A quick question I had asked a while ago, but I did not get an answer for (and then I forgot about it..lol) Can we use the refined rules for the scholar that I will copy below?? Scholar: Hands of a Healer (replacing the first paragraph of this ability) You know how to treat wounds, illnesses and poisonings. You have a pool of healing tricks and techniques that replenishes when you take a long rest. You have Healing Dice (1d6) equal to 1 plus your Proficiency Bonus.

Amalina walks about the group asking if they have any wounds that need tending. If not, she then returns to the unconscious woodsman and continues to tend him. Odo stays at her heels.

"Indeed...I would not want to remain here any longer than we must. Let us carry on to Rhosgobel and safety." The healer checks on her charge before checking Odo for any damage. She still shudders at the sound of the evil harp and hopes to never hear such a sound again!

Seeing the others take action against the foul use of dark magic, Amalina feels a tiny spark within herself fight back against the oppression she feels...just enough for her to speak. "Odo...get that harp!" and gesturing to the musical instrument the so-called Harper was strumming. Ok, not too sure how to handle this...is it an attack or a contest of strength to see if the great hound can wrest the harp from the man or not?

"Indeed, if the Brown Wizard is in, he will most certainly stand in judgement of this case. If not, the elders are more than capable of trying a simple case of thievery. Either way, it makes more sense to get him to Rhosgobel to heal and then stand trial. If your master has a complaint, then he can bring it up at the annual Moot." So saying, she turns back to the wounded man and once again adjusts his bandages while Odo keeps watch on the strangers. Diplomacy ?? 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17

See my post....I would never let a wounded person be taken out of my care unless it was to a healer of higher stature...and even then I would most likely stay with them and help as I could.
Female Woodsman | Scholar (1) | HP: 09 AC: 13 Spd: 30ft| Init: +2 Perc: +3 PP:13 | Hand Ax: +2 (1d6), Sling +4 (1d4+2)
"And might I add that this wounded man is in MY care, and if true Woodsmen you be, then you WILL respect this bond. Once we have returned to the town and he is in, what I deem as good health, then you may petition the council for his return to stand trial...but not until he has regained his health!" Traditions: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

I picked up most of the books but have only skimmed through them. Spending more time on Loremaster's book and player's book. That being said, there is a new update to the healer class the alters a few of her abilities (I think for the better). Not sure if you have seen this or not (cam in the Loremaster's Screens). I would like to use these new rules if possible (can send them to you if you need them) Thanks

Lore: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 "Well met. I am Amalina, Healer from Woodman's Town. Who is your lord and from what clan do you hail? I do not think i have ever heard of a place called Amon Bauglir..." She keeps her hand on Odo's shoulder to ensure he does not try and fight the other hounds.

Sorry Faem it is still too dark for me to see that far, but I can only assume that if they are humans then, yes, they are my people."

Still shaken by the sudden attacks on the group, Amalina looks at the two little birds in the webbing. "Congratulations Radegund...you have twins!" She then looks over Odo making sure he is ok.

"Odo attack!", Amalina calls out as she herself gets her small hand axe out and swings at the creature that just struck the elf she was helping along. Odo: attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Amalina Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

Amalina shakes her head at the little gir...errr hobbit?? "Speed will be better right now as we have many injured members of our group that I need to spend more time healing. Magpie and I know these woods well and I think taking the chance is worth it." She pets Odo's head while talking.
Female Woodsman | Scholar (1) | HP: 09 AC: 13 Spd: 30ft| Init: +2 Perc: +3 PP:13 | Hand Ax: +2 (1d6), Sling +4 (1d4+2)
"Indeed let's be out of here. Whatever happened just now has Odo..and well to be honest me as well, on edge. Odo can help lead us back as well...he knows the dangers of the woods as well as any of us, don't you boy! You can also lean against him if you feel faint or need to steady yourself." With all her equipment packed, Amalina is ready to go.

