Oh, you are right! Having to wait until Level 8 would make no sense at all.

Regarding not asking for errata: I just don't want to unbalance the game too much. Having feats with thrown weapons when they are not supposed to be used with thrown weapons could unbalance the game really badly, hence I find it important that it is an official rule.

But yeah, after reading Ascalaphus' post it really IS common sense that Dual Thrower works with the additional feats. Now there is no question about it anymore.

Thank you guys!!

It sounds like a lot of fun to play. A true annoyance to any enemy.

Kobolds also have other Ancestry Feats that can be useful for Swashbucklers:

Scamper combines really well with the Vivacious Speed Class Feature (which gives Swashbucklers extra speed). At lvl 11 that's 55 feet of movement in panache, meaning that most humanoid enemies would have to use up all 3 actions to get back in melee range against you. And if they do, you just attack twice and use Scamper again. It doesn't get more annoying than that.

Between the Scales is a perfect fit for Swashbucklers when combined with Tumble Behind, Unbalancing Finisher or Grovel.

Dragon's Presence is nice for Braggarts to gain panache.

Since Swashbucklers tend to have high Charisma, Dracomancer and Elite Dracomancer are fantastic Ancestry Feats. Having 4 spells in your repertoire is just cool.
Choosing True Strike could be good to make sure that your finisher lands, and at later levels to get a decent chance of causing 18d6 damage with Lethal Finisher.
Choosing Fleet Step is good if you want to annoy the enemies even more.
And so many other fun options with these two Ancestry Feats...

You definitely bring up valid points here.

It surely would be weird if the only feats that profited from Dual Thrower were Flensing Slice and Dual-Weapon Blitz.
Then again, it would also be weird to be able to use Twin Parry with your two slings.

I agree, it should be clarified in a future errata. It should clearly state whether the Additional Dual-Weapon Warrior feats are compatible with Dual Thrower or not.

Oh wow this is awesome! I've been looking for a tool like this. I'll definitely use this to test out combats and rough character concepts.
I'll let you know if I have the feeling that I miss something important.
The other tools on the sidebar look fun as well.
Thanks for putting this together and sharing it Leitner!! Really appreciated.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

I'd love to see an addition to Quick Draw:
"You Interact to draw a weapon, then Strike with that weapon. Alternatively, you can draw two weapons without striking."

Thematically it would make a lot of sense, and it would let you use specific dual wield thrown weapon feats on your second action.

Maybe they don't allow that because it would be too powerful...don't know.

Cool, thanks for the help!

I would say yes.

OK yes makes sense. I just came across the level 14 feat of the Dual-Weapon Warrior and it specifically applies to Double Slice. So Double Slice should also work with thrown weapons on its own (with Dual Thrower).

Swashbuckler's Style:

Fencer
You move carefully, feinting and creating false openings to lead your foes into inopportune attacks. You are trained in Deception. You gain panache during an encounter whenever you successfully Feint or Create a Diversion against a foe.

______________________________________________________

Kobold Ancestry Feat:

Grovel [Single Action] (Feat 5)
Auditory Concentrate Emotion Kobold Mental

Prerequisites: trained in Deception

With obsequious words and begging gestures, you convince your foe you're less of a threat. You attempt to Feint against a creature. Unlike a normal Feint, the creature can be within 30 feet instead of in your melee reach, and you make your check against its Will DC instead of its Perception DC.

If a Kobold Fencer Swashbuckler uses Grovel, does he get panache?
From a roleplay perspective this would make a lot of sense, since the kobold tricks his oponent into focussing on someone else. But I'm not sure if this is RAW or not?

I have a question on the first two feats of the Dual-Weapon Warrior Archetype (APG p. 170):

DUAL-WEAPON WARRIOR DEDICATION (FEAT 2)
ARCHETYPE DEDICATION

You’re exceptional in your use of two weapons. You gain the Double Slice fighter feat (Core Rulebook 144). This serves as Double Slice for the purpose of meeting prerequisites.
Special: You can’t select another dedication feat until you gain two other feats from the dual-weapon warrior archetype.

____________________________________________________________________

So the Dual-Weapon Warrior Dedication feat grants me the fighter feat 'Double Slice':

DOUBLE SLICE [Two Actions] (FEAT 1)
FIGHTER

Requirements: You are wielding two melee weapons, each in a different hand.

You lash out at your foe with both weapons. Make two Strikes, one with each of your two melee weapons, each using your current multiple attack penalty. Both Strikes must have the same target. If the second Strike is made with a weapon that doesn’t have the agile trait, it takes a –2 penalty.
If both attacks hit, combine their damage, and then add any other applicable effects from both weapons. You add any precision damage only once, to the attack of your choice. Combine the damage from both Strikes and apply resistances and weaknesses only once.
This counts as two attacks when calculating your multiple attack penalty.

____________________________________________________________________

The second Dual-Weapon Warrior feat is:

DUAL THROWER (FEAT 4)
ARCHETYPE
Prerequisites: Dual-Weapon Warrior Dedication

You know how to throw two weapons as easily as strike with them. Whenever a dual-weapon warrior feat allows you to make a melee Strike, you can instead make a ranged Strike with a thrown weapon or a one-handed ranged weapon you are wielding. Any effects from these feats that apply to one-handed melee weapons or melee Strikes also apply to one-handed ranged weapons and ranged Strikes.
____________________________________________________________________

Since 'Dual Thrower' allows me to replace melee Strikes with thrown weapon strikes, does this mean that I can use Double Slice with two thrown weapons?
