Talvyra struggles to make sense of everything that happens, but her simple mind holds tightly to a few inflexible truths. She WILL protect her Hunt-Sister. And unsee-able opponents are dangerous opponents. Relying on Mal to intercept the huge bone-two-legs, Talvra stalks over towards her Hunt-sister, preparing a strike for the first of the little, unseeable bone-two-legs that she can find. Move so she's adjacent to Priyya. Talvyra's North-west corner is touching Priyya's South-east corner.
As she gets next to Hunt-sister, her nostrils flare, and she lashes out to her south-west, connecting with nothing.
Wow... most generous DM eva! Also, note, for anyone reading along, we won't be re-roling all bad rolls... this is just because we set ourselves up to fail here and want to make our attacks count. re-rolls: assuming power attack and flanking.
Okay, that's just what she gets. I'm not re-rolling her again.
Talvyra has followed Big Brother as long as she can remember. Through easy hunts and hard. In the back of her simple mind she knows this is the last hunt, but never does a pack-mate leave the alpha to die alone... Through the pain, the fear, the desperation, she fights on, even as her limbs fail her. Blue text:
Full attack with power attack.
claw 1d20 + 14 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 14 + 2 - 2 = 22;pa, flank. --- damage 1d6 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 7 + 4 = 16 claw 1d20 + 14 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 14 + 2 - 2 = 16;pa, flank. --- damage 1d6 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 7 + 4 = 16 bite 1d20 + 14 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 14 + 2 - 2 = 15; pa, flank --- damage 1d8 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 7 + 4 = 18 No way i'm wasting these piss-poor rolls on Mal...
Am i still re-rolling Talvyra's rolls? :) If so...: claw 1d20 + 14 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 14 + 2 - 2 = 32; PA, flanking
--- damage 1d6 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 4 = 15 claw 1d20 + 14 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 14 + 2 - 2 = 24; PA, flanking --- damage 1d6 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 7 + 4 = 16 bite 1d20 + 14 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 14 + 2 - 2 = 34; PA, flanking <-- CRIT? --- damage 8 + 7 + 4 = 19 CRIT CONFIRM (BITE) 1d20 + 14 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 14 + 2 - 2 = 23; PA, flanking
Talvyra's roar continues as she flashes claws and teeth ineffectualy over the resilenct scales of the cold snake thing. Blue text:
Circle to flank, then bite with power attack.
claw 1d20 + 14 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 14 + 2 - 2 = 16;pa, flank. --- damage 1d6 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 7 + 4 = 17 claw 1d20 + 14 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 14 + 2 - 2 = 17;pa, flank. --- damage 1d6 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 4 = 14 bite 1d20 + 14 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 14 + 2 - 2 = 22; pa, flank --- damage 1d8 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 7 + 4 = 12 sheesh
Talvyra's stats: HP 72/117; AC 27 Talvyra's roar comes on the heels of her Brother, her leader. Instinct has taught her to use their numbers to encircle and overwhelm larger prey, and that's exactly what she does. Stalking wide, she tries to find an angle to flank and pounces, looking to bring the cold, hard thing down. Blue text: Circle to flank, then bite with power attack.
Bite 1d20 + 14 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 14 + 2 - 2 = 19 --- damage 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14. --- Grab 1d20 + 18 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 18 + 2 - 2 = 21.
Talvyra lashes out at the passing thing, shrieking her fury for it taking Big Brother in its claws. You want my rolls spoilered? They're just such big blocks of rolls. I'm fine either way.
Rolls:
5' step to G-24. Then full attack... I don't think she has flanking but if she does, add +2. claw 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16 -- damage 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 claw 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 -- damage 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 bite 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 <-- Crit? -- damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 Crit Confirm 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
This is, of course, assuming Priyya doesn't kill it first. :)
Talvyra holds her ground, holding a low posture adn hissing at the giant creature. Her Hunt-sister needed her help, so she would hold. Talvyra goes full defensive where she is, readying a move action to shadow Priyya's movements (which will hopefully be into a side-room here. AC stays up like last round.
