In the cleric spells per day table, what does the +1 refer to? I'm having trouble figuring this out.

So if I understand correctly, my skeleton will have the original hit points of the deceased creature plus an additional 4 hit points per hit dice of the skeleton?

How do I determine what my bloody Skelton's HP are? I have used animate dead in a desicrated area so the HD is 8 but I haven't been able to find any reference what the HP should be other that the standard Skeleton templates. Can anyone help me?

Side note: this is the first necromancer cleric I've ever played.
