Tilurn was the unfortunate result of one of the frequent orc raids into his small, mining village of Summeriron nestled into the Kassar mountain region. His mother, Cylilla, died giving birth, but her brother, Tsidor, a village elder, saw a glimmering aura surrounding the babe as he fought for life. The glimmering ceased, but Tsidor, intrigued, took Tilurn into his own family and raised the child as his own.
A constant reminder of the savagery of the orc attacks, half orcs were barely tolerated in the village. Tilurn learned from an early age that he needed to fight to survive. Often bullied by his human peers, Tilurn grew adept at fending them off with savage brutality. Tsidor, knowing that Tilurn needed to learn to live with humans in order to survive, taught young Tilurn how to control his rage tendencies and release it only when needed. Tsidor also nurtured the spiritual side of Tilurn. He sent the young boy on his own into the mountains to tend some goats. The boy spent countless hours watching the goats graze on the snippets of grass among craggy outcroppings. It was during these times that Tilurn felt most at peace, almost as if he was one with the mountain spirits.
By the time Tilurn turned 18, he had grown to a height of 6'2". He inherited his mother's flowing reddish brown hair, and kept it long and unbraided over his shoulders. Inspired by Tsidor's dream that Tilurn become a valuable member within the community, Tilurn has set out from Summeriron to seek his fortune and liberate his world from the dark creatures to the west.
