Sweet idea Wolfsnap! I've always liked the background and fluff of the Wardancer :-)

Not to rain on your parade, but by chosing the Savage Barbarian you forego Damage Reduction

Natural Toughness (Ex)

At 7th level, the savage barbarian gains a +1 natural armor bonus to AC when wearing no armor (shields are allowed). This bonus increases by +1 for every three levels beyond 7th.

This ability replaces damage reduction.

I personally like your idea about using the Barbarian as a base for your Build.

The Beast Totem Rage Power tree might be something you want to look into though.
Lesser Beast Totem
Beast Totem
Greater Beast Totem

Thanks mdt!

Hi guys

It's been a while since this old bad boy was in play last.

My group and I are about to start a new Campaign soon (Kingmaker), and since the release of both the Advenced Players Guide, Ultimate Magic and Ultimate Combat, I think my idea can work.

If I choose the Urban Barbarian Archetype I should be able to use my Bardic Performance while Raging (Controlled Rage), as I'm still able to use Intelligence-, Dexterity-, and Charisma-based skills.

What do you guys think, is this doable rules wise? Or am I mistaken?

I hope you guys can help me!

I'm looking for a picture of a hammer wielding Paladin or Battle Oracle, for use in a norse inspired campaign.
I've been going through a lot af Google picture searches without any luck.

Please and thank you.

I'm doing a Summoner Synthesist for a forthcoming game, and I have a couple of questions, I hope you guys can help me with.

And yes, I've tried searching other threads for an answer and have come up blank.

How do I calculate hitpoints for my Summoner? If my Summoner has Con 10, and then changes to a Quadruped with Con 13, does he gain +1 HP. And what happens with this one extra hitpoint it the Eidolon is slain or banished? This can become fatal for my Summoner if I choose to use Fused Link.
It clearly states that: "While fused with his eidolon, the synthesist uses the eidolon’s physical ability scores (Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution)..."

Next question: Do I (I being the Summoner) gain the Quadrupeds movement (40 feet) instead of my own (Human, 30 feet)?
It states that: "The synthesist also gains access to the eidolon’s special abilities..."

That's about it from me, for now.

Hope you can help me.

Dervish Dance.

Yes, but doesn't that feat (Dervish Dance) require Weapon Finesse?

I think i read that somewhere...

In which book is Dervish Dance?

The idea was to have an elven dex based Magus (or other fighter/magic user). I think the idea stems from the old D&D where elves were a character class, with an equal mix of magic and fighting ability. And yes I know that I could just drop the Curveblad. But I would also like to a two handed character that wasn't str based. You can still be dangerous in hand to hand, just pick Power Attack...

Well, enough of my ramblings.

The Grandfather wrote:

Hi Thomas,

Your elven magus can use his curveblade freely with Spell Strike.
He cannot however wield a two-handed weapon when using Spell Combat.
He could enlarge himself and afterwards pick up the normalsiced curveblade and use it in one hand, but that would entail a -2 penalty for inappropiate size.

In 3.5 there was a monkey grip feat, wich would allow you to use a larger weapon, but I don't think it allowed to reduce the effort needed for two-handed weapons.

RAW there is no way in PRPG for you to use a curveblade with Spell Combat. With Spell Strike you are ok.

PS: Are you from Denmark?

Damn, there goes that idea, but then again I can always wield a one handed weapon two-handed...

And yes I'm from Denmark, why do you ask?

Quick question:
Can an elven Magus wield a Curveblade (two-handed) and still benefit from Spell Combat and Spell Strike?
If not, is there a feat or something else that will allow him to do so?

Hi guys

I have a question I hope you can help me with:

I would like to begin publishing Adventures, hopefully full Adventure Chronicles (Paths), and don't know if it's allowed to make use of the Golarion Campaign setting, it's not listed under Paizo Publishing, LLC Pathfinder® Roleplaying Game Compatibility License.

The reason why I ask, is because I very much like the setting Paizo have created.

I have a question I hope you will be able to help me with.

If a Barbarian chooses lesser Beast totem and also wields a one-handed weapon, will he then get a Primary Claw attack and a Primary One handed weapon attack?

Beast Totem, Lesser (Su): While raging, the barbarian gains two claw attacks. These attacks are considered primary attacks and are made at the barbarian’s full base attack bonus. The claws deal 1d6 points of slashing damage (1d4 if Small) plus the barbarian’s Strength modifier.

It doesn't state that you aren't allowede to use a one-handed weapon in your main hand and the make a claw attack with your off hand.

Hi guys

You always seems to come through with an answer for me, so here goes.

I've been reading allot about the Monk on this forum, and was wondering:

Equipping a Monk with brass knuckles means that he has a magic weapon he can enchant or just make masterwork and still do his amount of unarmed damage - which is really nice.

