Background:
Starwatcher has always been a curious bird. Hatched to a noble owl mother and an ordinary owl father, as soon as he fledged Starwatcher took to exploring and observing the forest. Yet in spite of his curiosity, the owl is rarely known to ask questions, or even to speak much, prefering to learn by quiet observation.

Perhaps this is why he one day found a human traveling through the forest. One who was exceptionally quiet, who seemed to take their time to look around and see the world around them. Curious, Starwatcher kept track of them, watching them between their other activities.

On the third day of following them, she spoke to him. While surprised the human had seen him, Starwatcher's curiosity was such that he replied. In the quiet conversation that followed, the human taught him of the Black Butterfly, and soon enough Starwatcher had decided that her teachings were just how he wished to live.

Since that time Starwatcher has continued his quiet exploration of the world, now with a small carved amulet around his neck showing his devotion to the Black Butterfly.
