Warforged ranger (archery combat style) using a crossbow: Condescending Query:do I need to clarify this one, master?

A "Drunken Master" idea for you. Only 1 actual Monk level, the other 3 in Barbarian. Take the Throw Anything and Catch Off Guard feats. Beat people to death with empty wine barrels in a drunken rage.

For Ideas on the ethereal forms, you should check out the Master of Shadows from tome of magic, although I think that that and shape shifting would be more of evolutions (spell-like abilities even).

The only one I really think is missing is an avian base
Bird Base
Starting statistics: Size Medium; Speed 30 ft, Fly 30 ft (Good); AC +2 natural armor; Saves Fort (poor), Ref (Good), Will (good); Attacks 2 claws (1d4); Ability Scores Str 12, Dex 16, Con 13, Int 7, Wis 10, Cha 11; Free Evolutions Claws, Fly, Limbs (legs)

The only problem is, they get an ability before they should (Fly requires lv. 5)

I think the Fly evolution is too expensive, personally. I mean both the Summoned monster List and Familiar list have Flying creatures on them at first level. Oh and Animal Companion too.

I was just thinking about how to use the Eidolon to duplicate some of the more unusual creatures we have wandering the planes when I realized there is no option for a geometric base form or an amorphous one.

While I work on those, does anyone have any other forms you think should be added to the Eidolon list?

If I were the DM, I would rule that the components needed to make your potions would be common enough that no extra role-playing would be required. Just deduct the GP cost and assume you either harvested, paid for, or bartered for the required stuff at some point.

Then, if the PC wanted to juice up his/her potions, he/she could add some exotic component whose effect would be determined on a case-by-case basis by the DM. Of course, the PC is always free to pitch an idea to me. A troll's liver enhances a potion of healing, a pint of red dragon blood adds one spell level to the power of the potion, etc.

Best of both worlds. You aren't hung up on the need for exotic components on a daily basis, but there's still the option there for cool quests, etc.

I GM most of my games and that's similar to what I do.

But instead of boosting magic items, I allow the player to use exotic components as replacement for gold. i.e. I work out what and equivalent cost of creating/finding it would be.

Your trolls liver for example, I'd rule it to be worth 10gp in potion making components so if the PCs ran into a troll (and the PC knew the potion formula), I'd let them harvest it to offset the cost of a future potion.

There is a feat somewhere, I forget where, the gives you a ki pool like a monk that lets you penetrate certain types of damage reduction.

Sure it's powerful but it costs so many evolution points and you have to have boost charisma so much that it's really not very impressive at the level you get it. Yes you have a nice, very flexible power you can use 3 times a day, but you aren't very good at anything else. You've burned almost half your evolution points and a bunch of your ability score increases. You are as powerful as an eidolon 2/3 your level except you can do this one really cool thing 3 times a day.

And still have all the other spells/abilities.

I'd play this character to use his Summon Monsters and buffs to party members more than the eidolon.
Keeping the eidolon more as a scout/general helper until the special abilities are needed.
I see the Summoner as more a support class than a front line specialist.

Why? After the huge resource investments such a trick requires (in evolution points), after you take into account the huge Pathfinder nerfs to the wish spells, and after you realize you can only get this trick at really high levels where there are better tricks anyways, then you just mist also realize that your one trick pony of a build isn't so broken...or even great.

Casting any 6th level wizards spell or the level non wizard spell as needed 3 times a day isn't powerful?

Or coming up with any equivalent effect?
And this is for free mind you. No 1,500 gp cost involved.

Then you get to 18th level, where it's any 8th level sor/wiz or any 7th level non-sor/wiz for free.
I'd consider that pretty powerful.

To be honest I'm tempted to play one just so I can make a 'genie' eidolon and sell wishes...

Well he gets summon monster 9 as a spell like ability usable Cha Mod + 3 times per day at level 18... so I think he will be spamming them.

I don't know if this has been mentioned but once the Summoner hits 12th level he can give his Eidolon Limited Wish 3 times per day as spell like abilities.

And full Wish 3 times a day at 18th level.

I hope that's been errata'd.
