I started playing pathfinder at a local game shop as society was coming out to test out the game as a favor. I ended up enjoying it but wanted to play more.

Eventually I even went to cons like gen-con. I really enjoyed it. Even just walking around to see the cosplay was a blast.

After a while I wanted to start playing in private games like campaigns. Every person I ever asked never wanted me in their games. Even one person didn't want me playing in other peoples games.

The guy I tested the first game out for society when I asked him to keep me in mind when others were starting a campaign or looking for players refused to mention my interest to anyone at my local game shop.

Another guy at my local game shop advertised online that they needed players for a campaign. I responded and was refused for a "lack of experience" but I wasn't asked what my experience was or told what amount of experience I needed.

A little while later I started running society games dispite not being interested in doing so. To me I disliked the experiences because I second guess myself and think the worst things about my performance as a DM.

After a while I noticed another player being treated poorly for their enthusiasm with the game. I had to stop playing. It felt as though these games being ran at my local game shop were merely being ran/facilitated to find players for the groups that were excluding myself and others.

The guy I noticed that was being treated poorly... I haven't seen him at that shop in a very long time. I also have stopped going because I don't feel welcome there.

Game shops, tabletop groups, etc. Need to stop acting like bullies. I'll never play another RPG because of these experiences and I may never come up to my local shop to play another game ever again. And in my case this one shop is practically my only option.

I need some rule clarification on raise dead and restoration. So I played an adventure tonight and got to the first encounter and died because a mimic with tentacles tried to eat me. I'm sure you guys can figure out for yourselves which adventure I'm referring to.

Right after I died I wanted to get raise dead cast on me using prestige points but the GM wouldn't allow me to during the adventure even though on the guild guide it says "Note that it's possible for a player to spend her character's prestige points even if the pc is dead, petrified, or otherwise out of commission. In essence this represents the pc having made prior arrangements with her faction to perform certain action on her behalf, such as recovering her dead body and returning it to a specific location or having it raised from the dead. In this event, the pc's actual location does not impact the prestige point cost."

Should I have been able to get raise dead cast on me mid adventure to continue the scenario instead of having to sit around for 4 hours just to get my chronicle sheet with no credit?

I'm running the Devil We Know pt. 1 Shipyard Rats this friday because our group needs a third table and we have consistently had those 3 tables filled ever week for the past 3 months. Because I hate exclusion with a passion I volunteered to run a game to get started and I eventually want to run The Rebel's Ransom because I loved the scenario.

I read the Core Rulebook in its entirety in a week and a half and have read over the Scenario multiple times and I have read it every day for the last 2 weeks to memorize it and come up with some ideas to make the game better for the players.

I'm running out of time and because of work (a whole lot of 12's) I have had little time to do some of the prep work I have been meaning to do. Because I do not know all of the rules by heart I wanted to be able to quick reference them in my Core Rulebook (physical copy) by using sticky notes for rules pertaining to combat, spells, and anything useful for GMing and this scenario specifically. At work I am only able to read my digital copy so I couldn't do that.

I ask as a first time GM that someone who is has read the adventure (The Devil We Know Pt. 1) reference some pages in the comments so that I can get my quick references on the pages for the table to run more smoothly. I don't want the players to feel jipped because I had to end the scenario before we were finished. I may have work that night And the scenario might run a bit longer than I hope it will because I can't get prep work done in time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I recently ordered the Pathfinder adventure Path #100: A song of Silver(hell's rebels 4 of 6) and it has been raining a lot in the area recently. Today when I got the order the package was wet on one side. I opened the package and along the pages of the book there was water damage. Obviously I don't blame anyone. My advice is that you should send your products wrapped in plastic or at least when you're shipping out to Central Illinois.

The damage is just really going to bug the crap out of me in the future I know it.
