And that is part of what I'm enjoying about your games, the attention to the finer points and details - I enjoy them as a practical learning experience and it is great to have a GM who spots all these finer points.

The hassle with this creature is the DCs seem like it would be hard to inflict too many of the debuffs, like demoralise , it would be a tough to hit DC and you'd need a feat invested to not suffer the -4 penalty, and if it managed to stick the debuff is then offline for 10 mins. My observation is it is easier to buff the party up to the challenge than debuff the mob down to an easier target - we dont have hard DCs to beat when being nice to our friends :p

Fun fight though!

Thurgan seems concerned about the ghostly limb, largely wondering what the Pharasmins would think of such a thing and the nature of it. He decides it's all too esoteric for now, and that business at hand is more critical - he helps Pei look for any clues...

"It would help the bear, his nose is good, but who wants to rely on that in the dark in a room full of strange smells?" The orc almost jests "Some extra light would be welcome, but I can usually see well without it"

HP 96 | AC 25/27 | Fort +14; Ref +10; Will +12 | Perc +10 (DV) | Speed 25 |

The brooding-looking Orc listens intently. Cloaked in a mantle of ash-grey fur hood (pulled high to avoid scrutiny and people worried about "marauding orcs"), a crudely crafted wooden symbol of Pharasma, iron plate, and a battered shield slung across his back and vicious-looking weapons within easy reach.

A restless juvenile bear tugs impatiently at the length of rope lashed to his belt, growling occasionally in frustration.

"I am Thurgan, devotee of Pharasma, and this is Grump" he gestures to the bear. He pauses, his eyes searching the eyes of those at the meeting to determine who is who in the room.

" Transformations? What do we know of them?"

Thurgan / Grump (Nik B.)

I've seen Thurgan before, so I don't have a lot of comments or questions, but is the religious symbol going to be connected to anything from March of the Dead?

Thurgan’s hand grips the small holy symbol at his throat, roughly crafted and deep in meaning. Wood pulled from the chapel of Pharasma on Lady’s Hill. Lawric had given it to him when they parted after their work purging the stain of undeath from Fiorna's Faith, no speeches, just a call to purpose and a simple phrase "THIS WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN BY THE LADY".

Thurgan exhales deeply, driving calm into his body to fight off the sense of concern. The halfling had always walked too close to death, trusting fate and Pharasma to see him through. Thurgan wonders who stands between Lawric and the dark now, and the thought leaves him uneasy. Duty lingers, even when the one you guard is gone.

HP 96 | AC 25/27 | Fort +14; Ref +10; Will +12 | Perc +10 (DV) | Speed 25 |

Indeed, Thurgan was less worried about the occasional 'repurposing' of dead peoples things as it meant Galimus was around doing the greater good of destroying the undead - what are a few abandoned earthly possessions versus the greater good of Her Ladys will being done and the undead put to rest?

It was an interesting moral dilemma, but I was happy to see us navigate it so well!

Huzzah! Great game GM! I really enjoyed th party dynamics there - and I quite liked where Thurgan ended up as a character, and the feeling that Grump had his own personality rather than just be a 'pet'. The combats were challenging, and things got super ugly at times.

Great party overall, and I thank you all for the great contributions. I can just see Lawric, Thurgan, and Grump heading back to the town to purge it and trying to talk the others into coming :)

And yes - big thanks GMWS!

Thurgan feels entirely vexed at spending the entire combat down a hole and mostly defeated by a piece of rope. On the other hand Grump seems entirely satisfied, and only the cracking of bone is heard as the bear playfully bashes away at the remains, once they have been stripped of interesting information.

Thurgan reads the letter "Lawric, I see we have more work to do, spreading the Lady's good gospel"

***

Prisoners

Thurgan pulls his crowbar out of his pack and gets to work popping locks with brute athletic force. "Some of the villagers perished, Lawric. Are we looking to re-sanctify this town, or shall it be a bonfire? I'm thinking short term we burn the bodies, as who knows how deep the rot here has gone - but I pledge to stand by your side should you wish to cut out what plagues this place"

***

The Pool

Thurgan pulls the bodies form the pool "More for the pyre"

"We DO need to gather what identification we can so that should we restore the village any next of kin can be reuninted with their inheritance, or for those who no longer concern themselves with the living world, their chattels used to restore and rebuild"

***

Exiting the warrens

"If the accusation is that the undead stil plague this place, then I am the wrong person to suggest packs their bags and leaves - should my sworn enemies still be plaguing town then it is my holy duty to weed them out. My pride does not dictate such things, just my sense of duty, and should Lawric counsel otherwise I would reconsider and accept the simple burning of the town - though it fills me with ire to concede defeat in such a way"
