Hi, I'm a Gnome and I'm a frontline melee character.

I am of course not PFS Legal, having been made a looooong time ago (I think using Beta Rules with a smattering of 3.5) but it gives you an idea of what can be done.

Life was just fricking crazy. Work draining me creatively, helping my family, and a new allergy...

So now I can't consume alcohol, caffeine, chocolate, or MSG. I'm allergic to cigarettes, although onliy slightly. The only intocxicant I have left is benadryl.

Man that sucks. So people are gonna start to think you're a Drug Baron when you mysteriously start to buy up all of their cough syrup?

"Well that should take care of these bastards... they're in Pharasma's care now"

Kruel has taken on an increased workload and has been quite sick to boot! I think he would like to get back to the Boards, but unfortunately not in the forseeable future. I would keep an eye on the game just in case though, I'd like to think it's not dead :)

lol... Kruel will come back after his work overload and we will have 2 pages of the skit written out in the meantime! :D

Is there any reason I shouldn't post their ACs on the init list for everyone? That way you guys know if you hit and can write it in.

It's up to you really, but I know that generally after a round or two of attacking something you can generally have a pretty educated guess at an enemy's AC.

Still in the grip of his anger towards the Wizard, Thelonius lays into him with a mighty swing of his Khopesh, slicing it deeply across Zahn's torso.

Attack Zahn with +1 Khopesh (Raging). (1d20+10=30)
Confirm Critical Hit. (1d20+10=25)
Damage (Critical, Raging). (1d8+5=9, 1d8=2)

Yah, that's lightning boy. Zahn cries out and pulls his arm back from the enormous beetle.

That would now mean that Thelonius would move to T18 as the beetle apeared where he would have ended up. He'll still attack the Wizard, although he's now opposite Book.

Pharasma wrote:

Yay!

Male Bleachling Gnome Barbarian 1 Fighter 2

Thelonius takes the lightning to the chest and convulses for a moment. Seeing Syd go down, he turns his frenzied expression upon the new enemy that dared strike at him. He bursts into action, racing across the wooden boards towards Book and Zahn, Khopesh held high ready to strike.

Spend a Rage Point to continue Raging.
Double Move to T19, ready to kill that spell flinging son of a b!tch that hurt me last round!

Whoops, I'll ret-con the description...

EDIT: Ret-con complete

Male Bleachling Gnome Barbarian 1 Fighter 2

Thelonius starts moving towards Syd/Vass with his Khopesh held high. He appears odd however, in that he shakes his legs furiously as he goes, as if attempting to dislodge something from his person. As he reaches his quarry, a glaze seems to descend across his face and he becomes eerily calm for a moment before exploding into furious action.

Move Action: Move to L16
Free Action: Spend a Rage Point to enter Rage (I'm assuming we are still going to use the Beta Rage Points System until the final rules come out)
Standard Action: Hit Syd/Vass with Khopesh

Attack Syd/Vass with +1 Osiriani Khopesh. (1d20+8=16) I doubt that will hit, even with the additional +2 that I forgot to include for Rage, taking the total to 18. But just in case...
Damage. (1d8+5=10)

Will Save. (1d20+1=12) Add +2 if it is Fear Related or +3 if it is an Illusion. Also, I forgot to add in the +2 Will Save Bonus from entering a rage, so his unmodified total is actually 14.

Thelonius whispers to himself, "I'm askin' myself the same question..."

"So I'm wondering how you got all bleached out, was it the boredom of listening to Cordoba's endless banter that did it? Wouldn't surprise me a bit."

Thelonius' eyes squint up as he focuses on Syd/Vass. His hands are fidgetting on the hilt of his Khopesh. He calmly reaches into his belt pouch and pulls out a small vial of purplish liquid. Popping the stopper, he downs the potion in one fluid motion and throws the vial to the floor where it smashes. He readjusts his grip on the Khopesh and puts himself into a fighting stance, preparing himself for what is to come.

Drinks a Potion of Shield: AC now 22

Male Bleachling Gnome Barbarian 1 Fighter 2

Thelonius looks confused... "Umm, so if that's your friend's body, he still in there? Y'know 'cause I'm all for guttin' that thing and bein' done with it, but you might want your friend back."

Male Bleachling Gnome Barbarian 1 Fighter 2

"Huh, you know this guy? Is he someone I'm meant to kill or is he OK?"

Male Bleachling Gnome Barbarian 1 Fighter 2

Perception Check. (1d20+1=4)

Thelonius walks in and wonders what in the Hells is going on and who that guy is.

Will Save. (1d20+1=14)

Male Bleachling Gnome Barbarian 1 Fighter 2

Thelonius draws his Khopesh and readies the large weapon in a two-handed grip.
"So what's this Book look like anyway? I got nuthin' against downin' anyone who frequents this kinda place, but I would like to try and kill the one you're here for first if at all possible."
He makes to move towards the doors of the Midget and stops when he approaches the door, looking back at the others and raising one eyebrow as if to say, "well, are we gonna do this or what?"

"Suits me."

Male Bleachling Gnome Barbarian 1 Fighter 2

Thelonius c o c k s his head and squints up at Rohit. "Didn'y you hear 'em before. Gotta kill us a Book 'fore we can head out to tha desert!"
He looks around at the others. "So we are gonna kill him right. Me dad's sword's a bit thirsty for blood... it's been a bit." He pats the curved sword at his side lovingly.

Male Bleachling Gnome Barbarian 1 Fighter 2

"Good on ya Hockeymishi. I thought you were all stone stupid or somthin' for a moment there." He shoulders his pack and starts to head back into the Hall to grab rations. "Be right back. Don't you all go leavin' without me now."

