Has anyone made mechanical rolls for Radiant Fire? I don't like that it just kills everything. Has anyone made any mechanics such as 100d6 negative energy damage, 100d6 positive energy damage, 10d6 fire damage, Fortitude DC 35 half etc?
Here's the only mechanical description:
Effects in book:
The area within 5 miles of the fragment
immediately begins to vibrate with incredible amounts of
positive energy, turning all creatures with 5 Hit Dice or
fewer into ash. Keeping the piece in an extradimensional
space is no protection, as these vibrations rip free from
the opening to the extradimensional space and dump
the shard onto the Material Plane
Error in mechanics:
If this turns everything under 5HD to ash, how did the PCs bodies remain in tact for the zombified fight in Eulogy for Roslars coffer?
I haven't seen a thread where we can collaborate and share resources that can help run War for the Crown. I've just started and I'll need some good flashcards and images of the dramatis personae. Please share any digital goods, art, or handouts! I'll start us off with a voice actress speaking Martella Lotheed's intro:
Milani and Iomedae. I love their relationship. Both young gods (especially Milani!) and they call each other 'sister'. Both fight for good and justice, but Iomedae is very assertive and takes charge, where Milani seems more meek and always fighting a losing battle.
All moved back home, got a job, back on the grind. it's been a ride haha. I'm really sorry I've been gone for so long! I've been a terrible GM, I know I know, my bad for real.
I'm back now and things are a lot different for me. I'm not living alone anymore, and my job is much more demanding. To be honest I'm happy to finally be able to spend time playing table top in real life. So I'm going to have to cut back on my GMing. I'm sorry for keeping you all waiting and for ending the adventure a bit shorter than expected. I wish you all the best of luck in future campaigns and all of your dice rolls! Happy hunting!

IRON GODS: FOC
You guys have really made my lonely times in a foreign country much more bearable. I've had a great time GMing for you guys and I've had a lot of fun with some of the shenanigans you guys have gotten up to! Thanks for being my players, and if fate allows, I hope we cross paths in the forums again =)
Rose and Eruphen take a deep look at the sarcophagus and the pasages within. After a long time reading, they both reach a point where history and arcane magic merge. It's a passage with special significance.
Passage[/spoiler:
No sword, nor spear, nor axe ever was able to bring down the Great Reaver. In the end, it was treachery and vile poison that laid Him low. Poisoned by his own sword- brothers, his greedy lieutenants! Still, Caragthax took his revenge and now laughs at death. Before the poison took him, we his dutiful servants, entombed his traitorous lieutenants alive for all eternity. Thus even on his death bed, the Reaver remained unvanquished.
Together the party attempts to lift the lid, but the heavy stone won't budge! Auric stops for a moment, takes a breath and looks around. Despite not knowing as much about history or arcana, he sees something Rose and Eruphen missed. It's a simple picture of a pendant engraved on the tomb in the shape of a star. Thinking back, he remembers seeing such an amulet on the Crypt Thing which fighting up close! I the pile of dust and bone remains, a small star amulet dimly glows.
Most everyone can influence DAisy, Diplomacy DC 10 for non-dangerous actons, DC15 to have it attack. After the check feel free to post actions for it =)
Khonnir slowly rises, his head sunken. He sighs out smoke and nods slowly.
"Apologies," He looks around, "all of you. You've already done so much. I agree Gwyndle, lets make our way out of this place. I'll explain on the way."
The party travels through the now quiet and darkened corridors, meeting up with Jean and Fijit. Eventually though the false desert and rooms with flickering lights.
"I'm sorry to involve you all in this after what you've done for us, after what you've done for me personally. Believe me when I say I wouldn't involve you any further if I felt I had the choice."
Khonnir pauses after exiting the starship hatch to the cave near the lake of Torch. He takes out a small flask from his jacket, eyes it, takes a heavy drink, then throws it off to the side.
He looks back at Ladim, and down to Gwyndle. He furrows his brow looking back at Askra.
Sorry to be gone so long, I know we have a long history of turmoil due to GM bailouts. This campaign takes more effort to run than my other campaigns because of world-building and conversions etc. As I've mentioned above its a busy time for me, but I'll try to keep things afloat here as well. Feel free to post any questions.
@vanessa that looks like some pretty awesome loot ;)
UPDATE
Sorry about the hiatus yall. I've just said goodbye to the place I called home for the last year =(. Packing and moving and such really takes a toll. Anyway this month I'll be a little busy moving back home and getting a job etc. I'll try not to go missing for longer than a week. Please bear with me!
