Just in time for the holiday season, DragonWing Games has released their newest Drop Zone encounter, Count Your Blessings. Count Your Blessings is a Drop Zone designed to test a party of adventurer's physical endurance to the weather elements and their mental fortitude while they make their way through the countryside towards their next destination. It starts out with a simple attack by a band of outlaws in the cold of night. However, the adventurers soon find out that something slightly more sinister is afoot as they journey to their destination. It will take every ounce of courage not to panic when they face their final challenge. If they survive, they will truly count their blessings and be quite thankful.

Adjustable for a standard party of adventurers from 4th to 6th levels although information is provided on how to scale the encounters for groups up to 12th level. Location is open fields, hills and woodland areas common to travel between towns and settlements.

Drop Zones: Count Your Blessings is a 26-page PDF that retails for $4.99.

What is a Drop Zone encounter?

A Drop Zone encounter is not an adventure in the usual sense, but is designed as a finite, independent area you can drop into most any campaign world. Each encounter is a geographic area that contains specific components, i.e. structures, events, creatures, items, effects, etc. All components are fully detailed along with several variations.

What a Drop Zone encounter doesn't have is a specific plotline, an expected outcome. How your PCs react to the components of the encounter or how the components react to the PCs isn't preordained. You are provided with numerous options and ideas to pick and choose from, all to help you mold this encounter towards your group's and your campaign's unique needs.

You can weave each Drop Zone into the storyline of your own home brew campaign or simply use each as a short diversion between adventures. Either way, Drop Zones are a quick and effortless way to spice up the more unremarkable portions of your campaign world. Remember to read the entire encounter and all additional information before attempting to run your players through it. Enjoy!

Love the book, it is exactly what I was looking for. However, is the errata available yet? I have noticed a few mistakes, like the feat Pantheistic Blessing, I cannot find the spell-like ability mentioned as the benefit anywhere in the book.

Yeah, this one vanished in the ether. In a nutshell, the spell-like ability is dependent upon the deity being worshiped. I would suggest that the domains be used as a guideline and GM be the arbitrator of the spell-like ability. For example, a worshiper of Hermes could gain Haste 1/day.

ok i bought the Lore of the Gods book and I like it ALOT BUT there is a chapter or two missing. I read that there was supposed to be a chapter for the gods of Pathfinder AND a chapter 11 where the listed the rules on giving mortals power to become gods. In the paragraph on page 9: Creating an Avatar it speaks of empowered mortals using an avatar template found in chapter 11. So where is the template? the book only goes to chapter 10 and the pathfinder gods chapter which was supposed to be chapter 6 is missing.

There was never going to be a chapter about the Pathfinder gods. I'm not sure where you read that. The rules for mortals becoming gods are included in chapter one. The Avatar template is in chapter ten. There was originally eleven chapters but we combined two of them and I missed that in editing. D'oh!

This. Our Pathfinder sales at Paizo.com are downright abysmal. Our Pathfinder sales at the Open Gaming Store passed Paizo.com a while ago.
Huh. So weird. 'Cuz almost without fail I won't buy an item if it's not available here.

I'll echo what Dale says. DragonWing makes more in overall sales at other online store sites than here. I'm even starting to see growing direct sales on the DragonWing online webstore (which makes me really happy). Every one of our releases are available here on the day they are released yet despite attempts at more of a social media presence here, there just isn't a lot of sales.

However, I will keep selling Pathfinder products here for as long as we continue to produce them. That also applies to the upcoming Starfinder goodies we have in the pipeline.

DragonWing Games will continue to develop material for "Classic Pathfinder" for the foreseeable future. Once we've had an opportunity to examine the new PF2E, we will likely support it also in both print and electronic formats. It all depends on how it is received and what the market dictates.

Thank you for leading off with the DragonWing Winter Sale.

Therefore, all DragonWing products are 50% off until February 18th. This includes the recently released Lore of the Gods PFRPG Edition. Books should be shipping from the printers around the end of next week. Distributors should be seeing them the week after that. :)

The books are in the hands of the printers. As soon as they come back, they will be shipped to distributors, which then are shipped to retail stores.

You should be able to go to your local store and preorder it to ensure that they are getting a copy.

If you want a hardback, very limited edition version, you'll have to order from the DragonWing online store. All orders for the limited edition will have to be placed by October 31st. It retails for $70.00 and will not be available for purchase through distribution/retail channels due to the small number being printed (we're talking less than 25 or so copies most likely). There will only be one and only one printing of the limited edition. Once they are sold out, it will not be available again. And before anyone scoffs right away, we have already received several purchases/orders so we're not completely out of our minds.

Throwing this out just once to remind anyone wanting the LE hardcover they have less than 24 hours to preorder.

