Male Human

"Well in that case I'm not sure if that much of a disguise is necessary, after all it seems likely that my Benevolent fund might be part financier of such a production, as well as being a sound connection to East End establishments which might then host the event... so no doubt someone with such a vested interest in the affair would be keen to ensure the idea was sound and not some flight of fancy of more creative chaps, hence my insistence of being there at the start of the endeavour eh?"

Male Human

"Should be easy enough to stop by for some more pedestrian clothing, I am sure there would be a likely shop nearby the East End offices that might have a few suitable orders of dress"

Male Human

"Think I have been in worse positions, wasn't much more flash in the trenches. Let's make our plans and head forth"

Male Human

"Then we are settled? Back to the asylum. Lets try get to the bottom of this whole business, it has piqued my curiosity"

Male Human

"Or a couple of Detectives from the Yard perhaps..." Spencer lets the thought trail off.

Male Human

"I agree, I would like to get to the bottom of the matter. There's just been too much going on, and we need to find out whom is behind it all, whether it has been some odd opiation of the disturbed or some other Machiavellian scheme we should find out what the devil its all about"

"Suppose the asylum is worth a revisit, think this time the questions might need to be a little more pointed"

Male Human

"Yes he has rather disappeared as though into thin air. Similarly our dinner with our good friend Mr Estus didn't really turn over much new, I feel rather as though we have exhasuted our chase... there seems to be a lot of small morsels of interest around, yet a noticeable lack of anything one could sink their teeth into"

Male Human

"Well sounds like a nice evening to be had, we should head over as soon as practicable. I shall get a fresh change of clothes and we can head there upon my return"

Should nothing else occur, Spencer will get changed, then head off with Martin to enjoy the cordial invitation.

Male Human

Thinking thinking thinking... have we missed any loose ends?

Male Human

Indeed, somewhat stumped for a clear course. Interesting information popping up, but no clear application...yet.

Male Human

Think we are just going to have to drop it in there... maybe we can say we were up that way on an excursion and noted the Sign?

Male Human

Was considering it, then started thinking better of the idea :p

It's you, Michael Gillen, Talbot Estus and Martin. So, you know everyone at the table.

OK wasn't sure if more were joining us, or at least hanging around in the room - ie Mrs Hawke... so just watching in case someone other than Talbot all of a sudden started looking askanse at Quarries name

Male Human

Spencer simply notes the faces at the table, perhaps one there might betray some recognition...

Roll - 1d100 ⇒ 15

Thats whatever skill pretty much met :p

Male Human

"Why a famous roast is never something the astute gentleman passes up, even if that fame is simply confined to a hallway and a living-room" Spencer continues the joke and builds camaraderie.

"Well I suppose I'd be quite keen to have a look at the works once they move to completion, you'll have to indulge me with an early copy eh?"

Spencer moves with the group to dinner.

Male Human

"Well it is certainly a body of work, although might need a bit of tailoring for a...wider appeal. So this Yellow Sign business, from where did you derive the inspiration? I was originally thinking it must be some sort of fancy from the Congo or other mysterious far-off land, but your visions seem rather lucid, as though more recollection than dream. So Mr Estus, what is your source of inspiration?"

Male Human

"well lets find out where Mr Estus might be keeping the old stage sets from the cancelled play, and maybe where he might be working on new materials... reckon some of our actor fellows might have a lead worst case"

Spencer will try chase up a lead per the above, lets start working out whats going on here, and how come there seem to be connections between the sign and random murdering nutcases

Male Human

"Perhaps we try find out a bit more about this Yellow Sign business then. I'll wager we might go have a look at what Mr Estus might have been working on and we will come across more of the Sign caper, and perhaps get some idea as to why it keeps coming up in our travels"

Male Human

"Yes he does seem rather stiff eh? Where to now? This Quarrie lead seems to be a bit of a troubleseome one."

Male Human

Spencer finishes his cigarette at the motorcar, then wanders in to join Martin, apologising for his momentary absence.

"Please excuse the delay, I have had a bit on my mind of late and just needed a moment to reflect. Please, carry on..."

Male Human

"Well that rather scotches that idea, did he by chance leave any personal effects or the like prior to departure? Any idea if the neighbours are still the same?"

Martin Poole wrote:
Good day, Spencer," Martin says when he picks up. "I think I might have located Quarrie. Interested in meeting up with me to see if we can have a chat with him?"

Spencer is rather perturbed by Jeans condition, and relieved to hear from his friend...

"I think that would be a pretty worthwhile idea, lets get underway at once. I could use the distraction"

Male Human

Spencer is saddened by this news and has a fine tea and flower arrangement sent around to Jean from Harrods.

"How dire, I hope she gets well soon..."

Clearly he was hoping for the joy of her company to offest the latest darkness.

Male Human

1d100 ⇒ 55 v 30

Spencer is still rather caught in thought on the more recent 'troubles', never being a vocational accountant, his rough skills aren't serving him well that moment.

