So the kobold feat, Allys Shelter says "In stressful circumstances, you find strength in your allies' example. Roll the save using an adjacent ally's modifier for that type of saving throw instead of your own" would this mean that if an ally used a reaction to gain a bonus to a saving throw, then your save would now be the new and increased save rather then just the flat modifier from prof plus stat if you used your reaction after them.

So, recently I have been looking up some monsters that have the swallow whole ability. So swallow whole says "A swallowed creature can attack the monster that has swallowed it, but only with unarmed attacks or with weapons of light Bulk or less" this means that if you are in the belly you cant make any weapon attacks or special attack actions, but this does allow you to use the fighter feat "combat grab". Since you are slowed 1 when swallowed you have to make a strike first, then use combat grab and make another strike with MAP, but if you do manage to hit I haven't found anything preventing you from being able to grapple a creature while it has you in its' stomach. Now heres the kicker, if you do grab the creature the only way to escape a grapple is to take the escape action. The escape action is considered an attack, this means that if you are the creature that swallowed this amalgamation of brawling you now are incapable of escaping from the grab RAW. This is because the creature would have to take an attack action but the rules around swallow whole say "The monster can’t attack creatures it has swallowed". Now, this is all only possible with RAW wording of things not as intended but it is funny to think about.

Now if you are really want to mess with someone you can also take the monk feat "whirling throw". Since the ability isn't an attack or has the attack trait you can use this while inside the creature RAW.

Hope you enjoyed this fun little thing I noticed, if you have any suggestions or tweaks or rules that make this not work please let me know.

Thanks

So the 12th level champion feat called Divine Wall states that "You use your shield to harry your enemies, preventing them from stepping away from or around you. All spaces adjacent to you are difficult terrain for your enemies", so given this context are enemies allowed to "step" away from the champion with the step action or are they only prevented from stepping next to the champion. I understand how some of the ability might just be flavor text but the ability does seem a little underwhelming if you can just step away.

So I have been building a monk grappler and came across the whirling throw feat. So the wording on whirling throw says

"You propel your grabbed or restrained foe a great distance. You can throw the creature any distance up to 10 feet, plus 5 feet × your Strength modifier. If you successfully throw the creature, it takes bludgeoning damage equal to your Strength modifier plus 1d6 per 10 feet you threw it."

This doesn't pose a restriction on where you can throw them. Meaning I assume you could throw a creature up, down, behind, or in front of the user depending on the situation. Am I missing something or is this just purposefully worded without a required direction to allow that?