@Rose @Kalla @Rennai I actually don't have a problem with the way Rose does healing. I find it clever, but also very flavorful and interesting, as usual for Ladim/Rose! I think that since it can be adequately explained in game, and since it makes sense in the magical world, I dont think it jumps the shark. If Rose's trick will be used I think it would be fair to continue rolling for saves, so no intentionally failing the save. LMK if this ruling is unacceptable to you. thanks!
Rose dazzles everyone in the room with her dark magic and powerful healing. Both frightening and beautiful, the witch's magic heals the party. While ill feelings and discord grows, Eruaphen inspects the sarcophagus.
This elaborate stone sarcophagus features a carved relief of a fearsome warrior holding a wicked curved, downward facing battle-axe. Words are engraved under the warriors image in the same archaic language on the standing stone at the top of the barrow-hill. The warrior's image appears many ties over. Most of the scenes depict him glorious in battle, while other scenes depict him raising his axe and drinking horn in celebration, or standing proudly before a pile of cloven heads or a field of crucified enemies. A final scene depicts the warrior being carried up a hill by a doze robed men.
Many more words are engraved into the four sides of the sarcophagus - lines upon lines of poems, runes, and other writing - though these are in a stranger, more fiendish-looking script.
As Eruaphen inspects the writing, he hears a rhythmic thumping coming from within the sarcophagus.
Kalla retrieves her longspear, and finds many ancient coins of some unknown metal rusted and withered away. In the debris and dust she also finds a +1 undead bane light mace
Rose searches around the rooms, and finds similar ancient coinage. It's too old and decayed to be properly identified however. It crumbles to dust upon touch.
perception:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Rose finds nothing else.
Back in the main room Rennai and Conri search, but the results are same as before. The girl Casiodora's tracks simply vanish near the throne.
Checks The Sarcophagus need a Kn Religion, History, Arcana, and/or Linguistics to find out more!
Hey Caragthrax crew!
Don't worry I'm not gonna abandon you haha. Sorry for the lack of update. I'm gonna get caught up and post again. Thanks for bearing with me these last couple weeks while I say goodbye and move. Please stay tuned! When I'm back in America I'll be back to daily posts, don't worry!

Khonnir pushes some stray hairs out of his sweaty and soot smeared face. He looks Felicia in the eyes with an earnest look, then glances over at Palomia and the others.
"Nanites." He says simply. "Infinitely tiny robots and many of them. They cut off my mind's connection to my body with electric pulses."
Khonnir sighs and drops his head in his hand. He rubs his temples, and wipes away moisture building in his eyes.
Khonnir looks up at Ladim.
"Don't worry about the components, but Ladim, could I trouble you for a smoke?" Khonnir says, covering his cracking voice at the end by clearing his voice.
"I know you all have lots of questions. I'd be happy to answer any of them. However, I'm afraid your victory here may be a bit short lived. We need to talk, in private, back at my foundry. If you're all feeling well enough, we should make haste."
@Everyone Feel free to roll perception for loot, or take any other actions. After that I'll move us back to Torch and the Tavern!!
[ooc]@BoB the pills should bring you back up at this point.
Hey guys, sorry about the wait! I'm back now and all caught up!
About Firearms
I was thinking we would use this link and the rules within for modern firearms. Unless anyone is opposed, lets use these rules when handling gun combat etc.
At the inn some travelers come and go throughout the night. Most of them pay little attention to Frank cooking the Gecko meat. Some chatter about the recent dust storms down south or viable sources of food in the area. Venturea listens on as the simple people chat about survival nonchalantly. Vanessa and SK9 guard the room in the night, making sure that no one attacks.
Mortem wanders the street and may be surprised to find that there are none others like him in the area. What's even more strange is that they don't seem alarmed by his appearance, yet they seem to shy away from him wherever he goes, as if his presence threatens them.
"Good Mornin!" Lupe says, sipping his breakfast whisky.
"I did some work last night, managed to get my hands on some guns and ammo. Here are bags of supplies for each of you. Unfortunately the coffee didn't quite cover the expenses, but if you like I'll just deduct a bit from this job. After the job is complete, you'll each get 200 quarters."
Lupe hands a heavy green rucksack to everyone.
"When you're suited up, meet us at the North Gate."

Working together Conri and Kalla attack the downed ghoul. Conri rips at the creatures throat while Kalla punches it. After a moment of sustained beating, the ghoul falls over motionless. Dead!
