"A map? I can kind of make a map, yes." Timeon starts to draw a crude map of what appears to be a fortress. "Yes, it has two levels. And a tower. The Commander sleeps there. And a rookery, very very important. Lots of birds to send messages and requests."

As Timeon draws, his eyes kind of glaze over. "The Commander is a cold man, very cold. Always looks for bad people, sees it in their hearts. Timeon shouldn't tell this, the Commander will see."

Timeon shakes his head a minute as his eyes start to refocus, but quickly loses sight of whatever he was seeing. "The Commander has four captains, yes. Most senior is Captain Barhold. He's nice to me, Iron Sam is, treats all soldiers nice.

"Next Captain Mott. He gruff and rough and kinda mean. But Captain Mott's wife very pretty, very pretty, but she is bad person. She is committing great crime against Mott." Timeon scans the room, shushing you before continuing. "It's secret most not know. Timeon learned by accident, no one but Sir Eldon knows. Kaitlyn is cheating with Captain Eddarly." A mortified look comes over Timeon's face. "But don't tell Captain Mott! Captain Mott very jealous, do not nice things if find out!"

"Captain Eddarly pretty too, but pretty like man. Why Kaitlyn like him. Spend too much time making armor pretty. Good archer, very good. Long pretty hair make look like elf from old book I read."

"Last Captain Varning. He likes horses, makes many trips north of wall. Knows land very well, take Timeon once. Have nice campfire."

"Timeon not know much more."

At a different time, Shulme sits by Timeon as the squire comes to. The sorcerer practically broods in the darkness of the unlit room.

"Tell me the tales the Iomedaeans tell of Balentyne."

"Balentyne? Yes, I know Balentyne, I served there for a while. Before going with Sir Eldon I did that is. I am a son of House Balentyne, in fact. What does Sir Eldon need of me?"

Male Human Squire

The squire stands, though shakily, unsure what to make of the situation. "Master Eldon, Timeon wants to sleep. Is it okay, Master Eldon?"

Male Human Squire

A confused look comes over Timeon's face. "Forswear Iomedae? To serve her for so long, but to now forswear? I...I..." Timeon visibly struggles with himself fighting against the urge. With one look up to Sir Eldon's head, tears in his eyes, "I f-forswear Iomedae...." He then buries his head into his hands, tears streaming from around the edges.

Male Human Squire

Timeon turns to a sitting position and reaches out a hand towards Gwyn. "Master Eldon says don't fear death, right Master Eldon? We'll join him, and join Iomedae beyond. Redeption will await, a second chance there will be."

Male Human Squire

"Poke, Master Eldon? Who needs poked, Master Eldon? Timeon find a poker to poke the pokee with, Master Eldon."

Not sure how long that'll take to not be funny to me.

Male Human Squire

"Timeon listen, Master Eldon. Timeon obey, Master Eldon."

Male Human Squire

Timeon turns to look at Sir Eldon's head before responding. "Master Eldon says you're confused. Master Eldon says you'll find redemption in the mines. Master Eldon says I have to help you find redemption. Timeon listen to Master Eldon. Timeon save confused girl."

"Master Eldon wouldn't do that. Iomedae will protect. Master Eldon was a good man. Iomedae will protect. Asmodeans are the monsters. Iomedae will protect. Iomedae will protect. Iomedae will protect." Timeon hugs himself tightly, grabbing his legs and pulling them close, eyes staring on the one point of stability in this room of madness, the hilt of the dagger, a weapon. A weapon that may as well not exist, for he has not the spirit to grasp it. Finally, he looks up to the head upon Teon's hand. "What's that, Master Eldon? Help the girl, Master Eldon? Of course, Master Eldon. That's what knights do, Master Eldon. Timeon will help the girl in danger, Master Eldon. Timeon's a good squire, Master Eldon."

"O-of course I do...."

Price wrote:
Price leans against a wall, her tone mild. "If you're going to suffer and die in the service of the notoriously inflexible Iomedae, you really need to sharpen your knowledge of Cosmology. Asmodeans go to Hell, not the Abyss."

"I, I don't care w-what hole y-you crawl into."

Male Human Squire

"You monster...." Timeon's resolve shows signs of faltering, and if pressed will break into tears. His spirit appears broken.

Male Human Squire

"Better to die in Iomedae's service." The squire puts on a brave face, but he does not rise from the floor.

Male Human Squire

For a moment, Timeon stares and attempts to discern what he says. As his eyes begin to focus on the unseeing eyes of Sir Eldon, a sudden rage overtakes the young squire, leaping at the form of Teon. "DIE, ASMODEAN SCUM AND BURN IN THE PITS OF THE ABYSS!!"

Male Human Squire

An expression of pure hope comes across Timeon's face, the most life you have seen him to date. "That's, that's wonderful. Is he okay? Please, take me to him! Thank you so much, thank you."

