My group are just finishing chapter 1. Rowyn escaped, but they stabalised Gut Tugger. A half-decent knowledge check gave the group information that Crested Fell Drakes are normally good, and a detect magic showed the collar as magic. They put 2 and 2 together and got 5. So they removed the collar, and healed the creature - which woke up, and attacked them. So they knocked it unconscious again. The Neutral Fighter who is a member of Zelkarune's Horns wants to take it to the Arena - bonus affiliation points for him.
One of the characters mentioned that the nobles in Sunrise district were elves, and maybe they would want to take the creature and look after it. A very 'loud' discussion took place just before we ended the session on what they should do, which was interested to listen in on. People were role-playing their alignments, and it was 'realistic' that the characters disagreed what to do, but they are going to have to make a decision as a group - dont know what that would be. So, I thought I'd post here to see what other people thought the various alignments should do in this situation.
Hi all, I'm about to start running SCAP from the mags (not the HC). I was asking advice on bringing in the 2 half-elves. The flow of the adventure as I understand it is
Once they are at Keygan's shop, they hopefully find the enterance to Jzadirune and from there, they are in the dungeon. So I was wondering the best time to introduce these characters as it says that they join the party for the rest of their mission. The only idea I can think of off-hand is once the group have dealt with Keygan, but before they go down, the two half-elves turn up. Just wondering what other people did?
I want to start the Shackled City campaign, but I only have the mags, not the full hardcover book. I dont fancy shelling out lots of cash for a book which I mostly already have. I'm happy to do 3.5 conversion on the first few, but I've read that the hardcover book fixes some 'errors' Can someone let me know what these were for just at least the first adventure? Thanks
Replying to my own post - sad I know. Anyway, was rereading the first scenario last night, and Vanthus' journal right at the end is very non-specific with its dates "2 days before the fire", etc. Would be nice if I actually put the date in there, so was wondering what other people have done Thanks all, Paul Grogan
Hi all, Starting the campaign in the new year, but got all the characters and backstory sorted already. The group arrived together but they are not a party as yet, so I have given them a couple of days each to do their own thing, which we are doing by email. Anyway, I dont have much greyhawk material (i.e none), so I was trying to work out when it was set and the only thing I could find was it was around 594cy. We generated a calendar day randomly and was ready to go. However, Dragon arrived this weekend with the journal of Lavinias parents, and that had dates in it, so I wanted to make sure I get it right. Does anyone know if it is listed anywhere how long it has been since that journal was written, how long since Lavinias parents were killed, and when the campaign should take place? Thanks all, Paul Grogan
Interesting question. Just throwing my 2p in. I was someone who, as someone who buys the mag every week from my FLGS and has been collecting since the very early issues, to give something only to the people that subscribe was totally unfair. As it turned out, whilst nobody openly apologised, I think this idea was regarded as a mistake and wasnt done again. So, no more subscriber content. However, I then asked if the subscriber content only could be made available for those of us who deserve it. What are we talking about here, scanning in about 20 pages and putting them up as a free download. Doesnt have to be nicely formatted even. I dont think that would take that long to do, and you certainly have the webspace. So, please can we get the bits we missed at some point in the future? |