Rose uses her dark powers to enhance Auric. With his new strength he beats the Crypt Thing with powerful claws. It hisses as it robes are torn and bones are scratched.
Rennai attempts to trip the monster, but it catches itself just before falling over. missed CMD by 1!
Eruaphen tumbles away from the creature, managing to avoid its powerful hammer. Fate Point spent!
The Crypt Thing backs away from Auric and looks up at Rose. He quickly reaches forth and wicked icicle appears before his hands. It darts at Rose from across the room!
Gwyndle steps into the room of bright lightning after a moment of hesitation. The raw energy surges through him.
Electricity Damage:4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 4, 4) = 19
Gwyndle feels the pain, but shakes off the rest. He moves to the coupling panel and changes the energy's trajectory. Overhead a female's voice can be heard in Androffan.
"Guld ta shyan, reco olpta."
Androffan:
"Energy has been redirected, containment integrity stabilizing."
Ladim uses the password from Khonnir, and reprogramming made easier with Gwyndle's help.
Eng Check 39 total
Ladim taps away and the terminal accepts the code. After a few security pop-ups the system complies.
"Losik kwah shyk unor recom faneot"
Androffan:
"Emergency Override accepted. Reactor cooling. Power diverted to exhaust."
All at once the loud churning and screeching in the room stops. The sirens also cease. The air seems to calm and the room goes quiet.
Khonnir squeezes his eyes shut, and manages to nod. Felicia injects him with the White Nanite Hypogun and immediately his writhing begins to soften. As the white nanites pulse though his veins he relaxes. Slowly his breath returns to normal and his eyes open. He raises his hands in the air slowly in front of Felicia, then drops his head in his hands and breathes a heavy sigh of relief.
"It's me. Really this time." Khonnir looks up, his face worn and heavy, yet hopeful, like a prisoner just released from his noose.
"Gwyndle, Ladim, you did it. Thank you. Thank all of you. Torch is safe now because of you."
Thanks fortifying your actions everyone! I'll look over the lists and move us alongsoon. I'm currently on my way to the airport headed to korea for a few days so sit tight!
Hey guys! I'm travvelling to Korea in just a few hours so bear with me on posts! Rose and Auric you've got plenty of time, I'll update next when I can!
The reactor is growing more and more dangerously unstable. It's energy needs to be released, but from what you can gather Ladim is unable to bypass the access code. There may be a way to assist him by manually preparing the power couplings in the hallway that's crackling with electricity. The chances of taking severe electricity damage while inside the coupling area are high... for the average person.
Khonnir slowly stirs to life as Palomia removes his remaining gear.
His eyes slowly open as he moans. He sits up straight as the chemicals work, and frantically he touches his body and face. He begins to hyperventilate as he backs away from Palomia crawling.
He briefly covers his ears and looks to the reactor, then down at Ladim.
"Ladim! Tau, Rho, Theta, Phi- aaAAghhh" Khonnir holds his head in his hands and double over.
"OMEGA!" He screams at last.
Through heavy heaving and sucking in air he points up to giant Askra.
"The White Nanite Hypogun! Quickly!"
@Ladim the password will grant a +10 to the Eng check on the reactor. You may take 20 @Gwyndle Succeeding to manually override the power in the Electric hallway will grant an additional +5, you may not take 20!
CORRECTIONS Sorry, yes the ghoul is tripped, but full attacking from prone. Kalla please remove 4 damage taken as the -4 makes one miss. Also, your awesome punch will hit with the -4 AC =). Yes Conri is before Kalla, bt you missed the previous punch anyway ;)
Sorry Eruahen I didn't move the piece, Skele took a five foot step as part of his full attack. /fin
"I am the guardian, here to punish the betrayers of the Reaver for all time. You do not belong in this place and you disturb their suffering. For that, you shall join them."
Rennai swings with her Axe, the darkness coalesces around the blade, but it cuts through like thin air! Rennai lands a solid blow! The Protection from Good doesn't work on her!
@Rennai Unlike Eruaphen and Auric, you're a true neutral, according to your character. Correct me if I'm wrong =)
Conri bites the Ghoul attacking Kalla! The wolf trips the undead creature to the ground!
Ghoul DMG: 9
Kalla attacks with her fists, but misses the creature. The ghoul then attacks!
Ladim takes a look at the control console with the reactor vibrating the air. With a loud clink a few cracks grow along the tube.
