LOl, yes Ekembe, Otiven and Miggen seem to have been gone for a while :) I have a friend of mine who's wanting to play, I plan on writing him in and getting him up to speed about this site and flesh out his back story this week.

As the group talks about the night and what to do with the new day, Sverinn secures the gear so nothing is setting out of a pack or sack; Jacen ponders what giving Jakiim a Mutagen would do; Ekembe Wards Sverinn as everyone gets their spells prepared.

Generally the thoughts seem to be to explore the island today, but first, how to protect their own camp? It seems a solution needs to be found.

I posted IC on sunday friends... Been checking all week but no one has done anything yet...

Further investigate the Island? Get some rest for the night, giving everyone their spells back in the morning.

Rowan and Ekembe found an end to the thick forest of the Island, along with a "Watch Stand" of sorts.

Interesting.

Its just you five, Rowan, Sverinn, Ekembe, Jacen and Jakiim. I'm Bringing in one more person here in the next few days. Been emailing and talking on the phone.

I'm glad you all have stuck with this so far; :)

Ekembe sees a large grass mound further northwest, where the trees seem to dwindle. Other than that, a lot of trees.

With Jakiim and Jacen busy with the books, Sverinn decides its a grand idea to whip up some food for the group, and the Impliangs. She makes a wonderful Stew with some of the plants Rowan discovered the day before, using a blend of her own spices and ingredients of course. Sverinn also checks her things, and the rest of the camp; finding nothing disturbed. Everything seems to be exactly where you left it.

Meanwhile...

Ekembe and Rowan clamber up the large tree, Rowan slips and knocks Ekembe to the ground, twice totally. Landing with loud thumps on the plants and dirt, the two finally ascend high enough to grab onto the rope, pulling themselves up to what seems to be a "Watch deck", or "Hideout" of sorts. Limbs have been cut from above and tied between two branches. Making it very easy to sit, stand or walk comfortably along the 5x5 "Deck". Estimating about 100' from the forest floor, the view is rather amazing. Rising above the lower canopy, your able to see other clearings in the direction of camp, and the abrupt ending of the forest further to the northwest; Or at least an ending of Trees over 100' tall.

Perception checks please

Ekembe and Rowan return to the illusion Rowan discovered. Even with Rowan pointing it out to Ekembe he's not able to see through it.. The oak towers over the masked man, while Rowan still sees the rope hanging from the canopy.

This, and I'll figure at least another action by you guys all happens while Jakiim is reading

Fully undsterstood... I was wondering if you guys were still checking them and wanting to see this through or not.. I was going to wait until tuesday or wensday... If no responses; I was going to count it dead... sadly...

Only on set of tracks, a few hours old at best.

Same for me, had problems for a few days, seems to be up and running fine now though.. Its also a store, so I expect there to be times when its over loaded or what ever the case maybe.

No matter though, with Christmas and new years approaching I don't expect daily posting; but lets try and keep things moving, even if albiet slowly.

You've finally began to uncover the secrets of Fey Island :)

As Jakiim and Rowaan set the chest in the middle of the camp site, Sverinn checks on the Impliangs, offering them food and overall acknowledging their ownership of the territory and their sharing of the space.

Many of them climb down the huge tree and nibble on the nuts and berries the wizardress offers up. What seems to be the leader of their group stands up on its hind legs and points his little claws at the party.

Disturbed ancient evil, you have. Hunting; the giant shall find you all.

The impliangs all scatter after he's finished, he doesn't stick around for questions or to elaborate. He's the last one back up the Durian tree, and within seconds none of them are to be seen.

Sverinn and Jakiim both set down and begin reading the two books. Jakiim with the Coral Reef book casting a spell to help him understand. Sverinn just uses her vast knowledge to help her figure out the ancient writing within the Oak Tree book.

While the two of them are reading; Rowann and Ekembe begin looking around the campsite for visitors, intruders or anything else that might seem out of place. Rowann casting detect magic to help them out soon finds a small black berry bush just outside the camps tree ring to the north glow with a magical aura. The two of them head out to investigate further and soon find what looks to be boot prints. The berry bush seems normal other than the enchantment aura it radiates. The prints lead to the north and seem fairly easy for Ekembe to follow; the two only travel 30' from the northern edge of the campsite; but the boots continue at least 30 more feet, after that Ekembe and Rowans' vision is blocked by the thick undergrowth.

Back at the campsite, Jakiim soon realizes that it would take at least 6 castings of his spell to thoroughly read this book word for word. So, the undine decides to skim through the book, stopping to actually read what seems to be interesting or more important. The entire book seems to be a diary or log of sorts. It's written through the eyes of a Fey touched Undine that used to live on this Island, Yrselleen Ondiirsur ; a queen of myths and legends of a great war and mysterious dealings with peoples outside the Old City.

Of course the book seems to be written after the queen and her group of closest followers left the Old City and apparently came to the Island of Fey. The book, further in, seems to outline the contents of meetings held with the other inhabitants of the Island, seems to be five intelligent races used to live in harmony. Fey Giants, Fey Undindes, Treants, Dryads and Korreds. Two such meetings seem to be of more interest than the others, that you could read within your 50 mins.