Thelonius looks at each of you and says, "so when do you want to leave? I'm ready now. Don't own much except what's here in my pack. Probably have to pinch some rations from the store for the journey though, but otherwise we should get movin'. No sense hangin' around 'less you got some business in the Hall like your friend there." He nods towards Cordoba.

Male Bleachling Gnome Barbarian 1 Fighter 2

"Just stick 'em a couple of times. They'll soon leave ya alone."

Male Bleachling Gnome Barbarian 1 Fighter 2

He nods to Cordoba as he walks past, even going so far as to move out of his way, obviously showing some respect to a fellow worshipper.

Aref wrote:
"We understand dat you can make de necessary introductions to a paladin of Aroden by the name of Ka?"

Thelonius just nods at the introductions, barely able to understand Aref's speech.

Finally when Aref mentions Ka, he responds.
"Aye, that I can. He's that self same Paladin I was mentionin' before. I ran with him a good number 'o years ago. You folk'll wanna be sure you wanna see him before I take you out there. 'Ole Ka's not too right in tha head anymore. I don't want you folks causin' him any trouble. Else Pharasma might find herself some more names for the Book 'o the Dead."
Thelonius doesn't look threatening as he says this. It is simply a matter of fact as far as he's concerned.

Male Bleachling Gnome Barbarian 1 Fighter 2

Perception (Listen) Check. (1d20+1=3)

Thelonius doesn't notice the exchange between Jon and the others.

Male Bleachling Gnome Barbarian 1 Fighter 2

Thelonius looks up at the Gnome and shakes his head.
<Gnome>

Spoiler:

"Ain't nothin' wrong with me that a good dose of killin' won't fix Hockeymishi son. Demon killin' sounds like my kinda work, although I think you're gonna be needin' a Wizard if you're plannin' on killin' a book 'bout pirates."
"Paladin huh. Used to run with a Paladin once. Least he used ta be a Paladin 'fore Aroden went and got himself killed. Bit stuffy 'bout the rules, but handy in a fight."
"If they're droppin' dead then sounds like a place I'm happy ta be. Long as the replacements aren't all chirpy friendly like."

He finishes his talk with the Druid and slowly tucks his dagger away. He rises to his feet and gives the party a once over before offering what you assume is a greeting. "So I 'spose you're the lot 'ole Pangloss mentioned. You sure you be wantin' to see Ka? Last I saw 'o him, he weren't in much of a state to be receivin' visitors like. You wanna hope I can get him ta help ya."
"Thistlecrit's me name, although most folk 'round here call me The Herald. Pharasma's personal little Herald 'o Death, on account of the ones I sent to see her an' all."
He hesitates, appears to raise a fist encased in a wicked Spiked Gauntlet for a hand shake, thinks better of it and simply stands there awaiting your reply.

heh, better make sure to add a Dagger to his equipment... :)

Was there anything in the Background dealing with Ka that you need changed? Once I got in the groove I just kept typing and that's what came out. If it doesn't fit your vision of him just let me know and I'll fix it.

The Gnome glances up at you as you approach, gives a snort and then goes back to calmly picking at what you can now see is a fresh scab with the point of the dagger.

Male Bleachling Gnome Barbarian 1 Fighter 2

Kruel:

Thelonius is done.

I do however have two questions for you.

1)

Spoiler:

Given Thelonius' History, I was wondering if I could give up his Racial Hatred of Reptilian and Goblin Subtype creatures and instead replace it with the Gnoll Killer Trait from page 10 of the Legacy of Fire Players Guide? In case you don't have it I will paste the details here for you.
I have Boldly Italicised the pertinent portions of the Trait that would apply to Thelonius.

Gnoll Killer: You grew up in rural Katapesh, in a region where gnoll activity was a fact of life. You killed your first gnoll at a young age when a group of gnoll slavers attacked your village, home, or caravan, and your hatred of gnolls has only grown since then. Something in your past fueled your hatred of gnolls even further—
perhaps your family was slaughtered by gnolls, or maybe
you even served a few harrowing weeks as a prisoner of a gnoll tribe before a miraculous escape. When you heard that Garavel was looking for brave men and women to aid in retaking the village of Kelmarane from a tribe of gnolls in the service of the notorious Carrion King, you knew you had to be part of the group, and signed up immediately. You gain a +1 trait bonus on attack rolls and weapon damage rolls made against gnolls. If you are a barbarian and you’re fighting gnolls, your rage lasts 1 round longer than normal. If you’re a ranger and you select humanoid (gnoll) as a favored enemy, your trait bonus on attack rolls and weapon damage rolls against gnolls increases to +2. If you’re a spellcaster, you gain a +1 trait bonus to spell save DCs for damaging spells against gnolls.

This may or may not have a bearing upon your game plans (if you plan on having a lot of Gnolls in the future for instance), so feel free to say no, I won't mind in the slightest.

2)

Spoiler:

What is your view on Characters paying less for items during Character Creation that they could have crafted themselves?
I say this because Thelonius has both Craft (Armoursmith) and Craft (Weaponsmith). Would you require me to make crafting rolls for them, or just say that he has had enough time to have made them for himself, if of course you allow me to use that rule?
I will hold off spending the remainder of his cash until I hear back from you as it may influence further purchases.

Male Bleachling Gnome Barbarian 1 Fighter 2

I'm gonna write his background now, so yes I will be ready as well.

I think you're going to like being a slave. Captain Book is quite fond of the little people: they don't take up much space and they fetch a pretty penny in Qadira and Katapesh.

:(

Even sullen, bald, skull faced ones with scars crisscrossing their arms?

This is my Character, Thelonius Thistlecrit.
He is half done. I will finish the rest off tomorrow or Friday (depending on my workload).

I took one liberty that I hope you don't mind Kruel. I swapped out one of his starting languages (Sylvan) for Osiriani. I figured if he grew up in Osirion he should be able to speak the language.
