About Thesius Monteblanc-------------------------------------------------------
The looks?:
Thesius Monteblanc makes for more of a dashing fellow than an imposing brute with his elf-like features, perpetual five o'clock shadow, pristine gear, and 5'8" stature. While his general look makes him appear as if he were a newly arrived adventurer, his intense gaze speaks of years of living within the war-torn country. The spark of curiosity tempered by unspeakable sights. A tragic backstory?:
With twenty-six years under his belt, Thesius is still fairly young. That unfortunately has not protected him from the woes of life...
Kenabres has been Thesius' life since all but the earliest years of his life, those long forgotten. From what his father had told him, they were not good years. His mother lost in childbirth and his father's half-elven blood causing him to be treated as an outcast. It was for those very reasons that they had made their way to the city of Kenabres. Endless wars were not known for being picky about their pawns. Thusly his father played his part as the trustworthy soldier and that eventually would cost him his life while out on a patrol within the Worldwound outside of the city. A young newly orphaned Thesius would make his way behind into those enemy lines in hopes of finding his missing father. It was out there that he came to see the cruelty of the monsters right outside the city walls. His father's group torn apart as surely Thesius would have been as well had not a mysterious woman come to his aid. It was through her that he came to cherish the deity Desna for it was luck that seemed to cross their paths in that fateful moment. Even now he knows not the name of his savior, but hopes that one day they may meet once again. He now keeps a wooden holy symbol of Desna he carved upon himself in reverence to the Lady Luck and in remembrance of the person who saved him those many years ago. He would carve it to mimic the one she wore and so idly reached for. Life was hard after the death of his father, Thesius having to live by his wits. It's a time he would sooner forget. Now a professional gambler living by the luck of Desna, he hates to remember the thief he once was. The thought of which still leaves a distasteful flavor in his mouth. He never wished to be such, but necessity makes one do unfortunate things. He swore to himself he would make amends for each misdeed and spent years doing just that. It is only now that he is starting to feel free of the burden of what once was and excitement for what the future holds. Noble aspirations?:
After the loss of his father, it is not surprising that Thesius wishes to see an end to the demon threat, but he wishes do not to stop there. He wants to understand what brought it to be so that he might help prevent such a catastrophe from occurring again. With that in mind, he takes any chance he can to study planar threats, seeks religious and arcane solutions, and looks at the history of the land. He hopes to find opportunities to once more travel into the Worldwound so that he might explore the ruins that lie there. It is there that he believes he will find the secrets he seeks. --------------------------------