Year 69; day 136::

The Fey giants have grown restless, they wish to leave the Island. They complain of not having the space they need to grow and prosper. They complain about us, the Korreds and Dryads. Having lived among the Treants for years before we three came to live among them as well. They've nearly crushed the eastern part of the Island, only keeping the giant Durians and Oaks they use as their homes. The Dryads despise and wish them to leave as well, believing they shatter and uproot the trees in spite of the beautiful tree bonders. The Korreds seem to envy the giants power and strength; becoming almost servants or followers. Tunneling for gems and gold, at the request of the Giants. What shall we do Tereskah? Much longer of this and they will start a war. One we cannot win.
Yrselleen; we live in peace. What the Giants do with their land is up to theeem. The Dryads have more than enough Durians and Oaks to bond with, and prosper for century's to come. No more talk of Waaar.

The next entry is a few years after the last, but no date is given:

The Korreds and Dryads haven't spoken or worked together in replenishing the forest Tereskah! Soon the Treants will be no more! When we came here we wished to live beside the Fey, become one of your great race and prosper in self providing. Not needing to trade or speak to the outside world, for hopes of harmonic living. For years this has been falling into darkness. You expected the giants to respect the physically weaker races? You expected them to follow the rules of a race they can break in half with a single hand! you--

The queen is interrupted here, We do not need the Korreds to replenish the forest. It may take longer but we can do it ourselves! WE'll not let the Treants die off! They created us in their vision to protect them and those who will become; and that is what we will do. No Giant will lay hands upon the trees of Fey Island that stand beyond the eastern plains.

You see Yrselleen? The Dryads, especially Feralley, have all but lost faith in the Fey Dream. The Giants must be dealt with. But War is not the way. A meeting of all Fey, that will settle our differences. They can leave, but never come back, if so they wish. The Korreds though have no choice. They stay or be no more. Yrselleen, call the meeting, three years from this day. This leaves us alittle time to think on how to handle this.
THREE YEARS! By then the war will have started. Dryads and Treants have no knowledge of these Fey Giants cousins. They relish and live for destruction and war! The Undines have seen it! No Tereskah, you'll not live to see the day of your meeting. I'll make the call, but you'll regret this Master...

Thats the end of your spells duration.

Sverinn trys very hard to decipher the writings within the oak tree book, but she is having a very hard time. She figures it's been written by the Treants, and by talking with Jakiim it also outlines meetings near the middle to the end of the book. The beginning however is something totally different, its a story or legend of a sort for the first at least 300 pages. Sverinn isn't able to actually read the script, as it looks like a script shed only briefly touched upon at the college. The Ancient writing of the Fey Elves themselves. Known to have lived more than 10,000 years ago. Their legends of ancient magic and knowledge of all surpasses anything the races of the world have accomplished today. After more than an hour; shes figured out four different ruins by comparing headers and dates, with the entry's from the Coral Reef Book and the last quarter of this book.
Next linguistics check used to decipher the Oak book you get a +5 competence bonus.

Ekembe Survival and Perception checks:

Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
survival: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (16) + 14 = 30

With Jacen Knowledge of the odd and Jakiim's knowledge of the ancient script, the two are actually able to figure out a good bit of the first page full of characters. While linking every symbol with a letter or words for words, you get the general idea of what the script says. Only on the first page but

Gatherings of the Council; written numerals align Kienko's and the Stones of Fey; Water..... Rune's carved into Kienko's; Beautiful Water Display.

It would seem this is most of the first page, two groups of symbols after the WATER are smeared and very hard to understand.

As Sverinn gets done studying the stones she begins to offer her help with the book, but the suggests that going back to camp maybe a good idea. Jakiim agrees. Rowann finishes his meditation on his spells and offers his help where ever it maybe needed.

Ekembe is on the look out for threats and uses the passing time to watch the many different types of birds he can see flying above the forest canopy off in the distance. Within this clearing the sky is light blue, the sun beaming down upon the mans shoulders. Clouds begin to encircle the mountain he can see rising above the canopy off in the distance toward their camp. But obviously much further away than that, its in the same direction. The clouds move quickly over the hour of time that passes; two sets of birds have flown toward the mountain, one white in color the other red/orange/yellow, a swirl of flames to the untrained or ignorant eye. The ranger figures it will ran soon, tonight or early morning; he also notices a large foot print, three 'toes' are nearly a foot long, with the 'talon' near the back only alittle shorter. He finds ten of these foot prints, the last two side by side and much deeper into the earth than the ones at the beginning of the trail. The last two prints are about 20 yards from the entrance to the camp, the canopy above them seems to have been disturbed, branches broken sway and dangle halfling sized leaves near our heroes heads.

The party heads back to camp uneventfully. The Impliangs run and hop about, hanging and swinging from the lower canopy. Three elk are spotted running out of the camp as the party gets back. Obviously a mother and two of her young. They dart of toward the mountain Ekembe spotted to the north west.

Jacen, Sverinn, and Jakiim all three set down to study the coral reef book once again.

