In the tunnels "See this is a pretty easy to spot trip wire." He takes a moment to disable it. Then moves forward carefully. "If I had just jumped over I would have gone into a pit trap. That wasn't there last time." He carefully disables the other traps moving forward at a slow pace. it takes 2 hours to get there. You can hear talking. "With that announcement our plans to keep a low profile untill the 3 return is ruined. We should act now!' "No they gave clear instructions not to do anything until they got back."
"Well they have some way of dealing with the traps ether one the women you set the traps or someone adept at disabling them. I have heard the general profile of the cultists we don't really have adultery seeing as we don't really have marriage at least officially." He shakes his head
"I know those tunnels. They're a honeytrap." He see at your blank looks. He seems embarrassed "Sometimes I forget you aren't Kobolds. Sometimes females put there eggs somewhere and surround them with traps. Sort of a dare. In any case if they are meeting there they must have someone to deal with the traps."
"I would expect a guerrilla type army mostly. After all she commands a hoard of fine trap makers. Mostly the "kingdom" has only been growing down. I've heard some concerns that they will hit the underdark soon if they haven't already. If you wanted more detailed information then you should have made me the spymaster like I asked."
In the month of Kuthona SootScale goes over to Riva. He holds up a picture of an absurdly large buckle, made even more absurd by the fact that it’s crafted in the shape of a smiling weasel’s face.
"Could you craft this for me I have the monies"
"I went with a group of men to arrest him. He immediacy started screaming about oppression. Some things he said were
"bloody bards" "Oh, what a giveaway! Did you hear that? Did you hear that, eh? That's what I'm on about! Did you see him repressing me? You saw him, didn't you?" "Then he hit my men with some spell that made them go all mello well he rilled up the crowd" "Then he managed to get a few people in the crowd to help defend him." "He paralyzed me with laughter and greased the ground to make my men fall down looking like fools. Made it look like I was laughing at them." "He got away. Maybe we could have gotten him if we were allowed to use more force. As it was it was all we could do to stop a riot afterwards"
No "A Green dragon has moved into [Hex D38]. A lot of Koblods are going there to join her. Hell , 6 months ago I would be going over to join her. I can't compete with a dragon." Nobility get some: Apparently Lady Greengrass out grew the area she lived in and heard that the greenbelt was actually become a good place to live with a kingdom solid enough to provide the comforts of civilization but too weak for her to have to worry about. Also alot of Kobolds to serve her. After all that the Gold Mine was a bonus.
Though we've gone quite far, this is still a dangerous land. At some point I will need to expose her so she can learn to better fend for herself. All Kobolds face danger. As far as they are conserved danger is unavoidable. However Kobolds also tend to be carful as well and children are usually expected to be able to decide what is worth risking by the time they are 1 year old. She should be well-versed in kobold culture. I don't want her feeling apart from her own people just because she lives here at the library. Are there any important cultural events in a kobold's life, such as a holiday, tradition, or test or trial to become an adult? If so, what are they?
Who are the longest lived kobolds known to have existed? What may have contributed to their longer life spans?
What do kobolds generally eat during all stages of their life? What is required for them to grow strong and healthy?
What are the general courtship and mating rituals of kobolds?
Within 2 hours of the searches beginning Sootscale come back with Tarka Firefang held by the scruff of the neck with the books in other hand. He looks at little chard around the edges and more then a little embarrassed. "She thought they would teach her how to use magic." She start crying. "You might want to do a little easy on her she's only 8 months old. Don't you remember that age?"
"We kobolds always grow like this when not dieing in droves. My grandfather's grandfather told him that the Sootscale tribe used to cover the area all the way to the radish patch. Of course then alot of troll and owlbears moved in and started eating us. The mites moved into the area. And the bandits started hunting us for sport." Sootscale seems to cheer up then "But things are a lot better now. All because of the wise rule of Chief Sootscale! And I guess you guys might have something to do with it as well"
