met in the mansion was part of a knot). The whereabouts of this other knot are unknown and Daidalos was searching for him.

I'm going to echo Daidalos. Get better. I kinda expected things to slow around this time of year

While Daidalos searches for Aiden, Timo decides to look a different way for the Horn. "Thorne mentioned under a large stone spire. I heard others around town mention several in the Care Brye with treasure beneath. Maybe I can find a map of the Care Brye that points these structures out and tell me which is the largest. We can't be the first that have gone looking for this 'treaure'."

I thought the location was known. I thought the other knot found the spire but then vanished. Am I misunderstanding something? Looking back at the wall of text it appears that the horn is under a great stone structure.

Also looking at the rumors I gathered, it appears there are several stone structures rising from the cayr baer (I'm sure I'm misspelling that one). I don't know how many towers there are but if there aren't many we could search them one by one

Apologies, I had a doctor's appointment friday and minor medical procedure yesterday (Everything is good) and didn't have time to post. I'd like to say I should be able to get back on daily, however, with the holidays and then my first son coming I may be a bit sporadic. Know that I am greatly enjoying this game and will post when I can.

Timo listens with great interest. As the baron offers his accord, Timo responds. "Your terms are most generous. We would gladly accept. your offer." He then takes a sip of the wine as a toast to their deal.

As the baron continues to speak, asking about the cardinal, Timo glances at Tiadora wondering how much to actually say. "I can't let the lapdog think I have anything but awe for the cardinal. I'll have to keep things vague"

"I seek nothing as noble as Daidalos or grandiose as my friend Morthos here. For me, its personal. The cardinal is offering me nothing more than simple vengeance against my family. I look forward to the day I can look upon them and they realize how high their despised half-breed rose and how far they have fallen."

Its good with me. Daidalos tends to be more of our face man. Work blocked Paizo's website so I need to find my post times a bit more. I know there used to be an android app that posted. Does anyone know what it was?

Timo arrives at the house dressed as one befitting a lord meeting with a baron. When asked for his weapon, he surrenders his dagger as he had left all other remaining weapons stored in his room. As they are welcomed into the room, Timo gives a perfunctory nod to the servant. He then takes a glass of wine as he peruses the rest of the parlor while listening to the conversations at hand.

I can't see anyway to wear a big sword in fine clothing.

Timo takes the brief time of respite to enjoy himself. He starts with a hot bath. Enjoying the feel of the warm waters loosen his muscles. As he finishes he glances at his clothes. "These won't do, I'll have to get something nicer to meet with the baron." Timo then lets out a sigh. "At least this will be a dinner where I can be one of the guests and not something to be despised.

With that thought he got dressed in his simple clothes. Before leaving, his eyes fell upon his blade. "Perhaps I should see if this backwater town has a proper blade."

Wandering around town listening for any rumors I may hear. Also looking to buy a +1 no dachi if possible

As Tiadora comes out and mentions their master is here, Timo goes stiff. "He's here? He takes a breath to center himself, before entering the cabin. "Do not let him see your weakness." Timo thinks to himself.

As the cardinal goes over his plan, Timo finds a place near the back of the room. He can't help but think this is insane. "Summon a demon, convince it to give us a deadly plague, and then release it? Are we to rule the land or the ashes? Affriya then speaks up voicing the same concerns. "Interesting at least I'm not alone in thinking this is madness. Regardless, is this something we can even accomplish?" he thinks as he looks to Daidalos.

As if reading his mind, Daidalos then responds. "He obviously thinks he can do it, though whether this is hubris or actual ability remains to be seen." When Thorne then excuses them, Timo leaves the room quickly in order to be out of Thorne's presence

Timo largely ignores the cold on their voyage, his dmonic heritage keeping most of it at bay. On the first day of their journey, Timo sees the sign of battle at a local village. "Sakkarot works fast." he thinks to himself before going off to find something else to occupy is time on this boat.

When the next morning appears more of the same, "We are too far away for this to be the bugbears" It is then that Timo notices Tiadora and Daidalos discussing the village. "It is all very tragic. Do these little villages even matter though? They are small and insignificant"

Timo laughs audibly at the mention of being lords. "IF only my grandparents could see me now. I only hope they live long enough to see their precious Talengrade fall." As they continue to the boat, Timo's joviality leaves him as he lays eye on the boat. "So much for lords..." he mutters under his breath.

As Tiadora retires, Timo sighs. "Hopefully she stays in there so I don't have to see her." With that thought, he finds a clear space on the deck and lays out. "Thirteen days? How am I supposed to keep myself entertained for thirteen days?"

Sorry ... I got unexpectedly busy the last few days. I apologize if I kept things held up.

Timo enjoys the relaxation and the revelry, particularly with the reuniting with Grumblejack. Timo didn't realize how much he missed having the simple behemoth around.

With the large crash outside, Timo goes from relaxed to on guard as his hand moves to his hilt. When the door opens and Tiadora reveals herself, an icy chill goes down his back as he grows rigid. "The master's dog. I shouldn't be surprised he didn't come himself." Timo listens as Daidalos reads the note. "Of course more commands are coming. He commands and we obey"

Timo remains silent, allowing the others to respond, not trusting himself to speak.

Daidalos's idea for planning I think would work

Timo breathes deeply, letting the excitement of battle leave him. He surveys the carnage. "Pathetic... A whole castle of soldiers and not a true fighter among them." As he the rest of their group gloats to the fallen commander Timo turns and walks away. "Why bother with him, he's beneath us. Kill him, take his soul, or let him watch the fall, it makes no difference." With that thought, he follows Affyria to the battlements to watch the oncoming storm.