Male Human

"Well I'll be off to drop by Miss Jean, a nice dinner perhaps and a friendly wander. Might be some fresh news about Estus too...or any other developments since we have been away. Mind you I half suspect some meddlesome buffoon might have found his way in to try his hand in my absence, but I suppose I will see soon enough eh?"

Okay, Victor can go and research the star.

Someone may want to check on Estus.. I guess.

Spencer can go check on Estus, of course that is after he calls on the delightful Jean... perhaps she might bring him up to speed as well if she has more current news.

Male Human

"Well that is a curious turn of events indeed, so many odd questions and so many odd events... either way Roby is quite clearly a problem"

Male Human

Idea 1d100 ⇒ 95

Spencer is clearly a bit tired, and can't seem to connect the dots.

"I seem to have picked up that file rather by accident; I will be sure to mail it back to Mr Reeves upon our return..."

Male Human

Spencer hops into the car, keen to get moving...

"Well that was all very interesting, and at least oddly curious, what do you fellows think of all that?"

Male Human

Spencer gathers up the file as though being helpful - pocketing the police report as he does so...

"I think someone may have dropped this" he offers cheerfully.

"Oh is that Lucian done, we really need to get going...so Mr Reeves, would you be so kind as to continue to show us to the door... theres a good chap"

Spencer keeps up the charade, hoping to keep the man preoccupied.

Male Human

Library use.1d100 ⇒ 17 V 50

"Ahhh indeed terribly difficult to navigate these areas" Spencer turns the men away from the papers innocently "Perhaps you could show my colleague the way for a moment? we are looking to get going and I'd hate to see us now lost once again in these hallways? there's a good chap, very obliging, see you out the front eh?" Spencer gives an encouraging nudge and wave, tapping the other mister Reeves on the shoulder in the direction of the toilets.

Fast Talk 1d100 ⇒ 37 V 45

If the man leaves with Lucian, Spencer will abscond with the file.

Male Human

Can I see what the folder is titled at this point?

Spot Hidden 1d100 ⇒ 68 V 55

If not Spenser might have to borrow it...

Male Human

Luck 1d100 ⇒ 45

Spencer and his streetwise nous shines through...perhaps the stars aligned?

Lucian McAllistair wrote:
I think Lucian and Spencer are going to keep their ears open on their way out of the administration building, focusing on finding out a little about the 'violent incident' that just occured.

Indeed, a little snooping...!

Male Human

"Understandable enough, what with this horrid weather, warmers indoors than out eh?"

After a moments pause, Spencer continues...

"Well lets have a last look about before leaving eh?"

Male Human

"Well only as much as any Englishman has an appreciation for small birds, why what is it you have seen?"

Spencer looks about and tries to follow Lucians gaze.

Male Human

"Well I might have gone to boarding school, but I was never one to participate in the fineries of Wildes tastes, but these people can think what they like... I'm rather fond of getting to the truth of a matter and can't but help feel they aren't being on the level with us"

Male Human

Spencer joins up with Lucian "A quick look about eh? Never know what we might find; I'm an avid reader and amateur at all this caper, so its rather interesting to me to get out in the field and see whats what"

Male Human

Nice recap, I had missed a few of those points (or rather they had slipped my mind!)

Male Human

"Yes a quick look around might be in order, would hate to find out later we missed something important."

***

"A most generous offer my good man, we will be finished here presently and then would be delighted top take up such an offer, where should we come to meet you when we are ready?"

Male Human

Spencer does his best in giving supporting nods to affirm Martins position, although he does stop to hear about whether there may be news forthcoming about patterns or behaviours.

Psychoanalysis 1d100 ⇒ 23 v 31
Indeed some patients may be afflicted by such vagaries as the changing of the seasons, weather, or even the phase of the moon. Have you noted any such things that may have arisen? Perhaps a set of dates we could then match back to an Ephemeris?

Male Human

"Could be, or perhaps another patient? perhaps the pseudonym or imagined persona of a fellow patient?"

Male Human

"Exactly as my fellows say. It has taken root and showing itself to be a bit of a new phenomenon, and not a good one"

Male Human

"Some craze we have witnessed lately, seems to be some devilish fixation that has plagued certain members of the artistic community in London, all based around the works of some playwright, or perhaps he based his works upon the fixation, not sure. Either way it has borne out in random acts of violence from otherwise rational appearing folk"

Male Human

"Well it is certainly some kind of strange folklore, although I profess to know little about it other than it seems to be connected with some other abberant behaviour in London lately... I am not an expert, but the man seems to have the same morbid fixation."

Male Human

"I have to say I agree most certainly with my colleague here. An astute observation and capital recommendation"

Male Human

1d100 ⇒ 94

Spencer can't hear either.

Male Human

Similarly Spencer prepares his own coat, ready for the omslaught of chill air.

"Well I take it we are all agreed that the patient could do with staying in permanent care and a full time facility?"

Male Human

"Yes well I found it all a rather pleasant stay, I appreciate a chance to get away from the London lights once in a while."

Male Human

"Firmly Martin, firmly."