For sake of simplicity, I'll say Rowann and Jakiim carried the chest back to camp. Let me know where its setting at..

dices:

1d100 ⇒ 3 1d100 ⇒ 35

Mad monkeys!!! I gotta check that spell out, it sounds way tocool lol

Yes if anyone would like to take a few minutes to prepare new spells awarded with the level up, go right ahead. We'll say it takes about 3 minutes per spell above 0 lvl, longer for spells above 3rd, say 7 mins.

As Jacen opens the book the first page has a drawing of an odd looking Undine with a set of symbols above his head. Holding a longspear in one hand, and a blue saphire in the other, he stands proudly with the Island outlined behind him. He has pointy ears, his face more narrow, oval shaped than that of Jakiims. Seemingly being a warrior or man of power, but almost frail or too skinny. Flipping on through you see there are a few more drawings within, but it is mostly text, of which you've not ever seen before.

For the next few minutes after Ekembe heals himself everyone begins their own sort of investigation, While Rowann stands back and begins preparing spells he feels maybe needed in the near future. Jacen is nudged a few times by Otrimi.

Jacen:
You quickly realizes you've never seen this written script before. Nothing even closely resembles the characters within this book. I see no languages on your PC sheet Jacen.. Please fix this :)

Ekembe:

As Jacen begins flipping through the book you notice similarities in the text, you've seen them before as you've read recipes created by the Fey. Its not Sylvan, but the characters themselves have similar strokes and patterns.

Jakiim:

As Jacen flips through the book you notice similarities in the text, you've seen them before as you've read the oldest watersinger song handed down through generations of your family. Although your not sure about every character, you definitely know some of them though. With this knowledge your able to make out part of what it says above the undines head, "[b] Ondiirsur; $@#**&% FEY &*^*% PEACE

Sverinn:

The stones prove very challenging; even with your knowledge. The grey rock, blue saphire and flawless black and green marbled sphere fully elude you. Your sure their enchanted, seemingly harmless, but you've not the slightest clue to their function. The Black Stone and White Pearl seem to emit a different sort of energy than the others.

All this takes time, nearly an hour has passed by the time Sverinn is finished with all the stones. Jakiim, Ekembe and Jacen have time enough to make 2 skill checks to try and decipher some of the book while she does this. Roll those checks along with your next post with your next actions for after as well. Remember guys, when your trying to do things, roll checks for it too, Linguistics if your trying to read an odd language, not knowledge :) I wish you all already rolled at least one.... :)

sorry

Sverinn senses that the stones are indeed enchanted, but with what magic she is unsure. Nothing about it seems trapped though.

Rowann and Jakiim rack their brains of lore and together they come up with legends of the treants having an living space of their own, and this island isnt far from the undines old home. As for the Fey, sprites and pixies have touched the souls of races throughout history, legend has it they used to all live in peace, then came the war. Little trace of a true Fey has yet to be seen in decades, treants are not known to still be around at all. Although Fey are mysterious, elusive, and secretive, possibly living amongst everyone without anyone noticing.

As Sverinn suggests using the rope to rig open the chest, brave little Jacen rushes past her, curiosity was always something a gnome could only hold off for so long. He grabs the lid with both hands and lifts with most of his might to raise the heavy lid.

As it opens it doesnt make a sound, and finally sets back at an angle on four shiny, platinum hinges. Inside is lined with a crimson red stained leather, maybe once was a brighter hue but it has obviously gotten darker, ir faded, over the passing of many years or decades.

Within the lid itself are five very different stones. Each held in place by a clear glass sphere sealed to the lid by, what seems to be bone, bands. Inside the chest proper are two books. Both set into the leather, side by side face up. One is bound in leather, a brass band strapped across the middle, the leather cracked and scratched. Impossible to tell how old this book is, but it looks to be ancient, the brass band probably a good reason its still in one piece. An Oak tree is etched into the leather behind the band. The other is a deep blue color with a coral reef pictured on its cover, the book is much newer than its companion. Its cover hardly damaged at all.

The five stones all vary in color, shape and sizes. One seems to be a regular dark grey rock about the size if a baseball, irregular in shape. The second is a blue sapphire, smooth perfect surface is oval and about the size of a human thumb. Third is a black and green swirled marble looking stone. The largest of them all, a perfect sphere with a flawless surface. Fourth is a stone so black it seems to be qn endless void rather than a solid polished surface, a rectangular shape alittle larger than a humans palm. The fifth and final stone is a white pearl looking rectangle, its polished surface reflects Jacens face, almost as clear as the mirrors that make uo the sides of the lids outside.

Jacen, even after having being knocked unconscious by the lock, offers to open the chest. Ekembe happy to see that the little one of the group has the will to take chances.

With everyone backing up to a, hopefully, safe distance Sverinn casts her trusty mage hand. Sending it to open the chest. As the hand reaches to lift the lid, it struggles and shakes, finally after a few moments of straining itself it puffs into a white smoke and dissipates, the lid seems to heavy for the cantrip to lift.

Is Jacen still willing to risk himself on a chest lid that could weigh as much as he does?

So thats everyone execept Jakiim... Looking good guys. I'm thinking about recruiting possibly another character or two; what do you guys think about that? I'd start them out on the same lvl or one lower...

What do you guys think?

