Spoiler:
Her family, her home, her future. All were taken from her. Death has been her constant companion, her dearest firend, and her most stalwart of allies and she seeks to master it's dark secrets.
When she was twelve a magical plague struck her homeland, killng all but a few of the inhabitants and making the land inhospitable. In that day of mourning she lost all that she'd known. No longer was she an innocent young girl.
For weeks she was left alone with none but the dead for company and she came to understand Death. When the clerics of Orran arrived in the devastated land on a mission of mercy to resuce the survivors and stop the plague from spreading, they found the young half-elf and took her in as an acolyte. She was taken to a distant temple and trained in the ways of Orran. The way of light and knowledge.
Talia didn't fit in at the temple, preferring to spend her days studying in the extensive temple library rather than in prayer to a god in whom she had little faith. Sometimes she would spend an entire day and night sitting in the graveyard, meditating on the mysteries of Death. She was puzzeled. How could a god that claimed to represent good, light, and enlightenment hate the undead, her friends? Her days in the graveyard reading ancient tomes left her more at ease with the dead than the living and she further withdrew from the rest of the world even further, becoming more and more disliked by her teachers and fellow acolytes.
In her studies she found small bits of information about the faith of Thetos, information that aroused her interest and soon she fled from the temple and sought out the clergy of Thetos. She was taken to another temple and this time she was home.
She rose through the ranks of acolytes quickly, channeling her patron's power with rare ease.
At the temple, a life changing event occured; she met an old man named Gerivor. Gerivor was the caretaker of the town's cemetary and she soon learned that he also possessed arcane talents. Fascinated by the Arcane arts, she convinced the old man to share his knowledge and soon she began to master the more basic arcane spells. It didn't take long for her to start to blend her two talents and she found that Arcane and Divine magic combined well.
A few months ago she recieved an omen in the form of her mentor's death. She took Gerivor's spellbook, packed her meager belongings and set out with the blessing of the temples clergy to explore the world and seek out the mysteries of death and fate.
Now Talia wanders the land, seeking the mysteries of death and studying the spellbook of her mentor. She has found much insight in the pages of that ancient tome and feels that she may be close to a greater mastery of arcane magic. She feels a great dislike bordering o hatred for the clerics of Orran for their hatred and purging of the undead, who she considers enlightened beings.
She has come to Versonton because she has the feeling that soon there will be death there and perhaps in that death she can find insight.
Talia is a slight woman of about 5'2. She has large green eyes and long raven black hair that frames a pale, thin face. She generally wears long white robes that are stiched with midnight blue necromantic sigils and, prominently down the front of the robe and on the sleeves, the symbol of Thetos, a silver version of which she also wears around her neck. She carries a staff engraved with symbols of power (which previously belonged to Gerivor) and often has a look in her eyes that isn't entirely present.