Talvyra stalks around behind the new opponent in red hard skins, stepping in carefully and delivering a testing swipe, ready to dodge if a return is forthcoming. Move Action - Skirt around her to the North, then stepping in to I-5.
Talvyra must have trained extensively with Mal, as she uses the same tactic, waiting for someone to make an example of. Delay until the first combatant ends his turn adjacent to Talvyra, then re-insert himself into the initiative order, immediately taking a full attack against the man - hoping to send a message to the rest of them.
Talvyra grins as she sees the long-tooth bearing two-leg struggle with the grasping plants, and takes advantage of it's weakness, risking another attack for a taste of it's blood. AC is back up to 19. Move to the square to the left of the spear-wielder directly south of her(AF-24), provoking an AoO. Then biting 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11; damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Stupid Handle Animal roll! Talvyra, ignoring Big Brother's bossiness, roars a challenge as she charges the nearest soft two-leg. Charge to AD-25. THe attack goes on the mook in AE-24.
What's with all the crap rolls recently?
Mal roars out an order in his feline tongue (Handle Animal: Guard the group to Little Sister. 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24.) and Talvyra reacts instantly, long limbs eating the ground in an attempt to get in a defensive position. Spying Dakmane first, Talvura sprints to stand with her hunt-sister- easily leaping the sliver of shortly sand on the way. Full round action to try to run to AC-24. I think she has enough movement... Speed 40 x 4. Acrobatics to jump over the 2 squares of sand - 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18. just trying to get into apposition to help Priyya not get flanked.
The hunting cat breaks from her wary study of the room to respond in a throaty and vexed-sounding growl. Felinish:
"Oh, really, Big Brother? It's nice to be considered for once by a two-legs at all..." Her acid tone makes it clear he is not excluded from her observation. "Maybe I'll save you some of those mice... If you ask nicely." Then she stands up and crosses in front of the crouching warrior to sit in front of Priyyas legs, non-challantly whacking Mals face with a swipe of her tail on the way by.
Talvyra's fore-legs stretch out before her as she luxuriates on a sunny spot of the soft grass in this stone jungle, enjoying both the feel of the new sun as well as the company of her new dark-maned hunt-sister. One of the meek, pink two-paws interrupts her tongue-lolling yawn, but Talvyra's mouth waters upon seeing the mound of meat it bears. Finally… all this stone jungle has to offer is loads of fluff-tails and blue-wings. How can one fill on that meager meal? She watches in amusement as he timidly deposits the meat in front of her and scurries back a few steps. Talvyra cuts an amused pair of eyes over at her new hunt-sister, At least these two-paws show proper respect. Then she dives into her meal. Got a post in the works for Mal, but won't be able to get it finished til this afternoon sometime. Would love to catch the crew at breakfast, but if things progress further by then, that's fine.
Talvyra hops up into the cabin and - able to read Priyya's body language if not understand her words - climbs into the seat next to her, where she sits staring at the dark-skinned monk across from her, expression unreadable. Just a heads up, Talvyra can't actually understand common yet. She can only talk to Mal because of a class feature. Once we hit lvl 4, she will begin to actually understand Common, which will make stuff like this far easier.
The smoky cat's bright green eyes follow the dark woman as she circles slowly, her head and neck swiveling on an otherwise statuesque body. As Priyya settles into a crouch the cat's haunches spring from the ground, and there is a moment of bloated tension as you all wonder if it's an aggressive move or not. She tilts her head to the side slowly, however, as Priyya begins to speak softly. Legs left too long in a crouch extend in a graceful stretch as she makes her way to the waiting Priyya, nose rising rhythmically as she breathes in the warrior woman's scent. The predominant emotion Priyya registers from the sleek black cat is that of curiosity, and she stands for a full minute staring into Priyya's eyes from mere inches, deep inhales and exhales the only response to the woman's words. I figure those rolls work well enough if they were diplomacy… Finally a nearly silent rumbling of a purr rolls from the cat's throat, and it casts a backwards glance at the tall warrior and gives few grunting mewls in his direction. Priyya: As you peer into the predator's green eyes from inches away, there seems to be an intelligent look of recognition. Somehow through non-verbal cues, you get the distinct feeling that she is saying to you, 'I see you, hunt-sister'. |
