The stairwell that terminates in 3-12, can be accessed via rooms 2-20 (throne in room), 1-27 (throne in room) and C5 (cavern). 3-12 connects to 3-13, which in turn connects to S-1. So the fastest way to S1 is by getting to room 2-20, then up two spiral flights of stairs.

Once we have gotten to 3-13, Hexor and Vexor can teleport us anywhere in the Horn.

Taeral moves as quickly as possible via the teleports to get to the scrying room. From there he will update others of what was found, if he doesn't encounter something on the way. Additionally he can call on Hexor and Vexor to assist in any needed defense.

No preference here. I enjoy players playing what they want and parties that don't have a perfect fit. It causes the group to learn +/- of the group and how to deal with those negatives.

So as I cannot imagine the field layout at all, as a 60' radius darkness which prevents darkvision from functioning, and should have resulted in anyone inside of it moving at half speed, but still allows enemies to engage with my allies with no miss chance and/or able to move 60' some feet, Taeral will just be bewildered.

Taeral begins a dirge of doom, telling the tale of a border keep meant to keep the northern hordes away from the south, only to fall by treachery from within.

Dirge of Doom, all enemies within 30' are shaken, if they can hear the dirge. No save.

He will then move the in the direction of this allies.

Where is this banner at? On his lance?

Tearal moves out of his hiding toward the rest of the mounted knight.
When he gets as close as he dares, he reaches down to the earth and bring forth magical darkness.

Moving as close to the front of the column with out provoking and casting deeper darkness. 60' Radius Deeper Darkness. That should prevent them from charging or seeing the cavalier (Sir Valin).

Also assuming the ambient light is normal natural light, it will result in the area being darkness, but darkvision will not work.

I see no reason to hand them over to the Cardinal, he gave us authorization to deal with them. If we can convert them to our agenda, all the better as is would demonstrate our ability to not waste useful resources. If not able to convert, then no big loose.

At a minimum, Elise Zadaria, needs to die as she is their leader and the cardinal as approved the end of the 7th Knot. I one or more of the others can be converted to support us, I am not opposed to that possibility. Sense in wasting 'good' assets that have already been trained.

Taeral recommends that the Ancient Tree takes a position near the stair entrances to the Horn. He explains that the cavern entrance is guarded by the boggards and they need to be able to come and go as needed. Inside the Horn proper, we have access to the teleportation devices to come and go between levels or even out of the Horn. This leaves our biggest weakness, in his opinion, as the three stairway/physical entrances.
