Hi
So I was DMing for some friends and two of them were playing wizards. During an encounter the two wizards showed some interesting spell combinations that I'd like to share and get advice on.
For the first one, one wizard hit a monster with Geyser and using a readied action the other opened a Spiked Pit under the falling creature. I didn't give the monster a save against the pit and used the geysers height and the pits depth to calculate the falling damage.
In second one, the first wizard cast Fireball and the second one, using a readied action again, trapped the target in a 10ft diameter Resilient Sphere just before the Fireball exploded. It was kind of cool so I told them they'd get a damage bonus if it the target didn't save, but no damage if it did.
I'm just curious how anyone else would have handled it.
On a side note, they asked what would happen when the pit spell ended if they sealed it with a wall of stone. I wasn't sure so I'm also asking that.