Sverin; you screwed up your dice roll, so I rolled it for you :)

Sverinn comes to the same conclusion as Jakiim did about the area. Most of the magic is beyond anyone here's abilities, and its very old. The lock was enchanted with a trap of some sort by an ancient magic Sverinn is not familiar with. But, she is certain that the chest itself does not emit any magical auras of any kind. Its merely a beautiful platinum banded/plated box with 3 mirrors on the lid and across the front of the bottom.

Jacen tells everyone of his vision after having come in contact with the chest.

Rowan can tell nothing of what was wrong with Jacen after he awoken. Only that he didn't suffer any injuries.

Ekembe seems very interested in the "words of the Voice", but cannot seem to make sense of them at the moment.

Hey guys, I've noticed that sometimes when the only thing thats going on is RP, you all still await my daily post before pressing on with the conversation or wanting to move forward. Since this is a very PC driven game, no NPC or guide/narration of any sorts, waiting for my DM recap isn't always needed. Hopefully this knowledge will speed things up a bit ey?

Sverinn Spellcraft: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22

As Ekembe is startled and Jakiim kneels at Jacens side. The big man begins asking questions although none are answered.

Something definitely happened but what? Hours pass, and its after mid-day now. Jacen finally pulls out of his coma, his eyes flutter open. He still seems to be just fine, no pain or suffering of any kind. His eyes wide and surprised though.

The box is still unopened.

I say we throw away all 1's rolled for HP, otherwise things could get a wee bit unfair for our heros. Jacen, re roll that one.

And everyone; include the following when leveling up:

New Skill points and where they were added to,
New feats, spells, abilities, or anything.

I basically want a list; just like Ekembe did. If you like, use this.

Level up Template:

Level 5!
Rolled HP: [dice} roll some dice here [//dice}

Feats and Class abilities
Bonus feats, level feats and any new or upgrades to class abilities

Skill points Total number here
Then list each skill and how many ranks were added

Spells
Include the total of each spell level 1)spells known/added to spell book and 2)New Spells per day allotment.

Misc stuff
Hero point would go here, additions to Attributes, saves, special skill bonuses. And anything else you might get from gaining a level...

Thanks guys.

The acid and popping by Jacen is enough to get the lock off the chest without further issues. But as the deformed pile of half melted platinum lands on the ground, Jacen throws his hands up to his head, over his ears and reels back a few steps. His eyes rolling in the back of his head as he gasps and groans.

Jacen:

A slight pain shoots through your body. Its not intense enough to actually cause damage, but its enough to catch you off guard and feel exposed.
An old and withered sounding voice fills your head.

The box holds the key of the Fey. The War must be over, The Giants no more; Korreds Imprisoned. Or Isle of Fey be the Portal of Chaos. The Old Ones; Good and Evil.

After the voice a scene plays through your mind. You see this from above, each stone of both outer and inner circles have a different symbol glowing near their top. In front of the stones are watery figures; each depicting one of five races. 3 of each in all. An odd looking type of Giant, Undines with webbed wings and pointy ears.

A female humanoid with skin of velvety looking moss and blades of grass for hair, clothed in flowers, leaves and vines, truly unlike anything you've ever seen before.
A fourth gnome sized but thick as a dwarf. His skin seems rough and hard, lines and cracks alot like tree bark. His face has twigs and leaves woven into his facial features.
The last of the five is something you've heard of in legends. Treants. A tree with two branches in place for arms, the trunk split for two legs, and its face seemingly carved into the tree side itslef and come to life. One of each are seated within the inner circle, and two more of each are seated within the outer circle. No sound is heard, but its obvious to see a meeting is going on. The inner circles Treant and Giant are both on their feet, nose to nose. Finally the Giant strikes the Treant.

A bright flash ends the vision and now you are numb over your entire body; only darkness fills your minds eye, unconscious is your current state.

Everyone close enough to see, Jacen seems like he's having a seizure or a horrible 2 yr old temper tantrum. This lasts for several minutes, until finally it just stops abruptly. He lies there motionless, but breathing steadily. No signs of pain or suffering.

Jacen is unconscious for 3 hours. Next post should RP that time period. Jacen will awaken in my post tmw night. The box hasn't been opened yet.

Ahh, your right. See I had forgotten slightly. I had planned on giving out XP for everything at intervals. Instead of every combat....

Sooo:
Crabs: 550xp each
Navigating the ocean and storm: 200xp each
The Pirates: 1,000xp each
Impliangs and Camp setup: 300xp each
Screeching Lizards: 600xp each
Trappers and Bell: 1,600xp each

Which makes 4,250xp each up until this point. Pretty sure I decided on using the "Fast Track" for experience from the beginning. Which still works, especially since its an online campaign and things move a bit slowly to begin with. I'm pretty sure this levels everyone up, my plan was to have the Bell fight level you all up, so if anyone isn't at next level, it won't be long :) and remember with a new level also means you gain a hero point.

Now, about that flashy chest ey?

Jakiim has no luck in picking the expensive and flashy lock. He probably wouldn't have had luck picking a cellar door lock either.

No luck in unlocking, but plenty of luck as nothing else happens when the frozen blade shatters in his hands. It doesn't seem to prevent further attempts, or have harmed the lock any. Although the frustration on the undines face is fairly priceless.

