Where do I find the tables for epic progression of the core classes in Complete Adventurer and the classes in Book of 9 Swords? I tried the Wizards site but can't find anything, and I'm fairly sure they are not in their respective books..

(one time bump) bump

Can the hulk get so angry, and thus get so strong....

that he could PUNCH THROUGH TIME?!

Hey, a while back there was an issue of dragon detailing magic items especially nifty for assassins. One of them was a pair of goggles or a mask of some sort that shortened the time it took to study a target for Death Attack. Not having my collection with me, and I'm 2 hours away from home, does anybody feel nice enough to put the jist of what it does, or even the name of it and the issue it's in? I would greatly appreciate it either way. Thank you.

I need to remove all of my payment metheods. The accounts under them are either closed or empty. I also want to cancel my month-to-month subscription and don't know how. I plan on getting a 12 issue subscription for x-mas. Thanks.

....are there any? Don't tell me I bought the gargantuan black and colossal red for nothing!

Nah, they're cool to look at anyways.

A friend of mine is doing a 17th level campaign. Magic is dead, but psionics is allowed. I've decided on being a 17th level human nomad, considering it is only base races allowed also. My girlfriend is making a 17th level scout specializing in ranged combat. The other player is gonna make a rogue of some sort.

The idea for this guy is gonna be being able to get himself and any companions anywhere and anytime. Teleport, planeshift, dimension door, all that good stuff. Other than that I have no idea what would be useful for magic (psionic now I guess) items to buy, offensive powers, feats, etc.

So I'm open to suggestions to anything, also opinions on psionics in a campaign. I have the EXP and Complete Psionic, so I should be covered. Thanks in advance.

Well, I kinda want to wait till I have all the mags before I begin the savage tide, but I dunno how long till the last one comes out. The problem seems to be that once summer is over everyone has to move away. It really sucks. So whens the last encounter going to be available? August? Cause if it is I won't bother trying to run it now only to have everyone split before the last one is out.

Well, found this surfing Rotten. It's good to know that if I ever murder someone for making fun of my HOBBY I can blame said hobby. Enjoy, and give me your thoughts everybody.

DETROIT (Court TV) - On Oct. 27, 2004, James Flemons walked into work with a homemade samurai sword and slashed his co-worker to death.

Prosecutors say Flemons, then 30, was angry because of constant bullying by the victim, Anthony Williams, and other co-workers at Peerless Metal Powders & Abrasive.

But Flemons' lawyer says he is schizophrenic with a psychotic obsession with fantasy role-playing games, including Dungeons & Dragons.

Opening statements in Flemons' murder trial are expected Wednesday.

Williams arrived at his job the day of the killing armed with a homemade 38-inch samurai sword. Witnesses told police that Flemons appeared to hand Williams a piece of metal in a chivalrous manner, as if challenging him to a duel, before chasing him and stabbing him to death.

The medical examiner ruled that Williams died as a result of "multiple chop wounds to the neck."

Witnesses told police that, after the killing, Flemons bought a beer and cigar at a nearby convenience store. He then returned to the scene and positioned Williams' body as if on a cross. Then he opened the beer and lit the cigar as he waited for the police to arrive, his colleagues said.

In a voluntary statement to police, Flemons admitted attacking Williams in response to constant bullying about his fantasy game obsession.

Less than a month after Williams' death, Flemons was found not competent to stand trial and was sent to the State Center for Forensic Psychiatry in Ypsilanti for further evaluation.

To be declared competent to stand trial, an individual must understand the nature of the proceedings and be able to assist counsel in defending their case.

Under Michigan law, the state has 15 months in which to medicate and treat individuals de emed not competent to stand trial. If the person is still found not competent at the end of that period, prosecutors can file to have him committed to a mental institution.

Flemons' lawyer, David Roby, said his client was deemed competent to stand trial only two weeks before the 15-month deadline was reached.

"The doctors said that even though he's hearing voices out of the television that are directing aspects of his life and he's suffering from other mood-altering delusions ... 'he's made such progress we think he's competent,'" Roby said.

Roby said Flemons was obsessed with magic, fantasy, the occult, voodoo, Santeria, telekinesis and spirits.

"He played Dungeons & Dragons and was obsessive with games of fantasy, anything that helped him get away from people and hide from them in his own little cocoon," Roby said.

The defense attorney rejected any notion that Flemons acted in a cold, calculated way, saying instead that his client is "delusional and psychotic."

"This is a case about whether, as a society, we hold the psychotic responsible for every act they commit," Roby said.

Deputy Prosecutor Kam Towns said her case will focus on the testimony of former colleagues who witnessed the attack and that of a forensic psychologist.