I just had an expression of This

Male Human Squire

"By Iomedae, you still live!" Timeon visibly pales after he speaks. "I mean, of course. I'm free to go now, right?"

Male Human Squire

"Kill me? But I have an entire alias devoted to me!"

Male Human Squire

Out of order on posts, this one should be before last one.

Timeon stands resolutely, though out of dread waiting for his fate rather than resolve against his captors. As you all speak, and the words pierce the squires fallen hopes, he begins to see he may yet survive this encounter. "I h-have completed your task. I...I won't r-run. I will wait here until you return." He attempts to put up a good cover, but this is an act of desperation, clear to all.

An appraisal of the necklace determines that it is nearly worthless, a mere 5gp for the materials used in it's creation. The pendant is silver, but the eyes are colored glass, not sapphire.

An extended search of the room where the pedastel was located reveals a secret passage to the west of the stairwell. The passage beyond goes south and wraps around to the east, traveling to a doorway below the room with a pedastel. The inscription above the doorway reads...

While traveling the secret passage, you spot another secret doorway going west where the hallway bends to go back east.

The young squire stands in the doorway, his head towards the floor, before he speaks gaze still averted. "I-I have the pendant. W-what now?" He doesn't move from the doorway, except a small sideways shuffle to allow Bostarg through if needed.

Male Human Squire

"That.....that can't be how it would go. I'm ...loyal." Timeon begins to quiet as the two of you approach, the conflict on his face obvious. As you make it to the doorway, he halts for a moment and stutters out, "What are they, you, going to do with me now? Does it even matter if I worry?" He doesn't look at you as he speaks, waiting only a moment before starting back in.

Timeon pales at Bostarg's words buy says nothing. He takes a cautious step forward, seeming to consider his options, then suddenly darts out in a dash towards the pendant. Moving with surprising speed he reaches the pedestal and snatches the pendant, quickly turning with a practiced stride rushing back to the doorway to collapse by the entrance, clutching his prize to his chest. He breathes heavily as he falls to his knees by the doorway, more from fear than exertion it would seem.

He turns to you as he stands, a defiant look in his eyes. "I don't believe you." he mutters in a quiet voice standing tall as he moves to head back to the others, pendant in hand. But Bostarg sees through the facade, the sweat forming on his forehead, the way he clenches his hands, the hollow look in his eyes. Fear and desparation controls his actions, not resolve.

"G-go? B-back to Balentyne o-of course. N-not sure where we're at though, don't know how far it is. T-though to go back with Sir Eldon or Sir Balin...." The young boy softens again for a moment, only to tense back, his mind wandering to why he would not have either of the knights. "D-do I really n-need to be the one to g-get it?"

Male Human Squire

"I-I know nothing of any plans, only t-that w-we were to m-meet him. S-Sir Eldon didn't share anything else." Timeon then slowly moves around and heads out of the room to retrieve the pendant.

As the gnome materializes from the shadows, Timeon first gives a small start, but continues on with small but hurried steps. As the gnome makes conversation, Timeon seems to relax for a moment, perhaps just the non-threatening words, perhaps coming from someone who looks unlike a threat, but it lasts for only a moment before the fear returns to his eyes.

Arriving at the room with the pendant, Timeon gives a hard look at the stairs from the corner of his eyes, looking like he may decided to bolt anyway. His gaze turns to the gnome, almost looking expectantly. 'D-Do you think it's t-trapped?"

Male Human Squire

"A p-pendant? It s-sounds like my m-master's. I-it's silver and s-sapphire. B-but I don't know w-where he is. We were c-capture, S-Sir Eldon and I on o-our way to Branderscar. H-he wanted to l-look u-upon the t-traitor's face b-before he was s-sent to die. We were t-to meet Sir Balin t-there." He looks fearfully at Alazandaru as he speaks.

"A-after I awoke, I was chased by a m-man throwing hellfire and s-some woman. I overheard t-them speaking, t-talking about this p-place. There's a r-room with metal snakes in it. And b-beyond that stairs leading out, though the hellfire man s-said there's a s-secret d-door on the o-other side of it. T-then there's a r-room with some kind of l-light fearing f-fungus in it, and a room w-where the dead walk b-beyond t-that."

Male Human Squire

"I-I-I, the r-rack..." Timeon's eyes go wide with fear at the though. "I-Iomedae, she w-wouldn't abandon m-me, n-no, I-I-I...." He suddenly begins to cry in the corner. "W-what d-do you w-want to k-k-know?"

Male Human Squire

The squire takes a closer look at Alazandaru, a hopeful look appearing in his eyes. "Alazandaru! It's me, Timeon! I can't believe a familiar face. I had heard you were...." Just as quickly a shocked look appears, registering not only his words, but the meaning behind his appearance.

"I-I-I, w-what do you w-want? I w-won't help Asmodeans! Iomedae will s-save me!" He curls up in a ball tighter and tries crawling further in the wall, the rock in his hands falling to the ground as he does so.

