I'm about to start a group for Skull & Shackles in about two weeks and am thinking about running a short dungeon before the AP actually starts. The group is 3-4 new people that haven't played Pathfinder, but are at least a little familiar with D&D 5e. The plan is sort of a rats in the tavern cellar situation, with some other creatures a little deeper that chased the rats out into the cellar. I also plan to include some obstacles that have multiple ways to clear them, to demonstrate the different skill checks that may apply to different situations. I think if it goes the way I'm thinking it will work better than just saying you can do all these things with no actual experience doing them.

Has anybody that has run this ap also gm'd for starfinder? I have seen many complaints that ship to ship combat is very pilot centric. In starfinder everybody has a role to do in ship combat, I am wondering if something similar could be implemented?

Thanks Ravingdork!
That's almost certainly what I will do. I just was curious as to whether anybody on here had a similar situation. I'm sure the player will appreciate the allowance of an ability out of the normal. I didn't want to punish her and say that her ability wouldn't work with armor, as that is a serious penalty!

Thanks again guys for the help!

one of my players bought a pawn set that is misprinted...the opposite side is upside down...thus the pawn only has one side with the correct art. the other side art is upside-down and not even on the right piece. not sure what pawn set it is though I want to say its pact worlds

I was thinking something similar...but the armors that are specifically clear or only a couple of physical parts with forcefields are all higher level. I guess I might go with the idea that the armor is custom and thus still compatible with the racial ability.
Thanks guys!

I have a player that made a Verthani Operative. She hasn't actually played yet, but asked about the Skin Mimic ability, mainly if Second Skin armor negates the ability. I'm curious as to whether I should allow the ability to function with her armor or not.

So my players just killed old Crackjaw. The fighter who has armorcrafting wants to make his shell into a shield. what sort of bonus would a shell be for a shield made of a turtle shell?

Ok so the pdfs are just as good. Can you print the encounter maps from the pdfs easily? I've been sketching them out on the back of Christmas wrapping paper...the back is a 1" grid. My players really liked having the maps to play out the combat encounters. Would the pdfs be worth buying for the first two books?

I'm GMing for a few friends and have the first two books. I would like to get the rest as the actual book not the pdfs. Do you fellow GMs have a preference of paper vs pdf? The pdfs are obviously cheaper and easier to get, but is it worth having the actual book?