Towns also said she hopes to introduce Flemons' 1998 conviction of felonious assault for attacking his uncle with a samurai sword. He also attacked the police officer who responded to the scene.

He was sentenced to two years' probation.

Roby said that although Flemons was deemed competent to stand trial in that case, the doctors who evaluated him said he "probably was suffering from a thought disorder, a delusional disorder, which is to say, schizophrenia."

Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Annette Berry is expected to rule before trial Wednesday on whether Flemons' prior conviction can be introduced at trial.

If Flemons is found guilty of first-degree murder, he will automatically be sentenced to life in prison without parole. A verdict of guilty but mentally ill, however, would mean a life sentence in the prison psychiatric ward.

If the jury returns a verdict of not guilty by reason of insanity, Flemons would be sent to the state's mental health facility, where the doctors would maintain sole discretion over his fate. They could opt to release him at some point if they consider him well.

The jury also has the option of finding Flemons guilty of second-degree murder, which would require the judge to sentence him.

Flemons' trial is expected to last five days and will be aired live on Court TV

Question: Let's say we've got a fighter, who's got the improved Trip feat and prefers to swing around a spiked chain as weapon of preference. He's got a base attack bonus of 6, meaning 2 attacks in a round. Say he's within range of 2 goblins. Can he trip both, one per attack, or can he trip one, be succesful, give up his extra attack after tripping and trip the other, be successful on that one as well, then hit both? Just wondering. I don't think the rules say, so it's open to discussion.

Alright, I remembered a questioned that's bugged me for a long time now. Specifically since the night my players freed a genie and in return each got one wish. The one that was a real problem was that one of the players wished for a bag of money that would never run out. I told him no, but then he wished for a million gold. And that had me stumped, which is the question: If you use a wish for gold, how much would you give? Should it even be allowed?

I don't know what to click on, and I changed banks.

I forget if was on google video or youtube, the one where it's 2 guys who play D&D together (it's fake) and it's really funny.
"Did you ever get beat up for wearing your cloak to school?" was one of the jokes from it. I just wanna show a friend of mine.

We're hopefully going to start the SCAP later tonight, and there are 3 of us. I've been playing for 2 years, the other is brand new, and the last player has little experience and what he does know isn't much because I think that DM's that give their players Infinite bags of holding full of gold that refills and major artifact weapons at FIRST LEVEL need to be shot. In the head.

So, to make up for the lack of players, we're going gestalt. I'm sure everyone knows what that is, especially here. Well, I don't know what the other halves of their characters are going to be.

So far we have a halfing rogue and a gnome bard. I have yet to even decide what the first half or race of mine is going to be. I'm pretty sure I'll be the healing battery, which I enjoy, and it's easy cause I've done it before. But we also need a meat shield, somebody to fill the roll of melee or damn near close.

Now, I'm not asking for metagame info or anything, I'm just calling out to those who have been in/run this campaign before and asking what was useful? Thanks in advance.

I was just wondering how you guys here go about explaining what the game is and how to play to someone with little to no RPG experience? I'm relocating and the 2 friends I have where I'm moving show interest in learning. Usually I explain what the game is, the point of it (having fun with friends making nasty jokes about elves), and then only afterwards do I start getting into the math. It's just that I got so sick of explaining it to someone over the course of a couple of hours only to have the person say "wait, you just imagine it in your head? sounds dumb". How do you guys go about it?

I'll be moving there in early july, and I don't want to really quit yet, considering how much work I went through to get my books. I can DM, though I prefer to be a player most of the time. So anyone in the Lincoln/Omaha area looking for either, here you go.

No racists please. I've known too many DM's around here who hate hispanics, even though I'm Lithuanian, it still disgusts me.

Oh, and if you happen to be part time/hobbist muscian, I can drum. have my own set. No metal core though. Ew.

So my girlfriend borrows 134 to read up on "and madness followed' because she thought it sounded interesting. I made her promise not to look at Into the wormcrawl fissure. So she left the magazine, cover down, on her desk before school. Seems that her cat tipped over a very well placed glass of water and... dragotha's mighty frame had to be scrapped off the desk.

The cover is ruined, as it is no longer connected to the actual pages. The age of worms adventure is still legible though the pages feel grimy. I reckon I'll back order one and give her one hell of a guilt trip. No, she already feels bad enough, cause she bought me the PHB II. Which is quite interesting. But the whole thing reminded me on how frail these things are that we value so much. Paper and ink..

He just...quit. The kid that for weeks at a time everyday would ask me "when are we gonna play" and would always jump at the oppurtunity to drive home to grab his dice and all that wonderful stuff just quits on us right in the middle of Prince of Redhand.