Bluff DC 11:
He's obviously lying and very afraid.

The doorway easily opens to reaveal a young man, dressed in chain and wearing a tabard indicating his rank as that of a squire. The young man is obviously afraid, cowardly rolled up in the corner, a rock in his hands held up more as a shield than a weapon. "D-d-don't c-come any c-closer!"

Alazandaru:
You recognize this young man from your service to Sir Balin. This is the squire to Sir Balin's son, Sir Eldon.

Male Human Squire

"I-I'll just s-stay here. I-I'm fine." He seems to listen intently to Xanos's dialogue, though his response is not hopeful. "Y-yes s-sir, will d-do sir."

Sense Motive DC 10:
He's lying about staying put.

Male Human Squire

"N-not much. I-I've been hiding here f-for t-three d-days." As if on queue, his stomache suddenly growls.

Male Human Squire

"T-the last time I s-saw him, w-we were escorting a p-prisoner to Branderscar. But the witch a-attacked us, t-the one she l-looked like. You're n-not r-r-really her, a-are you? Hesitant to answer, a glance at the rack opens him up. "We...were traveling back to m-meet his father. H-he had j-just f-finished infiltrating a b-bunch of Asmodeans, m-most of 'em killed o-off. A c-couple w-were s-sent to Branderscar. The p-plan was to g-go m-meet Sir Balin, t-then head up to Balentyne, w-where I'm f-from. But w-we were ambushed, and I w-woke up here. I d-don't know where he is." The squire becomes crestfallen at the end, upset he doesn't know where this Sir Eldon is.

Male Human Squire

Condescending and rehtorical can be pretty intimidating...when there's a rack, an ogre, and Cain backing you up. And you did mention the rack ;p

The cowering man begins to search his memories, looking to find whatever information may keep him off the table. "T-the man, the one with the H-Hellfire. I w-was in his closet, l-listening to him and the witch. T-they were talking about d-down here. T-to the south and, um east I believe. M-metal s-snakes were there. A-and more, though n-not sure w-w-what he meant. He c-called it gr-gratification for l-lessons learned.

"T-then south of that one, a s-s-secret d-door across from some stairs h-hides a way out. That leads to a r-room of darkness, where light or m-movement calls a t-terrible scream to come out. A s-scream that calls the d-d-dead from a-another chamber.

"And Sir Eldon. H-he is here t-too. Poor S-sir Eldon. He was finally g-going to s-see his father again, Sir Balin. S-so much w-work, b-bringing d-down a bunch of A-Asmodeans..." He suddenly clamps his mouth shut with both hands, a terrified look in his eyes.

Male Human Squire

The squire quickly falls to his knees, the fear of the device clear in his eyes. "N-n-n-n-n-noooo, please don't I beg you. Don't make me get into that contraption, please I beg of you. Please spare me, I will tell you all I know!"

For a moment, the young Timeon stares at you, leaving you believing he ponders your words. You realize the truth as soon as he opens his mouth. "But my goddess's hand reaches everywhere. It is my faith that protects me and keeps me safe. It is why I'm here." The thoughts of his goddess seem to strenghten his resolve. He begins to quote what can only be scripture.

Iomedae Scripture wrote:

"In brightest day, in blackest night,
No evil shall escape my sight
Let those who worship evil's might,
Beware my power, By Iomedae's light!!!

Male Human Squire

The young man watches, seems abit hopeful, but refocuses his stares on Cain and Grumblejack. "T-then why w-would you travel w-with monsters? I-I-I don't understand?"

As Price changes, his eyes widen abit. "Vile e-enchantress! S-say what you want, I re-re-refuse to believe you. And I w-won't help any Asmodeans either!" He points to the symbol on Teon's neck as he says the last part.

Price:
His faith in Iomedae is quite strong on the surface, though he is deathly afraid of you all. He seems incredibly relieved at Xanos's assessment of the rack.

Male Human Squire

"Y-you may think y-your clever you witch! I remember you, woman! You were with the man throwing Hellfire, flying around!! Iomedae will s-save me, even in d-d-death! W-what have you d-done with Sire Eldon?"

Knowledge (Nobility) DC 20:
The name Sir Eldon is the name of the son of Sir Balin of Karfield, and up and coming knight who has shown his skill several times.

Male Human Squire

A search of the room reveals a hidden doorway in the southwest corner of the room. No traps to be found, opening the doorway reveals a young man, dressed in a chain shirt and a dirty tabard*. The young man is unarmed and obviously afraid. He looks over your group, eyes settling on the Asmodean symbol adorning Teon's neck. "Asmodeans. Y-you w-will not t-take me a-alive!" His voice stutters and breaks as he speaks, desparately looking around for a weapon even as he cowers in the corner of the small 10x10 room.

Can't update map, at work now and helping a friend move after.

Knowledge Nobility DC10:
The crest on the tabard denotes him as a squire.
