I'm with space mcman. I think everyone has made there point (a couple times) so much so think most of us are just skimming the reports or at least I am. Time to give the developers time to work and hope to see a new book in a year or so.

OK well yes charisma is not as strong A Stat as say Dex. Everyone knows that and as far as Mad goes I can see that but that's nothing new (don't mean to do the look at pathfinder x but it's the same designers). But it seems that you get more class power right? To balance out having to take charisma. I mean if you do almost as much damage or the same damage as a strength based soldier then you have to be getting power from somewhere right?

Wait that's the problem? That they don't have as good saves as Soliders and use charisma (and as far as I can see still do a good job at melee)?

Lord six pages and I'm still waiting to see what the problem with solarians are.

Did you know when you post your point in all caps you lose 60% of your credibility with people named Mike roper? Also lose 30% for being a jerk about it. Also not true it affects the DC of Solarian powers

Why is no one comparing there Solarian with the 3rd melee build? Namely the operative!! We all know that there is more to mage killing than good saves and damage!! There's hitting them as well

But in all honesty we should be talking about the Solarian problem. (hands surrounding text) "People".

Oddly in starfinder bonuses and penalties don't make good characters only less than optimized ones. That is to say as long as you want Dex and int a ysoki make just as strong str based solder as a Korasha lashuntas.

So I think the reason there are more than one check you can use is both flavor and the developers not wanting to pigeonhole anyone. From a power point of view having any stat higher than Dex seems less then stellar. I know there are people out there who are going to have OP with Max str, wis, int, chr and for those snowflakes they will still get to use trick attack well as anyone thanks to the options .

Still think you are reading to much into this. But seeing as you are rolling Vs the trick attack DC I still think this is use the skill (bonus) to make the trick attack check. Think it's to hard to figure out when you can and can not use skills to make trick attack work and that seems less fun.

My read is this when doing a trick attack you pick a skill that works with TA so Bluff, Intimidate, or Stealth check (or a check associated with your specialization). You use that skill modifier Vs the Dc. That's it don't over think it the trick attack gives you ever step you need to do to use the ability

You kind of cut the power of jet dash in half and called it crappy. Jet dash Benefit: When running, you move six times your land speed.

Whenever you jump, double the height and distance you can jump. While running, you don’t gain the flat-footed condition.

Don't look at it for just the run look at it for the jump need to make a 10 high jump to get on a walk way? Dc 20 (not easy at level one but Alot more likely than the dc 40

The big question is the line "These unarmed attacks don’t benefit from other abilities that apply specifically to unarmed attacks (such as the Improved Unarmed Strike feat)." so your unarmed attacks don't threaten or allow you to kick with the powerglove. That's how I read it. Yes you can get improved unarmed and than theater but your doing the importance unarmed damage

Quote "This is lame and power gamey, but legal RAW. It is the result of Paizo not taking things into account." sorry we will have to agree to disagree on this subject. I don't find it very power gamey to me to allow a auto success on your level 1 ability by level 7 and a game that's mid-to-late game for most people anyways. If my math is right that's about the time full attack out does trick attack anyway

Str based solder can do his best. Will he be the best? No not ever but he does not need to be. Everyone here is figuring on the Optimum Loadout, one mechanic, one Envoy, one operative will perfectly cover engineering Gunnery captain someone else recover piloting perfectly and nobody will have any flaws whatsoever. However on the off chance that your group composition does not have one of every perfect class the soldier can do his best and his best may just be as good as the mystics best or technomage

Makes you ask where all the player characters starting with a thousand credits got them doesn't it? Perhaps we should show them these numbers and they won't cry about not having nine weapons at level 1 ;)