We could say by the time we get to him, check his wounds and prepare the tincture and poultice an hour has expired and, feeling her powers renewed, Amalina moves ahead and heals him...or not. Your call :-)

Amalina shakes her head after looking at the paralyzed man. "This is odd. He was poisoned with the slow sting, which should have him completely immobile, but he is trying to speak..." Rummaging around her healer's satchel she gathers a number of different herbs and places them in her mouth, chewing each separately, then spitting the soggy mess into a cheese-cloth sachet. She then placed the poultice onto the wound. Next, she takes a small vial of some liquid and, prying the man's mouth open, pours the tincture into the fellow's mouth. "Now we wait. If this works, then he should come around shortly." Healing Hands - Heal poison

Amalina follows the child to where the other wounded traveller lay. "My goodness! How long has he been a captive of the spiders?" Medicine: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15 She tries to check the body in the gloom of the forest before she can give any type of healing.
Female Woodsman | Scholar (1) | HP: 09 AC: 13 Spd: 30ft| Init: +2 Perc: +3 PP:13 | Hand Ax: +2 (1d6), Sling +4 (1d4+2)
Once back in a safer part of the woods, Amalina motions those carrying Finraeth to lower him to the ground. She spends about 10 minuted preparing a poultice and mixing healing herbs before applying them to the wounded elf. Healing Hands: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (3, 6) + 3 = 12
Female Woodsman | Scholar (1) | HP: 09 AC: 13 Spd: 30ft| Init: +2 Perc: +3 PP:13 | Hand Ax: +2 (1d6), Sling +4 (1d4+2)
Watching them fall, Amalina rushes forward (as fast as is safe) and quickly examines the elf and Radegund for injuries. "Give me a moment to stabilize Fin, then let's get out of here. Once we are safe I can examine everyone's injuries...OK?" Medicine: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Female Woodsman | Scholar (1) | HP: 09 AC: 13 Spd: 30ft| Init: +2 Perc: +3 PP:13 | Hand Ax: +2 (1d6), Sling +4 (1d4+2)
Stifling a scream as she watches the spider try to make off with Fin, Amalina loads her sling and fires a rock at the retreating spider, praying to all the gods of her people that it hits and the spider either dies or drops the elf! Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Female Woodsman | Scholar (1) | HP: 09 AC: 13 Spd: 30ft| Init: +2 Perc: +3 PP:13 | Hand Ax: +2 (1d6), Sling +4 (1d4+2)
Amalina again attacks the spider trying to carry off the elf, and sets her hound, Odo, onto the thing as well. "Attack Odo!!" she commands her hairy companion. Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Odo Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Female Woodsman | Scholar (1) | HP: 09 AC: 13 Spd: 30ft| Init: +2 Perc: +3 PP:13 | Hand Ax: +2 (1d6), Sling +4 (1d4+2)
Amalina moves to help the entangled elf, but then a pure light shines from him and the webs seem to melt away. Standing in awe of the sight, she almost forgets to fire her sling again but seeing the spiders hesitate, she is emboldened and aims at the wounded one again. Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
"Back to the dead woods where you spawn and leave us alone!", she shouts at the hairy monsters.
Female Woodsman | Scholar (1) | HP: 09 AC: 13 Spd: 30ft| Init: +2 Perc: +3 PP:13 | Hand Ax: +2 (1d6), Sling +4 (1d4+2)
Watching their elven companion, Amalina attempts to place her sling stone in the same area. Once she has fired her shot, she moves carefully forward towards the distant firelight. Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14

SPIDERS!! The sound has been drilled into Amalina's head since birth. There is nothing in the woods that sounds like it and nothing that sends the chill of fear down a person's spine. While her first thought was to run, she realizes that the fire is what has attracted the creatures, and whoever is there will be unprepared. She and her group have a chance to strike while the spiders are focused on those at the fire, or they can slink away and leave the others to the horrible beasts. She quickly decides to help! "I think we need to help those poor people by the fire. We can try to ambush the spiders as they pass...they will most likely be too focused on the fire and we might be able to hurt them before they can surprise those travellers...or whoever they are. What do you think?" I will make my stealth roll now so as to speed up the gameplay, if that is ok :-) Stealth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Female Woodsman | Scholar (1) | HP: 09 AC: 13 Spd: 30ft| Init: +2 Perc: +3 PP:13 | Hand Ax: +2 (1d6), Sling +4 (1d4+2)
"Wait a moment Radegund...look over there. Do you see a light? Someone else is out in this bog in the dark it would seem...I wonder who it might be? Perhaps we should have a look and see. They might need help!" Amalina looks to the elf and her fellow woodsman to see what they think.
Female Woodsman | Scholar (1) | HP: 09 AC: 13 Spd: 30ft| Init: +2 Perc: +3 PP:13 | Hand Ax: +2 (1d6), Sling +4 (1d4+2)
"Easy now fella...I know how you feel, but we have to keep a steady pace we can all follow." As she is quietly speaking to Odo, Amalina peers into the growing gloom. Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23 Say fellas...does anyone have a torch or lantern? I did not expect to be out this late and did not bring mine!"
