Hello everyone!

So one of my player asked me a question about a spell, and, after reading it, im still not sure how it is suppose to work, so i thought I'd ask here!

Here is the spell, copied from srd

"Frost Fall
School evocation [cold]; Level druid 2, sorcerer/wizard 2, witch 2

CASTING
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S

EFFECT
Range close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Area 5-foot radius burst
Duration 1 round/2 levels
Saving Throw Fortitude partial; Spell Resistance yes

DESCRIPTION
The area of this spell is covered in chilling frost, dealing 2d6 points of cold damage to all creatures within it. Creatures that the spell initially damages must succeed at a Fortitude save or become staggered for 1 round. The area remains chilled for the spell’s duration. Any creature that starts your turn within the spell’s area takes 1d6 points of cold damage (Fortitude saving throw for half) but does not become staggered even on a failed saving throw."

So my question is more specifically about this part
"Any creature that starts your turn within the spell’s area takes 1d6 points of cold damage"

Im not familiar with that editing so i'm not sure how to interpret it. What im more used to is
"a creature that starts its turn..."
or "at the start of your turn, any creature within..."

So im not sure which one is suppose to apply to this specific case.

What are your thoughts on this?

Thanks!
Telk!

Thanks for the replies!

I've read the warlock, but I would prefer to stick with paizo pathfinder (and not 'pathfinder compatible')

I've thought about sorcerer as first choice for warlock of course, my only problem is it would make her and the wizard very much alike, and they have a strange relationship in my game, and this makes it a little weird

(Wizard is "pure and innocent" in my game, and warlock is "almost evil", and they fell in love, and now the wizard is drawn to the "almost evil" side, and loves the warlock power, tries to be like her, etc.)

I just don't like that they have the same spells available :(

I've been thinking about having the sorcerer cast with the words of power from ultimate magic to make it a little different, whats your thoughts about that?

As for the Magus suggestion, well, fighting in melee really doesnt fit for that character, im sorry :p (played a magus myself in a PF game and loved it though!)

And you're right about healing, I keep forgetting about wands! It really is something I have to get accustomed to I guess if I want to dm in PF :)

Greetings everyone!

It's my first post on these boards, and i'm looking for some advice :)

A long long time ago, I used to Dm a nice campaign in D&D 4e (please don't start an edition flame war here, that's not the point), and we haven't played in a very long while.

I've decided I want to pick that game up again, but this time, I'd like to convert it to Pathfinder (which as of now, we are all more comfortable with).

But here's the thing, I can convert npcs, monsters, items, all that very easily, but I do have some problems with the PCs classes.

Here is what my party looked like in 4e

Human Thief
Human Ardent
Tiefling Wizard
Tiefling Warlock (Infernal pact)

Now thief will go rogue, that's pretty easy. Wizard will most likely stay wizard. Now the ardent gets a little more complicated (psionic healer for those who don't know), but I think we've settled to having him switch Paladin.

My biggest concern is the Warlock...

She's a very important character in the story, and I'd like her character to stay as close as possible to what she was in 4e.

I also want her to be different from the wizard (in 4e, these 2 classes have different roles)

Additionally, do you guys think a single paladin has enough healing to support a group like that?

Hope you guys can give me some advice! My players have waited a long time for the chance to play in this game again :)

Thanks in advance!