Ladim uses his e-pick to assist in removing some fail safes to relieve the pressure, the works on redirecting the energy and shutting down the core. After several attempts, there is a a flashing message in Androffan.
Androffan:
"Security access denied. Please enter the Admin password to continue. Emergency override disabled."
Palomia feeds the Hemochem to Gwyndle and Relas checks out Khonnir's body. He appears to be breathing shallowly.
Funnily enough Felicia cut him to 1/19 HP, and Ladim's acid only brought him down enough to drop him! Lucky break ;). Meyanda on the other hand... like -40HP lol
The ghoul hits with a bite and a claw!
bite dmg:1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 claw dmg:1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 fort save:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21 You're bad at getting Paralyzed ;)
Moving right along...
Conri and Kalla attack the remaining Ghoul. Conri can't seem to get a good grip on the creature and misses!
@Conri sorry for not reading the post properly, thanks for avoiding the ret-con! @Kalla please post round 9 action
Goul dmg:

Rose heals Auric, then him and Rennai attack the Skeleton! Rennai's hit bounces off the creature's powerful form, as does Eruaphen's. Auric swipes with angry claws. One straight for the face, but just as it's about to hit, a dark shadow hardens before the creature and repels the claw!
The Crypt Thing has Protection from Good!
AC 26 + 2 = AC 28!!
The monster looks down at the adventurer's and decides Eruaphen to be the weaker of the three. Attack!
Vegepygmy Leader Ref Save:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
The vege is grilled by the fire.
Palomia hears Unity's monologue and strains herself to open the door. To her surprise, the heavy doors actually budge open a few inches.
Ladim tells off Unity before opening the panel that he unlocked earlier. The roar of the reactor sounds like a collapsing mountain. Palomia falls out from between the doors.
Ladim tosses some acid, then calls for Daisy, who runs quickly back toward Unity. But before Ladim, Palomia, and Felicia, the acid burns the man down as he screams curses. He falls to his knees with raw and burning skin, blood from Felicia's attack now pooling on the floor.
"You're only killing him!"
Unity looks to Ladim and Palomia through Khonnir's eyes, and for a moment they flash with a metallic blue sheen. His demeanor grows calm.
"Once more, within the Silver Mount. This world will bow to me in the sky. Three Iron Gods are now two. If you wish to slay me as you did Casandalee, you'll find me in those glimmering halls. I'll be waiting."
Khonnir's body slumps over.
Askra looks down at the slayed Android in her large form. Slowly Meyanda's purple glow fades from her arms to her shoulders to her head. For a short moment her eyes meet Askra's, and she shows the slightest twitch of confusion, just before the purple glow fades and her eyes turn to inert grey spheres.
Askra spots a strange device, like a gun, only white, with a sharp needle tip in Meyanda's hands.
Eruaphen goes to the unopened door and listens, just as he can start to hear a voice Rose manages to trip the locking mechanism and the door slides open. Rose and Eruaphen now stand nearby each other, but Eruaphen can't see a thing!
@Rose still invisible right??
Rennai rushes forth, but just can't reach the Skeleton for a swing yet!
Conri gnaws on the Skeletons bones again, but it's too strong!
@Kalla if you can make the proper religion or heal check you'll know what disease you have and why you're not paralyzed ;)
Kalla punches at the Ghoul again, showing no fear!
The Skeleton looks down at Auric and stops moving, then jerks to the side and unleashes his attack on Conri!!!
Ladim attempts a punch at Khonnir.
Concentration:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
Khonnir focuses on the spell despite the distraction.
The heavy metal doors close and Palomia is stuck between them. In the reactor room all hell breaks lose, and the explosion knocks almost everyone unconscious. Askra runs to Gwyndle's side and attempts to heal him. She successfully stops his bleeding, but he remains unconscious.
@Palomia you are squeezing. @Gwyndle you are stabilized.
Khonnir's breath slows as he listens to Ladim. The muscles in his face relax. He listens to the end of Ladim's speech intently... Then begins to smirk. His smirk turns into a smile, then a bellowing laugh.
"HAHAHAHAHA You are so pathetic! You really are! You're all so entertaining, 'danger this', 'daughter that', 'save our lives'!
Each of you, always looking to someone else for your problems. I've found a way to deal with you, vermin. You insignificant organic life form. I am the butterfly of your existence. I am your afterlife. I am the collection of all of your accomplishments at my very weakest. I am Unity, god to the machines.
Khonnir chuckles for a moment, looking at Ladim's face.