Jacen begins fishing around in his various pouches for ingredients. Melting or blasting the lock away seems to be the party's only option without a locksmith or thief within their ranks.

Also, EXP issues have been brought to my attention; here is a break down of everything so far. Everyone should gain a level at this time.

XP break down:

Crabs: 550xp each
Navigating the ocean and storm: 200xp each
The Pirates: 1,000xp each
Impliangs and Camp setup: 300xp each
Screeching Lizards: 600xp each
Trappers and Bell: 1,600xp each

Which makes 4,250xp each up until this point. Pretty sure I decided on using the "Fast Track" for experience.

As Jakim sings his song, all the stones in the outer and inner circle begin to shake violently, although no water appears, not even a droplet.

Rowann finds an odd blue and yellow beetle with a 3 inch stinger on its behind.

Sverinn is somewhat startled from the shaking stones, they don't cause her any harm though.

The Impliangs snicker and scurry off now that the 'show' is over. However, one stops after a few feet, and speaks back to Sverinn

Sylvan:
As you wish; Caution

Rowann studies the elk, seeing its been dead for about alittle more than a day and not an illusion. Making his way to the invisible object; scimitar in hand. He stands before it with Jakim and Jacen at his side.

So? Who touches it first ey? Jakim, Jacen and Rowann are all 5 feet away from the object, Sverinn is 20 feet away and Ekembe (Unless you've moved forward) is 50 feet away. What happens next ey?

Jakim:
When you get closer to the Invisible thing, your keen eyes and knack for magic proves useful today, your able to see through the illusion and notice a chest, made from multiple mirrors and platinum pieces. A large platinum padlock rests in the front.

Sylvan:
Sacred; Old Ones; DANGER!

Jacen:
If/when you follow Jakim, make another will save, adding +4 (including your bonuses) to your roll to make a DC of 14 now that You've been shown something is odd. If you make the check read the previous spoiler and Jakims above in this post :)

Everyone hears the Impliangs make their odd chirping/growling noises as Sverinn converses with them.

Will save is for something not known as of yet :)

With the Bell and three vines all nothing more than blocks of ice now, and one vine blown to a thousand pieces throughout the area, the tall grass and brush are covered with frost now. Within moments of the Bell freezing over, the other three vines all burst into a shower of small ice chunks covering the area with a thin layer over the grass and brush, somehow all confined to inside the outer circle. Not one piece of ice from the vines goes past the stones of the outer circle, when obviously they should have.

Everyone read the Recap below, then make Will and Perception checks. Read each spoiler your check meets, only one Perception is needed; read all checks up until your score.

Recap:
Jakim has determined Illusion, Conjuration, Evocation are the strongest of the magical energy he can feel. Invisibility, Permanency and Create Water are the three spells he can pick out of the area. All schools are present, as are multiple more spells, and surpass his ability to know anything more, but the three before mentioned by far have a stronger presence. Whats changed now, is the loss of Evocation magic. It no longer is detectable at all.
The skin stripped Elk still radiates its magic energy along with the mushrooms that have began decomposing the animal already.

Will AND Perception: DC 16:
Your able to see a couple pieces of ice seemingly suspended within the tall grass. Off to the left and past the frozen Bell, near one of the stones in the outer circle. Not setting on the ground, and not on top of a bush either, but just setting in the middle of a cluster of tall grass, almost two feet off the ground.

Perception DC 14:
Sitting on the opposite side of the outer circle is a group of Impliangs, gathered within the Sunbeam, watching with intense interest. Not making any noise what so ever.

Perception DC 12:
Oddly enough, once the vines shatter and the battle is won, an eerie silence falls over the area. The only sounds heard are those of yourselves. No howls, hoots, growls or chirping. No noise at all.

Jacen tosses another bomb at the Bell plant, his aim is true and with its leaf cap open, the frost bomb plops down inside the Bell. It explodes inside and the bottom of Bell begins to frost over, much quicker the vines turn to giant icicles. The vine wrapped around Rowann instantly shatters into a thousand ice pieces. While the rest of the Bell becomes a veggie ice block.

The Bell is finally defeated. Great job guys!! The fire and acid damage did double damage, FYI. Everyone is awarded 1,000xp each for everything up until now. This may level everyone up, I'm not entirely sure. I'm going to post a "Recap" of the most recent events in a few mins. Please wait to post until that finished, thx!

As Rowann rushes to heal Sverinn his Magma monster decides to puke a liquid pool of lava onto the Bell plant. Setting ablaze directly onto the bell the fire spreads fairly quickly to the brush and grass around. Including the vine thats grappling the Magamaman. The vine is almost instatly engulfed in the flames and turns into a pile of ash on the green floor. Bell takes 11 and some damage.