I have this really messed up picture in my head of this army of orcs crashing the castle to find it completely empty except for us sitting around a table playing cards

I don't know if this would work, but we do have a siege weapon on this side of the bridge. We could launch them at the gate house and force them all to flee or die (or just clearing out the top) allowing us to open the gate.

We should probably destroy/sabatoge the the siege weapons and burn the arrow stores. Getting into the gatehouse may be problematic if they truly barricaded themselves in.

I have my first coming in January.

Does DR apply at all to the mobs? I know the arrows are piercing, what are the other guys?

Timo grunts as the arrows clip him a bit harder. He then braces as the second wave approaches and arcs his blade across them.

PAoO: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
damage: 1d10 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15

The next wave washes over him and he strikes out at them before retreating up the stairs

As the arrows fly by Timo, he lets out a feral grin as one of the arrows scrapes his shoulder. "Is that all the famed protectors of Talingarde have? Pathetic... Just like your late lord Havelyn..."

With that Timo braces himself against the oncoming wave of soldiers. As they near he swings his blade in a low arc, hoping to cleave as many as possible.

I don't think there are currently any active attack or damage bonuses

If the wave is defeated, Timo will back up the stairs and ready an action to attack any wave that follows. If the waive isn't defeated, apply the following attack and then move up the stairs

Power attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
damage: 1d10 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14

HP:47/53 (if AoO killed the wave) 38/53 (if AoO did not kill the wave)

maybe this as a plan. Daidalos starts at the bottom of the stairs with an action ready to fireball the soldiers as soon as the door opens then run up the stairs. I can start downstairs with him providing cover. Everyone else can start at the top of the stairs ready to pick them off as they follow us

I think we have two options.
1) we take them in the hall. It keeps their numbers limited. Morthos and I can keep anyone from getting past. Daidalos can probably fireball a good chunk of them away

2) we take them at the top of the stairs, eliminating their ranged weapons from helping.

These options can be combined

perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Timo finishes putting on the armor as the sounds begin to shift. A murderous glint appears in his eyes as he grips his weapon.

"Get ready. I think they're finally ready to play"

sounds right as far as Timo is concerned

Listening to the outside of door, Timo can't help but laugh. "Funny... they think they can trap us in here? If Brandescar couldn't hold us, would a hasty barricade?" Sensing he has some time, Timo relaxes his stance and begins to change armor. "Havelyn wasn't worthy enough for armor as fine as this."

As he dons the new armor, Timo responds to Morthos's barb. "Don't die? IF the great paladin of Mitra couldn't touch me, what hope do the rest of these fools have?

I'm fairly good on HP. Currently sitting at 51/53

Timo will continue to stand guard at the door listening for any signs that the guards are near

Timo smiles as the suit of armor magically transforms. "Simply beautiful," he thinks to himself. He then glances at the door. "Maybe later." Timo then rises while the others search the area and calls out to the rest of the party, "Take your time. I'll take care of whatever comes through that door." Timo then makes his way back down the hall, making sure to stand over the body of the fallen guard. He holds his blade ready, waiting for anything to come through the door.

Moving to the end of the hall (outside of the path of the door) ready to attack anything that is foolish enough to open the door

We did stop the fleeing guard but not before he was able to shout out that there were traitors in the keep. The paladin came from the floor above while the guard ran down. Down leads to a single hallway entrance that would make a defensible choke point.

Refelex: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Timo shrugs off the bite of the ice into his skin. He takes a quick glance to the door. Not seeing any immediate concern of anyone entering, he gives the paladin's body a kick before examining his remains for anything of use. As he does so he remarks to the group rather nonchalantly.

"The way I see it we have three options. One, we can stay and force them down them down the hallway. This way they won't have the numerical advantage on us. Two, we sneak out the way we came in and come back another night. The castle is on high alert now but they can't remain that way and have no way of sending for quick help. Finally option three," Timo says with a murderous glint in his eye, "we kill every last person in here tonight while there is chaos and they are without leadership."

And that makes 5 .... at least my haste attack wasn't a 1

After missing the ice golem completely, Timo swings again hoping to destroy the beast.

Timo hears the guards calls and has begins to laugh. "I wish I could see the look on their face when they find out all the ravens are dead." He then glances back up the hall towards golem and sighs "Why won't that thing die?"

With a quick look back at the closed door he makes his way back up the hall and swings at the construct.

I may have have some geography messed up but I want to move basically back up the hall next to Morthos. I believe this will put me so I can attack the golem from the stairwell while still forcing any guards coming in to walk through my threatened squares to get to the rest of the party

Going off the hope that others may not have heard the soldier's cry through the closed doors and stone walls, Timo charges the guard with his blade raised. "And if the alarm has been raised this will be the perfect spot to take them one by one until their bodies form a new wall."

With the boards down and then Labor day I've been out but I'm back now

I have been trying to get on Paizo's boards for a week now. This is the first time I can actually get something that isn't a ratling to show up

How far along are you? I had a teisatsu (archetype of vigilante) that was in a CotCT game. The game died shortly after the fight with Gaedren

I appear to be missing from the map. I think I was in the space between affyria and the corpse of the paladin but I don't recall. Also , I believe there were two guards. Did we kill one of them and the other is currently in the stairwell, or did one make it down the stairwell and the second is in the stairwell?

I think we're still waiting on Morthos and raven?

Timo puts the banter of the his comrade's out of his mind and focuses solely on his opponent. Everything else fades away as Timo looks for his opening. As the paladin wobbles slightly coming off the grease, Timo sees his opportunity and springs into action. Timo deftly moves towards the paladin. As he does, the sign of Asmodeus flashes through his disguise and his blade glows with darkness. He then swings at the paladin in an upward arc, aiming for a weak spot between the plates

Power Attack: 1d20 + 10 + 4 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 10 + 4 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 30
