Background:

Thollus woke up in a medical bay deep in the bowels of an abandoned industiral complex on Nar Shadda. Immediately alert with no signs of fatigue, he had no recollection of how he arrived here. Turning to the console, he saw that a recent reallocation of power within the complex had relegated this bay to standby mode, effectively turning it off and reviving him. Stepping out into the room,he noticed a equipment pack on the table ( containing stated possessions). Standing, thinking, Thollus tried to remember who he was. Some small details came trickling into his consiousness, but it seemed as though no memory of his past remained. Despite that, he did know what his capabilities were and they gave him a confidence that belied his situation. Gathering up the pack, he advanced to the only door to the room. Thankfully, it was still powered. Activating it with a pass of his hand, it open with a swoosh, revealing to Thollus a dark corner of what appeared to be a supply room. Exiting the entryway, the door shut quickly behind him, appearing for all intents as a part of the wall. Curious, he thought, Why would I have been in a hidden room?

Placing the Blaster pistol around his hips as a precaution, Thollus exited the warehouse and entered a grimy thrufare. Curiously, he knew exactly where he was and how to leave this area by public transit. Travelling in an air taxi to a more ameneable area, Thollus went through his possessions. Finding nothing too remarkable, except for a datadisc devoted to a treatise on the mystical abilities of the Jedi, Thollus exited the taxi to stand in a public concourse high up in the city. Accessing a public datanet, he quickly ascertained the main particulars of the current political situation within the galaxy. Thollus found he knew place names and political associations but the individual names of the public figures mentioned were new to him.

Sitting in the concourse, Thollus pondered his situation. Nar Shadda was not the best place to be,given his lack of knowledge of himself and his situation. It was unlikely at best that there would be anyone willing to assist him here, at least not for a prince's ransom in credits. Perhaps the datadisc was placed in his pack as guidance. He had to admit that there was a certain fascination within him for the subject of the datadisc: The Jedi.

Noticing that a few local toughs were sizing him up; the blaster at his hip no doubt has given them pause; Thollus realized that quick action may be needed. Accessing the datanet once again , Thollus arranged passage by shuttle to Tython, the new Jedi home world. He would journey there as a pilgrim , seeking knowledge of himself, the Jedi and his place in this world.

Background for Zombie:

Thollus Rhan, shadowy infromation broker, conniving, paranoid criminal mastermind ( in his own mind , at least ) was getting old. Having ammassed a considerable fortune through his abilities as a negotiator, middleman and dissiminator of information Thollus was at a point in his life that he desired more... life.
To that end he gathered to him various experts on the subject of longevity and life extension.
Most solutions were mere quackery and supersition.
One possibility was to become a Jedi, many of whom if allowed by fate and circumstance could live much longer than a normal person. This of course was impossible given Thollus' proclivities and lack of force talent.
The other possibility, though hideously expensive, was to transfer Thollus' personality into a droid replica.
Horrified by the idea of becoming a droid, Thollus approached the Jedi through intermediaries, attempting to wrest from them through guile and misdirection any secrets they had.
Unfortunately all inquiries were rebuffed, and with his health failing, Thollus, grasping at straws, decided to attempt the personality transfer. Liquidating his entire portfolio of properties and funds to finance the venture, Thollus was undergoing the procedure when a virus planted by a rival's slicer compromised the operation. Thollus died before his entire personality was able to be transfered; only his main competencies and some small amount of knowledge was transferred before he expired. Therefore, personality wise the replica is a clean slate, its heuristic processor having full rein to experience and grow. The medical droids, on previous orders, stored the replica in stasis in a hidden medical bay, then wiped their own memories and self destructed. It was only the power drop in the med bay that awoke the replica, otherwise it would be there still.
