Male Warforged Warlord 1

Thewl continues to be lost in his thoughts, trying to figure out what to do next.

Male Warforged Warlord 1

Thewl is lost in his own thoughts, trying to sort out what all this chaos within the city walls truly portends.

Perception:1d20-1=0

Male Warforged Warlord 1

*click* I am in favor of such a proposal, but it is outside my realm of expertise. What do you suggest? *click*

Male Warforged Warlord 1

*click* I am most troubled by this insane fellow's comments, if they can be believed. *click*

*click* He said that he was sent here to kill us, specifically, but we were just assigned to this case a short time ago. And, more importantly, no one knew we were coming here, unless the man who directed us here was manipulated or intentionally encouraging us to walk into a trap. I think we should return to the original manor, once we've determined that everyone here is safe, and talk with that fellow. *click*

Male Warforged Warlord 1

<Thewl leaps forward to help pull the thug from Galvan.>

If necessary, Strength check:1d20+5=8

*click* Clearly, this man is crazed. *click*

Male Warforged Warlord 1

*click* Feh. There's little to be gained here. In my experience, zealots come in two kinds: religious and insane, and, at the end of the day, it's really just one kind. *click*

*click* I suggest that Galvan arrange for these surviving fools to be locked up for the remainder of their worthless lives, then we take these snake-trinkets to the Mall of the Gods and find out from whence they have come. *click*

Cowed by Thewl's demener the thugge drops his blade and falls to his knees begging, "Please gov'na don't kill me I didn't have a chave a choice. The master comanded me and I had to obey, the masters watching me now,. Protect me from the master and I'll tell you everything I know". He reaches in his shirt and pulls out a amulet like the ones taken off the thugges killed by Galvan at the Hollier estate the night before. The thugge rips the amulet off his neck and throws it to the floor. When the amulet hits the floor it anamates and trie to bite the thugge but missesand then stops moving. "Did you see, did you see it move, the master controls all the new commers like that, he says its to weed out the unfathful".

*click* Who is this master and where can we find him? I promise you ... *click*

<Thewl looks meaningfully at Sunaj,>

*click* ... we will protect you from harm if you tell us why you have been kidnapping these nobles and where we can find the one who is responsible. Otherwise, we will let it be known that you told us a great deal and let your master have you. *click*

Male Warforged Warlord 1

<Thewl strides forward, swinging his sword almost casually, moving up to Isari's side J12.>

*click* Do not resist further, foul miscreants. Your work here is undone and only by cooperating with us can you prevent my companions here from cutting you down where you stand. *click*

*click* Surrender! Or face the consequences of your foolhardiness. *click*

Intimidate: 1d20+9=21

Male Warforged Warlord 1

Seeing more combatants, Thewl hustles across the room and up the stairs, not quite reaching the top. Move to N13, if I counted right.

Male Warforged Warlord 1

Thewl is tired of dealing with his cannon-fodder wants to get to the bottom of this nefarious villainy. He brings his sword high overhead and smashes it down on the novice.

Furious Smash v. Fort:1d20+10=12; damage: 5 hp and (if it hits) Galvan gets a +2 to hit the novice (on top of his flanking bonus).

Male Warforged Warlord 1

Thewl spots the mace-wielding novice headed towards Galvan and strides to intercept him (moving to M22).

He then slashes repeatedly with his long sword, steering the novice's movements, until Thewl spots an opening and darts in with his sword, slashing his foe. Only then does the foul miscreant realize that he has left himself open to Galvan's attack from behind.

Leaf on the Wind: 1d20+8=22 vs. AC; damage: 2d8+5=19 and Thewl and the novice swap places.

BLOODIED

Sorry but you can't aid anothers saving throw unless through a power or feat.

You don't see any ranged weapons laying around.

Could Jonas use his natural 20 from above for his Heal check to give Isari a saving throw (DC 15)?

