"The big one is a shemhazian demon! We can't possibly defeat it without Ghalcor's weapon. I'll try to slow it down, while you focus on the little ones and install the prisms. "Those are abrikandilu. Their bite carries a curse that disfigures you for days." Thaeos conjures a noxious, green cloud between the gargantuan demon and Auriferous, blocking his gaze behind the mists. Wow! A shemhazian demon. I've read about them, but . . . wow. This is what being a Pathfinder is for! Crunch: Standard Cast stinking cloud
I want as much cloud as possible between the demon and Auriferous, without actually putting her in the cloud. I'm not sure how high up the demon is though, so don't know exactly where to center the cloud.
"You said this is the second time . . . what do you know of the threat that approaches us now? And can you tell us anything helpful about the first time demons threatened this tower?" Thaeos pauses to listen for the man's reply, then continues, "Does your weapon require aiming? What about any other special knowledge or skills?" Once the man finishes answering, Thaeos begins examining his possessions. "The robes might be useful for Theodore, they are what's called a cassock of the clergy and are common among divine orders. He should also take the scroll, which can align one weapon to a specific ethos. "The potion is quite powerful, and will deflect attacks against the one who imbibes it, but only for a dozen or so minutes. "The shield though . . . that's the real treasure. Not only it can protect its wielder against unexpected falls and possibly blind his attackers, but it is so light that even Doodle or Numair could wield it!" Crunch: Spellcraft (potion): 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (9) + 17 = 26
Spellcraft (shield): 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (15) + 17 = 32
Thaeos continues blasting the creature and backing away from his confused allies. "Theodore! Can you do anything for their confusion? I can try to dispel the magic, but it's a gamble." This is unacceptable. If they had bothered to use their brains before, they wouldn't lose control of themselves so easily. Big swords aren't a substitute for books! Crunch: Move Movement
Standard Cast magic missile magic missile: 4d4 + 4 ⇒ (1, 1, 3, 3) + 4 = 12
GM:
Would confusion be considered an attack and break the fascination? "That's not a normal allip; it's magic is almost as powerful as mine! And if that isn't enough, it's tougher than any of us and can absorb a LOT of damage." Four bolts of magic shoot out of Thaeos' fingers, rocketing into the undead. Then with a brief word and gesture, Auriferous grows to twice her normal size. "And that monster can still turn your mind into jelly with a touch, just like any other allip!" Crunch: Move Movement

"I possess a couple scrolls of magic circle against evil, but would rather hold onto those until I know whether it is actually necessary. Paracountess Dralneen gave me these scrolls personally as a reward for one of my discoveries, and they hold sentimental value as well as monetary." Besides, those things are worthless to my pure magic. Such things are just for paladins and other fanatics! Thaeos leans over to stare at the various magical items from scant inches away, "Hmm . . . these two items are hybridization funnels. With them, I could combine two alchemical weapons into one, although the process takes several minutes of careful work, and the mixture decays quickly. I would say that the resulting weapon needs to be used within a day or so to retain its potency." These are fascinating, though! I can't wait to mix acid and napalm together! After examining the flask, the old wizard leaves it lying there, "That has some value to those alchemists who must expend their own life essence to make their concoctions work, but for us it's only value is a few gold pieces." Crunch: Assuming that detect magic tells me the flask has a strong aura, I will cast identify before trying to identify it, then take 10 for a 37 Spellcraft.
It's 1 AM and I just got home, so this time I'm going to ask people to open the spoiler instead of rewriting it in Thaeos' words. Rolls:

message to Pathfinders:
"These are hound archons, but the Worldwound has corrupted them. That is not the natural color of their fur and eyes, nor do they normally have bone spurs sticking out of their joints like daggers.
"There is probably a way to reverse their condition, but that will require more study. And until we can heal them, I suggest verifying their information before we act on it. For all we know, removing that prism triggers a trap." Crunch: Knowledge (planes): 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (14) + 21 = 35