But does he need one or two brass knuckles (e.g. two weapons to enchant) or just the one? Or does brass knuckles count as a pair (e.g. one dual-weapon, so to speak)?

I'll end this post with a little math ;-)

One enchanted brass knuckles
+1 - 2.000 GP
+2 - 8.000 GP
+3 - 18.000 GP

Two enchanted brass knuckles
+1 - 4.000 GP
+2 - 16.000 GP
+3 - 36.000 GP

Which is the correct one?

Anyway it's still cheaper then buying an amulet of Mighty fist.

Hey all

Hope you can help me.
If I play a Core Rulebook Monk and want to take the Elemental Fist feat, when can I take it and how does it work when and if I do? I don't want to play a Monk of the Four Winds.

I hope you guys can help me.

I would like to play a mounted multiclass halfling Barbarian/Druid, and would like my Druid animal companion to keep advancing when I'm taking levels as a Barbarian. Is there anyway I can make this happen?
In the good old 3.5 there was feat called Natural Bond (Complete adventures):
Add three to your Effective Druid level (not to exceed your Character level) for determining your Animal Companion’s bonuses. If you have more than one Animal Companion, this feat applies to only one.

Hope you can help me

Thanks for the advice Kilbourne, I'm sure I can use most of it. Always nice to gets some help.

One quick question though, what's a Gestalt Class, I've heard the term mentioned before, but never could figure it out?

"You can't use any ability that requires concentration while raging, nor can you use any Charisma-based skill other than Intimidate (so Perform is out). Thus, only a few of the bardic music abilities are available to a raging bard:

* Countersong: No (Perform check required).
* Fascinate: No (Perform check required).
* Inspire Courage: Yes.
* Inspire Competence: Only lasts 1 round per use (concentration required).
* Suggestion: No, because you can't use fascinate.
* Inspire Greatness: Yes.
* Song of Freedom: No (requires concentration).
* Inspire Heroics: Yes.
* Mass Suggestion: No, because you can't use fascinate."

Awesome Name Violation, thanks for the above.

Kilbourne wrote:

I couldn't agree more. I'm not about to fascinate or use suggestion on anyone while I'm charging head first into the enemy.

Also, nice to see that I'm not the only one with this idea. Any advice for a would-be Bard/Barbarian KilBourne?

Actually, check out the Savage Skald option in the Advanced Player's Guide (page 84).

I would very much like to, but I don't have the book. I didn't think it was published?

Do you have some inside information you could share?

Damn, it could be so cool having a raging barbarian charging the enemy singing battle hymns at the top of his lungs and inspiring his fellows to greater acts og courage.

But I do see you point, sadly enough.

2 people marked this as FAQ candidate.

I'm currently toying with an idea of making a Bard/Barbarian, and I would like to know If Bardic performance ends when you rage? I would start the Performance and then Rage in the round after OR imidiatly after - it being a free action.

I the rules for Bardic performance it says: A bard is trained to use the Perform skill to create magical effects on those around him, including himself if desired. He can use this ability for a number of rounds per day equal to 4 + his Charisma modifier. At each level after 1st a bard can use bardic performance for 2 additional rounds per day. Each round, the bard can produce any one of the types of bardic performance that he has mastered, as indicated by his level.

Starting a bardic performance is a standard action, but it can be maintained each round as a free action. Changing a bardic performance from one effect to another requires the bard to stop the previous performance and start a new one as a standard action. A bardic performance cannot be disrupted, but it ends immediately if the bard is killed, paralyzed, stunned, knocked unconscious, or otherwise prevented from taking a free action to maintain it each round. A bard cannot have more than one bardic performance in effect at one time.

And the rules for Rage reads: A barbarian can call upon inner reserves of strength and ferocity, granting her additional combat prowess. Starting at 1st level, a barbarian can rage for a number of rounds per day equal to 4 + her Constitution modifier. At each level after 1st, she can rage for 2 additional rounds. Temporary increases to Constitution, such as those gained from rage and spells like bear's endurance, do not increase the total number of rounds that a barbarian can rage per day. A barbarian can enter rage as a free action. The total number of rounds of rage per day is renewed after resting for 8 hours, although these hours do not need to be consecutive.

While in rage, a barbarian gains a +4 morale bonus to her Strength and Constitution, as well as a +2 morale bonus on Will saves. In addition, she takes a –2 penalty to Armor Class. The increase to Constitution grants the barbarian 2 hit points per Hit Dice, but these disappear when the rage ends and are not lost first like temporary hit points. While in rage, a barbarian cannot use any Charisma-, Dexterity-, or Intelligence-based skills (except Acrobatics, Fly, Intimidate, and Ride) or any ability that requires patience or concentration.

What do you guys say, what's the ruling?