Now, having said that, I have no qualms that the standard softcover will hold up in gameplay. I received a print proof copy over the weekend and there were minor issues that indicates it was just a bad printing and not something in the file itself. A second copy is being rushed to me to see if it really was a bad print copy. Regardless, any issues will be fixed and we are still on track to a November release date.

Thank you, Shazz. Once you actually get a look at the preview it is easy to understand just exactly how much work went into it and why $27.99 is a fair price.

For folks that may still be on the fence or saying no strictly because of cost, I urge you to take the time to see the preview and then hopefully reconsider.

The print copy will be $49.99 so you also understand why the pdf is priced at $27.99.

Tomorrow I will post a preview that contains chapters 1 and 2. That ought to give everyone a good true sense of what the book is about and how it looks more than the preview at Drivethru. This is the first supplement for the Pathfinder game (that we know of) that provides alternative deities for the Golarion setting (or maybe your own setting). The mythologies are in-depth and cover a lot of deities for each of the pantheons. We've already received positive comments from our Kickstarter backers that are very encouraging.

I know the price is a sticking point for some, but considering the amount of content and work put into the book, it is well worth the price (both pdf and print).

The print copy comes as a full-color softcover and will retail at $49.99. It will be on store shelves early to mid-November.

If you want a hardback, very limited edition version, you'll have to order from the DragonWing online store. All orders for the limited edition will have to be placed by October 31st. DragonWing Games has launched the Kickstarter to the long-anticipated Lore of the Gods for Pathfinder. Lore of the Gods: PFRPG Edition brings together deities and pantheons from Egyptian, Greek, Mesopotamian, and Norse mythologies.

Nice to see you back. Looking forward to an updated Arms and Armor and the Encyclopedia Magica. How much of the Bastion Press product reverted back to Jim Butler?

All Bastion Press titles here and on DriveThru reverted back to Jim Butler. The only exception to that is Lore of the Gods on DriveThru. That title remained a DragonWing product.

Quemius wrote:

I took a look, and I like the descriptions. But I want to be honest with you...

I noticed they are not converted for use with Pathfinder. Why is that? You're offering these on Paizo's site, but they are not compatible? After all these years?

While there are folks out there that can convert it for their own use, newer players probably won't know how. When I look at 3rd-party products, I look for the Pathfinder logo.

Currently, the only Pathfinder compatible book we have is Critical Hits: Torn Asunder. However, both Well of the Twice born and Darkwalkers: The Evil Within were written under the OGL and can easily be used in any Pathfinder game. While you may prefer only those product with the Pathfinder logo, there are others who are not as selective or looking for something to add to their game hence why they are included in the sale.

Another reason why there is such a gap in years is the fact that I have been dealing with the after effects of a major traumatic brain injury for the last three years, which has put a huge damper on the ability to get product out. It's been a long road.

Right now, we are finishing up the Pathfinder version of Lore of the Gods which should be out in pdf sometime in the next couple of months. After that, we will release Arms & Armor (Pathfinder) and Encyclopedia Magica (Pathfinder) along with some small pdf releases.

Out of curioity, how come Lore of the Gods is listed here on Paizo as a book by Bastion Press (and therefore not part of this offer) but at One Book Shelf they say it is a DragonWing Games book?

Lore of the Gods was released under the Bastion banner. I used to have control of Bastion sales. That reverted back to Jim Butler last year. I am currently finishing up the Pathfinder version of Lore of the Gods. It should be released within the next couple of months.

I received notification on 10/28 that my Golem sale order (526768) was being shipped. However, I was very surprised to find out that it was being shipped to an address that I hadn't occupied in 4 years and not the one that I entered when I filled out all of the fields. As a result, the contents of my package is now on their way to a place over an hour away.

If my residential changes can be tracked easily enough for royalty payments, then the expectations for product orders should be the same. I expect this situation to be corrected within a reasonable amount of time.

Thank you.

What YOU need to do is convince us that YOU are an excellent freelancer with something we would be interested in. That's up to you.

Clark says it perfectly. As a publisher, WE are interested in quality proposals that are focused and not something that everyone else is doing. For example, we wouldn't really be looking for a supplement that is about gunslingers for Pathfinder unless it was something that expanded upon what it already there in Ultimate Combat (or the class from KQ) rather than try to replace it.

We are NOT looking for something that is "better than <insert your favorite game system> in every way." I can't even begin to tell you the number of times we have heard this and then were promptly proved the exact opposite by being given a manuscript that was poorly written, not spellchecked, and playtested only by the author's gaming group.

Having said that, if I haven't scared folks away, DragonWing Games is now looking for quality submissions and proposals from individuals who are very intimate with Pathfinder and its rules, can write cohesively and hit a deadline.