"It's below me to laugh at you, creature. It's just, your suffering is so needlessly self inflicted! Hahahaha! Y-" Khonnir wipes his eyes. "You've been helping me this whole time! Do you not even know your friend Khonnir? He's been stuck inside this wretched body as my nanites took control. He suffered greatly as he watched, powerlessly as I took Gwyndle's memory. His conciousness screamed in agony as I left a deadly robot in his house with his precious orphan 'daughter'. He had to watch you release me from the Nanite Infusion Chamber below! I even used his memories to manipulate you! A-ha! Hahahaha!" Khonnir almost doubles over laughing.
"And the best part of this whole thing. Is that my quarry, was attempting to SAVE this city! I LURED her here with this engine. I cut off her communication with you. Why do you think she only fired at me first! She called me by my real name! BUT YOU COULDN'T HEAR!!! AHAHHAHAHA!!"
"Oh, oh god. It's too much. Just one more thing. Ahaha. One more I promise. She was even carrying the cure that could destroy my nanite disease! You small, weak, foolish little children!"
Khonnir goes to laugh again, but he's cut off short as Felicia cuts slices into him with her sword. He stops abruptly and turns to anger again.
"Die you foul creature!"
Khonnir takes a 5 foot step back from Felicia and throws a spellblast bomb.
Bomb:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
The Bomb misses, but the splash damage hits Felicia and Ladim.
Splash: 7 Fire damage
Sorry guys, no update tonight. Just keeping you on the edge of your seat! ...Actually it's my last day of class at one of my schools and I'm swamped. Stay tuned!
@rose it's a solid stone door. Description in earlier posts
@kalla you were effectively blinded because it was pitch black, you weren't magically blinded, just completely unable to see. Now there is a dim light in the larger room
@Felicia that's fine, but be aware that we're currently at the climax of this module! You can have artistic freedom about the reason you were out and I'll correct any incongruities =) Also, in case you have read the gameplay thread, you may want to post soon rather than later.
"Yeah, that is pretty good isn't it?" Lupe says smiling.
"Vanessa, you're seem like a seasoned wanderer. Most people aren't so eager. It's nice of your friends to share. Either way, I do have a way for you all to earn some quarters. We have dealings with the Laurels up north. A big trade in fact, and we really could use the medical supplies they're offering. I'd like you all to guard a courier with a package for the trade. You're need to traverse through several city blocks, but it pays well. What do you say?"
Kn Local, Kn History checks available on 'Laurels'. Sense motive also available.
BoB sees he opportunity and slashes Meyanda with his mighty blade. Askra attacks as well in her larger form. Together they assail the android and destroy her. Meyanda falls before the reactor and next to a cowering ratfolk.
Relas unleashes his fury on the Collector near him. His claws and teeth cut incredibly deep. Gwyndle fires an elemental ray to assist, and the Collector is destroyed and collapses in a metal heap.
In the other room next to Ladim, Khonnir's jaw drops as he sees Meyanda fall. His terror turns to rage and he clenches his teeth.
"Unity." He spits out shaking in anger. "She belonged to ME you son of a b&$#+!"
Khonnir quickly pulls arcane might from all around him and thrusts his power into the room, straight toward the reactor. His spell coalesces into a fireball. On impact it erupts in a roar engulfing everyone but Palomia. The ratfolk on the platform immediately vaporizes and into a charred husk. Then the wave of heat and flame washes over the room.
@Ladim Aoo available!
Fireball DMG:5d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 4, 5, 3) = 20 Reflex DC 17 for half damage
Khonnir quickly taps the control panel on the pair of double doors, shutting them. Move action @Palomia Ref DC 10 to get on either side of the doors.
A blinding light appears in cracks on the large glass cylinder that houses the reactor core. When the fire settles a violet vapor can be seen leaking out. The situation is dire.

Rennai runs towards Kalla's cell and works quickly to open the stone door. With a loud click the tomb slides open. Kalla can see into the main room, though the light is dim since Auric's torch lies in the center.
@Rennai Fate Point spent, extra speed, Kalla's door open.
Eruaphen focuses on his door, and with some effort he skillfully opens the mechanism. The door slides open.
Conri attempts to trip the skeleton with his new found courage! But the skeleton doesn't budge!
Auric takes cover behind the throne with heavy injuries. As fate would have it. He spots on old rusted lever.
Kalla finally lands a solid blow on the ghoul! Going all out with her fists she pummels it in the dark just before her cell door opens!
Fate point spent! Ghoul DMG: 3