Male Warforged Warlord 1

*click* Arrgh! *click*

Black fluids are splashed across Thewl's chainmail, and his motion seems slight hruky-jurky, like a machine that has a catch in its gears somewhere.

*click* Come, Galvan! We must show these workers of the dark arts that we are not to be trifled with! *click*

That goes double for you, you useless chunk of wood and metal. Get it together and show these men what you used to be good for!

Thewl collects himself and raises his sword and shield in a defensive stance, readying to ward off the continued barrage, confident that he and his allies will emerge victorious at the end of the day.

Minor: Inspiring Word on Galvan. He can spend a healing surge and receives an additional (1d6=5) hp.
Minor: Warforged Resolve. Thewl heals 3 hp and gains 3 temporary hp.
Standard" Second Wind. Thewl heals 6 hp and gains +2 to all defenses until the end of his next turn.

BLOODIED
+2 TO ALL DEFENSES

P.S., dazed characters don't get to make Opportunity Attacks.

May as well keep that post then and use the action point for the extra standard action of a daily attack with the acid arrow.

Note: When you spend an action point within 10 squares of Thewl, you regain 2 hp and can make a saving throw with a +2 bonus.

Male Warforged Warlord 1

Thewl arches his back as electricity dances across his metal components and sparks shoot from his eyes.

*click* Arrrrggh! *click*

Thewl is BLOODIED once more.

Male Warforged Warlord 1

Posting early to help with speed.

*click* Get behind cover! *click*

Thewl yanks the arrow from his side, tossing it to the floor, and charges forward swinging his sword with all his strength.

Minor: Inspiring word to regain 8 hp (6+1d6=2); no longer BLOODIED *click* Come on, Thewl. You've had worse. *click*

Standard: Charge the nearest opponent. To hit: 1d20+9=29 (crit), damage: 13

Free: Action Point

Standard: If first opponent is down, charge next nearest, otherwise continue to attack with Wolf Pack Tactics: To hit: 1d20+8=24 (+1 to this if I charged), Damage: 1d8+5=12

Male Warforged Warlord 1

Great gods, what have we stumbled upon?

<Thewl grunts in pain as the flashing magical energy slams into him, and black fluid leaks from the crossbow bolt wound in his side, but he struggles on, determined to save this family from the horrors of abduction.>

Thewl is BLOODIED.

Male Warforged Warlord 1

DAZED

The deafening explosion leaves Thewl slightly stunned, his ear-holes ringing. Lowering his shoulder, though, he dives into the fray, determined to protect Isari.

Standard: charge to U17, Basic Melee Attack against thug @ T18. Longsword vs. AC: 1d20+9=22, damage: 1d8+5=11

EOT: Save vs. Dazed: 1d20=20

After charging into battle and swinging his sword, Thewl remembers the feelings of mortal danger and the thrill of battle and his head clears.

no longer DAZED

I already added the +2 to my initiative rolls, so the Thugge still goes before me.

Ack. We need a better system for Initiative rolls.

Male Warforged Warlord 1

Remember that we should all have +2 to our Initiative rolls (I have already included this bonus in my rolls).

Male Warforged Warlord 1

*click* Maybe we can get there in time. Let's go, Galvan! *click*

Thewl takes off after Galvan. As we near our destination, Thewl will unsheath his sword and ready his shield, just in case.

Male Warforged Warlord 1

*click* Thank you, Master Hollier, for your help in this time of great sadness and grief for you and your family. Rest assured that we are doing everything in our power, and we will find your children. *click*

*click* I'm sure you have already answered many questions, but, if I may ... Can you think of any reason why someone might wish you or your family harm? Have you received any threats or ransom notes? On another note, has your family made any increase in logging practices in recent months? Any further information you can provide would be quite helpful. *click*

Diplomacy: 1d20+9=25

Uber: Nice pic of the estate, btw.