Are there any skill checks to help us decipher the puzzle? And I do speak Celestial, if it matters. "The first bar encodes the sixth and ninth acts of Iomedae, while the second bar corresponds to the fourth, eighth and eleventh acts. The third bar continues with the first, third and seventh acts, while the final bar encodes the fifth, second and tenth acts." Thaeos begins turning dials, not even asking for agreement before acting on his assumptions. Bars: 1 6, 9, blank, blank
2 4, 8, 1, 1 3 1, 3, 7, blank 4 5, 2, 1, 0
Thaeos looks at Numair, then the rest of the party, "I thought you said you were educated? These are the 11 acts of Iomedae, mandatory learning in any beginning theology course! "Please do not tell me that I need to list and explain them all." Rolls:
Knowledge (history): 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (19) + 18 = 37
Knowledge (religion): 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (3) + 20 = 23 11 Acts (in order): First: She slew the fell beast Nakorshor’mond and cut the still-sleeping bodies of her circle from its gullets.
Second: She defeated a coven of Garundi witches, freeing the city of Eleder from their tyranny. Third: While riding a griffon in an aerial battle, she cut the wings from Segruchen the Iron Gargoyle, so-called King of the Barrowood. While falling and before he could escape, she pursued and slew him. Fourth: With heartfelt words and a prayer to Arazni, she convinced a regiment of mortally wounded knights at the Second Battle of Encarthan to hold back a wave of wraiths long enough for reinforcements to arrive at dawn to save them. Fifth: She smote Erum-Hel, Lord of the Morghs, at the Battle of Three Sorrows (where the Whispering Tyrant returned Arazni’s body to the Knights of Ozem). This drove Erum-Hel to flee, crippled, to Orv. Sixth: After the Whispering Tyrant used magic to break her sword, she fused it together with a prayer and an oath to bring an end to his evil, with her pure heart and righteous ire reforging it in an instant. Seventh: An image of Iomedae appeared at a shrine to Aroden in Absalom, healing anyone virtuous who touched it and burning wicked folk who came too near. When she later became a goddess, the shrine was expanded into a temple dedicated to her, named the Seventh Church. Eighth: She convinced the graveknight known only as the Black Prince to throw himself upon his sword as punishment for his evil. This reversed his undead state, redeeming his soul and allowing him to be judged in the Halls of Aroden. Ninth: She gave nine drops of her blood to free nine righteous knights imprisoned by the vampire-mage Basilov; she and the knights then slew him when he attempted to recapture them. Tenth: She ruled the city of Kantaria for a year and a day while its lord, heirless patriarch of House Narikopolous, was missing. The city prospered despite constant attacks by shapechanging horrors—horrors which she battled personally. Eleventh: At the Pit of the Starstone in Absalom, she cast her cloak of common wool before her. It straightened and expanded to become a firm walkway across the gap, allowing her to enter the Cathedral and take the Test.
"Ghalcor was a true scholar who respected all knowledge, even that which others might have considered taboo or unimportant. Toward the end of his life, he recruited select crusaders for a mysterious project. Rumors say that it involved other planes of existence and the study of ethics. "Even though his work was crucial to later accomplishments like the wardstones, Iomedaen scholars today downplay Ghalcor's work, for it dipped into taboo Sarkorian rituals of bloodletting and self-sacrifice" Rolls: Knowledge (history): 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (16) + 18 = 34
Knowledge (religion): 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (14) + 20 = 34
Thaeos glances at Irizati and Baloo, then greets the newcomers, "I'm Thaeos, head librarian emeritus of the the Bredentious Library. Please tell me your names, and how was each of you educated?" He then walks over to the halfling and hands him a wand and a case of parchment, "Good to see you again, young priest! There's a new one in there for you. Some powerful healing." Items:

I haven't applied yesterday's chronicle yet, but will have it done by the end of the day. Edit: I rely heavily on the Current Campaigns tab, so if I miss anything it just means I forgot to manually check the thread--but a reminder PM should get me here within a few hours.
"Well, we better find a way to restrain Zahra for the journey back. Hopefully she was just enchanted by Moukadeem, and she will remember her true allegiances on waking. "Now . . . I'm going to take a look at this lamp while the rest of you take care of her." After checking Zahra, Moukadeem and their belongings for auras, Thaeos inspects the artifact carefully. Actions: Detect magic to find magical items, then identify via arcane bond. Taking 10 for 37 Spellcraft.
I won't touch anything until after identifying it isn't cursed, particularly Zahra's belongings.
Thaeos steps forward a few feet and strings together numerous alien sounding words. Actions:

Round 1: Theodore (freedom of movement)
Notes: I changed my mind, and am just going to stay in the hallway instead of protecting against the water. Used a few scrolls, blur on Amiri & Doubtful, and invisiblity on Merisiel. Excluding myself from haste. If Irizati needs a top off on mage armor, I'll do that on round 3.
"I suspect that the water will aid our enemies in some unknown way, and we should prepare for that. Myself, I am thinking about turning into an elemental and going invisible." Other than haste and enlarge person, I don't have much in the way of buffs. @GM: Would you allow me to cast spells in elemental form?
@GM: Do the double doors in our first room also open into the flooded room? And can I make any checks, Knowledge or otherwise, about what I see? "The chamber is a little bigger than 30' x 30', and flooded in about a foot of water. There is a lamp--presumbably the lamp--on a marble pedestal in an alcove on the southern wall. The walls are decorated with mosaics of Moukadeem's crimes. "Although, the artist seems to have represented them more as exploits, which is not a promising sign. And there are two undines meditating in the room, not just Zahra." This would be so much easier if Zahra weren't a Pathfinder. I'm going to have to use several precious scrolls now.
Ignan:
"Don't argue with a water elemental, he'll drown you in stupidity, then beat you with experience!" Thaeos utters several strange, guttural sounds, then busts out a full belly laugh. Actions: Standard Cast hideous laughter (DC 20)
Any chance I can reduce the "translation" bonus by knowing Ignan?