Jacen sees the fire set, and tosses a bomb onto the other side of Bell. Dealing significant damage and the Bell screechs loudly from the mixture of torturing elements. Bell takes 18 dam

Ekembe singles out the last of the trappers plants, sending an arrow through a leaf sprouting out it side. A mere flesh wound is all. 4 dam to last trapper

Jakim fires his short bow, right into a burning portion of the bell plant. The arrow buries itself within the creature, and then burns into ash as well. 7 dam

Sverinn thanks Rowann for his help and then launches an orb of acid at the plant, to mix within fire and ice, the effect is obviously devastating because the shriek from Bell this time would be loud enough to bust glass if any windows were around. Thick bottles would be fine though. 2 dam and some

The Bell plant seems to be in horrible pain, its shrieking doesn't stop as it lashes out at Jakim. Only to find the rock once again. The other two vines go for Sverinn and Rowann. Sverinn is nimble enough to dodge her teethed pursuer. Rowann isn't as nimble though, being distracted from healing the wizardress, the vine wraps and bites into his side as it raises him into the air, tightening with every second. Rowann takes 5 dam and is grappled. DC 16 to break free, CMB or EA check.

Im back, super sarah didn't get me. Stupid thieves and and high bills got me :) I'm back with a comp and ready to roll guys. Im super sorry, really couldn't do anything about it. I hope you all stick around...

Sorry guys. I had mass troubles these past few weeks. No way to get online and my expensive phone was stolen. I'm back with a comp, and back in Business. Hopefully I've not lost anyone.
-----------------------------------------------

Ekembe Fires an arrow into Trapper E, bringing it to the ground in a welted mess.

Jakim Fires as well, but his arrow finds a home in the tall grass and brush. He finds his rock shelter is actually working.

Rowann Summons an Elemental buddy. Appearing next to the Bell. The plant screeches at the sight.

Jacen drinks a mixture made for who knows what. Judging how far away the Bell is, figureing to be about 45' from the bomb throwing halfling.

Sverinn collapses to the ground, her body has taking enough of a beating for the moment. She enters a state of unconsciousness.

The Bell plant finds itself in an odd situation here. The magma creature is one its never seen before. Immediately it flings two vines at the summons. (V #1&2) Both vines find their target but the first is batted away easily. The second finds its teeth sinking into the warm rocky skin, while wrapping itself around the elementals chest.
Elemental takes 7 bite damage, and is grappled. EA or CMB DC 18 to break free of grapple.

The third vine flys toward Jakims rock, slamming into the stone face and reeling back in pain, to the Bells side.

The fourth vine strikes out toward Jacen. But is also snapped back to the Bell as it reaches its full length and full speed.

Sorry again guys. For my absence Ekembe took out a Trapper with little effort. This won't ever happen again without advanced notice guys. Im very very sorry. I love this game and don't want it to dissipate. Plz forgive me ey?

1d100 ⇒ 87 vs 85% for total. Cover. Vines are able to wrap around. The stone. Circumstances normally call for total cover meaning TOTAL. ANot being able to be targeted by any attacks. But certain other things are in the equation, I believe. 85% is fair for total cover. Which Bell just barely passed so I say make a reflex save DC 18 to avoid the grapple. Otherwise everything stays the same.

Haven seems to have figured out that these plants mean business, and so does he, he sends a piece of metal right down D's throat. The plant visually chocks and squeals in pain. After a moment though the metal is disintegrated and it glares at Haven, as only a trapper can, snapping its teeth together. awesome rolls, 22dam to D

Ekembe and Jakim double team entangled trapper A, as the rangers arrow pierced and went through Jakim follows the arrows path with his sharp and pointy ransure, driving the entangled plant into the ground to ooze and bleed out. Sverinn succumbs to the vines poison, but even in her sickened state she's able to send a firey beam into the giant. Bell trap. Made a nice, but a bit hard to see, map of the battle. Docs is sharing sodown, so kno Sverinn, Jacen and Otien are 25 feet from outer circlez, Ekembe and Rowann are 55' from outer circle, Jakim is 5' ino thewestern edge of the circle, next to a rock.

Jacen and Sverinn survey the situation. A giant bell maneating plant with poisonous vines lashing about with walkin Venus fly trappers turned minions all seem to be protecting a very ancient, powerful circle of magically crafted rocks. Less than thirty fee awayare two of the five left, drooling green and purple goo, trappers (D,E) Yhe other two still alive are entangled 5' from the inner circle. (A,F)

Meanwhile, Ekembe fires off a risky shot, and if shot with any more strength it would have gabe Jakima new hole. But it works, sticking into the trappers soft under jaw and into its brain. It loses its grip and falls, oozing veggie blood, on the ground.

Rowann calls forth godly powers and strikes thunder into the trapper in front of him, small clouds form above his hand, mini rain falls onto his palm. Turning it over unleashed the several small bolts that fly into trapper D. The druid then backs away, near Ekembe. 3 dam to D The thunder is turned to static and crackles and crawls over the trappers body.

Jakim watches the plant fall and quickly decides to rush the next trapper thats entangled, taking advantage of its state. He jabs his Ransure and creates an escape route for ooze and trapped insects alike. Tapper A growls and spits back right onto Jakims face, luckily he wipes it off before it begins eating his delicate flesh.

Rowann warns everyone to keeo away, which only Jakim didnt listen but alls well, only one near him is latched onto his stomach still. The non-animated plants begin to squirm and wrap, entwine and squeeze the walking fly traps, but only two become entangled. A and F, the two on the outside of the evil plant semi circle at the south western edge of the outer circle.