Male Warforged Warlord 1

*click* As a 'Forged, my metabolism allows me to wait nearly indefinitely ... the kidnapped children, I suspect, cannot wait so long. Let us go and let no more time be wasted. *click*

Thewl is leaving, assuming the others are following. He is headed to the Hollier mansion, keeping an eye out on the way for suspicious characters.

Male Warforged Warlord 1

*click* Let's head out, then, and see what's there to be seen. *click*

Spoiler:
Do I know if the Hollier family was involved in either the logging industry or in some sort of sewer project?

"The idea of splitting up our meager numbers doesn't fill me with much confidence," Jonas begins tentatively,

*click* I agree. Assuming that those who perpetrated this foul deed are powerful and well-connected in the city (assumptions that I believe are warranted), it will not take long for them to notice our investigations. *click*

Thewl turns to Galvan.

*click* I am concerned, therefore, for the safety of our softer-skinned companions and suggest that we make it out duty to protect those who are ore knowledgeable in the realms of religion and the arcane. *click*

He turns back to the others.

*click* We cannot do this if separated. Let us travel together to the temple of Melora and to the Hollier manor thereafter, if need be, but let us not endanger ourselves and our investigation by scattering our strength. *click*

"If they have the 3 Hollier family members, what would be the purpose of the portal, if not to allow our suspects to either get more Hollier members or to reintroduce them back into the estate? Personally I suspect the latter."

*click* Ahem. I see what you are pointing at. However, if I understand the purpose of a Portal circle, I imagine it was intended to transport some of the kidnappers along with the kidnappees to a specific location where they will be detained. *click*

*click* I suspect that the folk that our illustrious Redcap here [nods to Galvan] encountered were simply trying to destroy the evidence. *click*

Male Warforged Warlord 1

Religion Check = 1d20=13

Male Warforged Warlord 1

*click* Good point. *click*

Thewl makes a note that this human is quite clever and that his opinion should be valued in the future.

Male Warforged Warlord 1

*click* Must it have been an arcanist? I have heard that priests can also perform various rituals of travel. Might this be another clue that points toward the shrine of Melora, or no? *click*

*click* Excuse me. Sometimes my sense of humor can be a liability. It seems clear that a journey to the local shrine of Melora, whatever flavor of deity that my be, is in order. *click*

"You want something," Sunaj asks of Thewl as he notices the latter staring at him.

*click* No, no. I just thought you might have some insight into the workings of the less-than-legitimate workings of Genera. I can't imagine why. *click*

*click* What is this circle? Does it look familiar to any of you? *click*

It is clear that Thewl is disregarding his own avowed disinterest. He can't keep from being involved and trying to manage the investigation.

Male Warforged Warlord 1

*click* Perhaps one of you might have access to some information regarding these amulets, whether in a library or somewhere less savory? *click*

Thewl eyes the drow (if he had eyebrows, one would be raised).

*click* That might be a place to start. I suppose we might also ask if the temple of Melora is missing any acolytes. Is there further information to be gathered from these supplies? *click*

Male Warforged Warlord 1

*click* Come. Let us repair to a nearby courtroom and inspect these clues. Every minute that passes is another minute that these innocent children suffer. *click*

Thewl strides from the room, expecting the others to follow.

When we reach a courtroom, Thewl will leave the actual inspection and detective work to the other members of the group, waiting for an opportunity that is more in line with his strengths.

Male Warforged Warlord 1

Although he has stood at attention for the entirety of the presentation, Thewl snaps to even greater attention, if that's possible.

*click* You can count on us, Your Honor. We'll track down these poor, missing children and their helpless aunt. *click*

He begins to turn to depart ...

*click* A question: The hooded figures, killed by Recaps. They were human? Local? *click*

Male Warforged Warlord 1

*click* And my axe! errr, I mean I'm ready to go as well. *click*

*click* Just posted background info. It's relatively sparse right now, but let me know if you want more details, dark secrets, etc. *click*