Why? Apparently it's because I bugged him too much to play and he's still 'pissed at me' because after hanging up on me twice even after I'm trying to be the graceful one by not being offended, etc- Telling me he doesn't know when he'll play again, then telling others that I suck. As to why I suck, either as a person, DM, or both, I can't figure. I guess I'm being modest.

It's not that I don't mind him wanting to quit, but it's just that my other players want to kill him now. In real life. That's not good. Can somebody give me a similar story and what happened? Just randomly quitting right in the high arc of the campaign?

Love the character/hate the player...

Okay, what's this Maure castle thing all about? I haven't the slightest idea and I wonder why it's so cool to have a key in Dragotha's horde (hoard?)? What mags is it in? How many are there? Is it an actual adventure path? My girlfriend said she read one of the recent ones and wants to run it but our dungeon collection is only back to the one previous to the AOWs path beginning.

My aunt told my brother how she worries about me because I play 'that dungeons and dragons' and how much her church group so bravely spreads the word that the game is satanic and is entwined with wicca and the occult.
So I'm trying to find this old comic online that showed D&D as a way to induct people into witchcraft and how people would kill themselves when their characters would die, etc. Somebody on here must of giggled at it as well.

See, I'm not offended at all. I love to mess with people. I love to fuel their misconceptions and bigotry. So when this girl I had to sit next to during play practice asked me about my issue of Dragon I was reading, I told her it was satanic and she just kinda huffed and left me be. Hell, my girlfriend reads Dungeon in biology. I want to make it clear that I don't go around saying "I PLAY D&D! BEWARE!" but only try to scare off people I already dislike. It's happened to some of you hasn't it? Don't you just get sick of trying to explain it's just a game and just want to say "It's beyond you" even though that would be too stuck up for your usual demenor.

I just thought I'd ask how the Spire of Long shadows is going for everyone considering my usually insanely powerful group is having at least one party member dropped into the negatives each fight. I even rolled up an NPC of mine and pratically munchkinized him yet it's still a battle to the point where my players are looking at me and saying "Good god how much does he add to his damage?!". It's a toughie. So, how'd everyone else do?

That covers it. What issue of dragon did an article appear about magical facepaints? You know, you could get em painted on for 200 gp or so and activate them for +10 on hide checks and what not. Much appreciated. I told my girlfriend that I saw it, and she had this thing for facepaint with her scout before battles before that issue even came out. Thanks again.

I'm making a wizard, human, for the SCAP. Any tips? I can't pick a prestige class, and he's starting out at second level. Alignment is still up in the air. I just want to hear some interesting ideas or things you've done with the class. Thanks.

Honestly folks, how badly do you need em? I'd say if you can't continue the age of worms (for example) without knowing if the last syllable in the villians name is changed to something even more hard to pronounce, can't you try and do something else for the 30 days? Such as freelancing, side missions, back ground development? Not that I'm attacking anyone because they need the updates, cause they're nice to have. I just thought it was kind of funny how worked up the threads are getting and how many times Mona has to tell you to be patient.
Go ransack a village! Kill a Thayan Enclave! Loot an Imaskari/Netherian tomb!

I bought the SCAP book off Ebay for 40 bucks, and am still waiting for it to be delivered. I was wondering what everyone thought, overall, about the adventure? DM's and player's opinions welcome, as well as any tips, etc. Thanks.

What would the pricing be on furniture in D&D? Instead of using the old mining office, my PC's took over the old observatory (it's owner was dead, and they bought it for 500 gold, and then rent at 10 gold a month) and the Warmage took all the old tables and chairs, beds, boxes, pretty much everything that wasn't nailed down and smelled of decayed flesh and burned it, detailing to me how he stood in the smoke with a smile on his face. Then he went to the store and bought sets of everything. I tallied it at 200 gold, but I didn't feel that was accurate.

I know I saw the stats (portfolio, domain, alignment etc) for this worm lover somewhere, I just can't find it for the life of me.

What the heck is a Phaerimm? I hear of them in various Forgotten Realms articles but I've never come across an explanation, and they're usually responsible for the downfall of several civilizations.

How much does it cost to get a raise dead spell from a 10th level cleric? I just want to absolutly sure. A character of our group died because the warmage had to burn everyone including the lizard barbarian within 5 feet of himself for 28 damage.

I want to know more about the whole Wind Dukes and the Rod of seven parts. Which issues of dungeon/dragon were the information and adventures in? Or is there some online supplement I'm overlooking?

Okay, so we're in the Labryinth of Vecna, all the small passages making the party form single file. My problem is what happends when a character wants to move through an occupied square containing an ally? I've looked in the PHB and DMG. I've been making them roll tumble checks, and its giving them a headache. Help a novice DM out please

I'm new to the board, so I apoligize in advance for starting a thread probably done to death several times before. So what was everyone's favorite? Brag away.