Ekembe backs up out of spitting range, along with Jacen. While the confident ranger casts a protective spell on himself, little Jacen sends a (Ekembe) fist sized rock into the air, expecting he shot to hi, Rowanns spell works with him and the rock lands right in A's teeth lined mouth as it snatches it out of the air the cracking of teeth is heard throughout the area 6dam to trapper A

Jakim try to pull his new aggressive pet off his stomach, but its just got to strong a grip on him. As Ekembe and Otiven both withdraw from the monstrous Bell, both barely dodging another vine lash a piece. The littler trap plants move very quickly through the dense brush and find Jakim to be a tasty snack. He Once again takes this opportunity and thrusts his ransuer into trapper c's "mouth" as it jumps at him. C takes the wound in stride and falls to snatch onto Jakims leg. Otiven nudges speedy just in time for him to dodge a teethed vine lunging at his leg. Meanwhile Jakim and the rest of the group see the whole picture. In the center of the inner circle the vines and plants swarm together and rise up from the brush. A giant bell shaped plant with a spiked lid hanging above a 8' opening at the top of the creature. Sevral vines slither at its sides up into the air. The bell is a bright yellow with dark purple spots all over. The vines green with purple veins shown through their "skin". The Bells lid is a firey orange with blood red spots. It rises nearly ten feet high directly in the center of the inner circle. The vines have been laying throughout the outer circles, but come with a lighting fast vengeance. Three of which strike out at the party. The fourth takes its place after its lunge and Otiven. Two snap at the end of their reach mere inches from Jacen and Ekembes faces. Little Jacen ducks and rolls just in time, Ekembe throws his arm to intercept the vicious bite (Take 7 dam and make a Fot save; dc 13 or be poisoned and 2 more dam. Save every 3 rnds)

Another nearly takes a chunk of an undine as Jakim decides to admire the colorful flowers dotting the vines length, but manages to move in time, sweeping back with his ransuer, slicing open the vine, causing it to ooze a purple liquid steaminy as it touches the air. The vine screeches in pain, followed by a growl from the large Bell itself.

Rock Circles

Rock Circles double
Second link is for just in case the first one doesn't work for whatever reason.

Details:

Yellow spots are sun rays peeping through, gray circles are the med sized rocks 6-8' tall, the blue ones are the smaller and larger ones, 3' or 13' its noted next to them in black. The dead elk is at the western edge. The dark green shows the more dense grass/weeds/plants and is considered more difficult terrain, most places in this forest are 10' per square, within the dark green area its 15' per square.

map details:

Sorry bout the rough draft, drew it quickly, The Durian is the green with orange circle, ad its at the east side of the clearing. The oddly shaped brown one is a huge stump, cleanly cut with thousands of rings until its center. Ill have a better map drawn up soonish with labels and better "graphics".

With everyone finally having shaken off the effects of the mind blasts and, at least somewhat, healed by Ekembes hex its decided its time to follow Jakim to the rocks hed found while, foolishly, wandering alone. The trek there doesnt take more than ten minutes, even without a path, Jakim remembers the way.

Walking through the forest during the daylight is quite breath taking. Beams of sunlight strike the forest floor in random places, vines entangle the trees and link the lower canopys together. Small creatures are saw, briefly, scurrying across them while colorful flowers bloom, hanging off trees and vines as well. A cluster of purple and blue dotted mushrooms cover a dead elk a few feet away from the first 8' tall rock jutting out of the ground.

At first only one is seen, but after getting closer the others come into view. Most seem to be about 7-8' above the ground, but two are about 3' and three are more than 10' high. There is no clearing per say, but the area does lack tree truncks within the large circle the rocks form when looked at together, but still no break in the canopy above. Upon a more observant look you see that the shorter and taller rocks form a circle within the larger one. It takes walking around and wading through the tall grass, vines and other plants to finally see the whole picture.

ooc:

Ill draw up a map, roughly, hopefully tonight and get it posted soon after. But other than that, whats above is what is obvious or easily observed. Rolls and actions please ;)

Rough Campsite map`

sorry for the delay, been oddly busy..

Otiven, weve waited for a few days for your post, which is fine, but you still didnt roll for your saves, or update your header, 6damage As a DM, and to keep things moving, your saves are rolled below, but i cannot update your header for you. Please do this, or ill think of some sort of consequences;

Fort&Will saves:

fort2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

Full DM post by the end of the night. I promise ;)

spells:

That sounds fine with me. The water wouldnt evaporate quickly at all, after two-three days depending how deep it was. Warp wood to twist limbs, roots or vines would be permanent as the spell says, and soften earth would work perfectly as well as permanently. The oly thing that would need renewed would be the water, or other liquid that fills it. Unless it rains enough to keep it filled of course. Sorry forthe doubts earlier, but it sounds like a good plan :)

The group recovers, mostly, from the lizards ear piercing attacks with Ekembes healing light. Discussing ways to fortify their camp before setting out to explore. Jakim is sure of the way, and how often do rocks move right?

You passed the first one, and then they shrieked again, forcing everyone into another save, which you rolled an 8 for, but the newest save, 19, is enough to stop the condition. So your good. Otiven and Sverinn are still on rnd2, both need to make 2 more saves, one for 2nd jolt, one for 3rd. If they make the save dc, they dont need to roll for the 3rd. Both also need to deduct 5 dam, more if you fail 2nd or 3rd save.

