I know this is very late but the hanbo and Baston(arnis stick) are now actual weapons in the game. And they're both monk weapons.

Lol yeah. I just happened to see this while I was also making a character who is using a hanbo/Baston Fighting Stick and felt the need to answer it....despite it being like 6 years old

Have you looked at ascetic style?
Getting weapon style master would allow you to add something like Jabbing or snake style to the mix. Trip is, of course, always good.