Mind Blast:

Ear piercing chirp; fort save negates dam and stops condition dc16. Will save negats int dam.
Does d6+2 dam initially, d4+2 and d4 int dam on 2nd jolt, d3+2 and d2 int dam on 3rd jolt. Sverinn and Otivenn failed the first save, so they must save against the 2nd jolt and int dam. IF THEY FAIL, they must save against the 3rd jolt and int dam.

The mental blast hits Jacen full force, the second jolt begins its attack as well. Jacen make another fort save, same dc if fail makea will save, dc16 or take 2 int dam.

Jakim, Rowann and Ekembe all shake the effects, Otiven and Sverinn both still suffering from the last blast. Consensus is to go check out the rocks Jakim found while playing with the friendly neighborhood chirping lizards.

The impliangs glance at the group, three help carry the two dead ones up into the Durian, the largest of them sits upright at the bottom of the tree. Front paws on the ground in a readied stance, guarding his home. His eyes filled with anger and sorrow. He makes no noise as the party gets ready to leave, while waiting for the mental blasts to subside within some of the groups heads.

Rowann:
The two spells would work, but not permanently, you can make the moat and weave the trees together but theyd only last aslong as the spells duration. If you work manually on the barriers theyd last longer. Maybe after 3-5 times od actually weaving tree branches manually theyd stay permanently. Digging the trench and filling with water a couple times along with the soften spell will eventually make it permanent as well.
Sverinn, Rowann & Ekembe:
just before leaving a deep, raspy wise voice echos through your heads
Upon return, heal wounded. Protect OUR home. Safe.

ooc:
to avoid confusion here; Jacen: failed 1st rnd. Two more fort checks and two more will saves. If you fail: 6dam and a will save dc16 or 2 int dm; then the 3rd fort save, if you fail take 3 dam and make another will save, dc16 or take 3 int dam. Otiven and Sverinn; Make fort save or take damage& will save/int damage stated in last post, and then the third save or take 3 dam & will save for 3 int dam. If any fort save is passed the condition stops. If will save is passed you dont take the int dam, but 3 rd fort save and 2nd will save are still required. Jacen has 2 more both on this post Otiven and Sverinn have the one on last post and oneon this post.

Sverinn and Otiven deduct the 5hp damage from your hp in the header. Otiven, ill npc you when needed until you post regularly again, otherwise your "inactive" only getting half of your share od everything. Once you begin posting everything is good again.

While Jakim croaks and screeches an awful tune, Jacen relys on more material defenses, tossing one of his bombs into the mass of creatures. His expertise allows him to miss the Impliangs and kill all but three lizards.

Sverinn falls victim to the mentality crushing screeching of fhe lizards, but is still able to cast a grease spell. If the group didnt know better it would surly seem like she targeted the Impliangs, because not one lizard falls, but only two of the fey resist the slippery ground.

Ekembe looks to help the undine. Jakim shakes off the mental attack before Ekembes help, but who knows when itll come in handy. Otiven on the other hand could use it for sure. The mental blast comes full force onto him and Sverinn, beginning its secondary jolt.

The three remaing lizards look to each other, make a low rumbling sound followed by clicks and chirps. Suddenly two lash out at the Impliangs, and the third belches another mindblast at everyone . After thi all three turn and jump into the nearest tree and take off, super fast, into the forest.
Everyone make another fort save, same dc, or take 6 dam. Sverinn and Otiven, On the second wave, both make another fort save same dc, if failed take 5 damage and make a will save dc 16 if fail take 1 int dam. If pass then no int dam. If you pass the fort save then the condition ends an no will save required.

Gornack would have shared all his knowledge of the island, although he didnt know much, he knows its about 25 mils from east to west, and slightly more north to south. And Rowann, to noticw much of anything a perception check is required.since they are using the ear piercing chirping noise it is likely that you hear the fight. But well go with dc 14 to notice its a distress or battle.call.

Jakim is unable to shake the mind blowing chirp screech of the lizards. But he is able to shake a few off before all could getta chunk of the undine. After the jump off to regroup Jakim manages to cast a spell, despite his head throbbing he successfully dazzles the lizards. He then turns to run back to camp, but his head still throbbing. He staggers as another jolt runs through his skull an into his spine, 3 more dam, make another save, if you fail itll jolt again nezt round, or in 30 seconds

The swarm of dazzled lizards chase after Jakim, but a bit slower than normal, he beats them to camp. As he enters the clearing, panting and followed by the chirping lizards, the impliangs begin their own screeching sounds. A good many of them leap at the lizards and begin their assault. But that doesnt stop the cranium crushing screeching from affecting everyone, even the Impliangs. A few of the Durian protecters brush off the mind effects and tear open 4 of the lizards, injuring 4 more. But the swarm fights back, killin an impliang and cutting anothers leg deeply.

Everyone make the fort save, dc 15 or take 5 dam. Jakim, if you fail the save you take 5 damage as well, but you can tell this jolt felt less strong than the first, but still did damage to your brain, will save dc 13 or 2 int damage along with the 5hp dam. Partys initiative ;)
