Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Sorry for not saying anything. I am no longer going to play. Dain for some reason you simply make me angry. I was so upset last week I almost took a day of sick leave. I really do not see this clash just fixing itself anytime soon, so I take my leave. Have a great game.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Have fun with the lighting bolts sparking off massive methane explosions!

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

I am not sure any more I think I am going nuts. I will just read up in the morning. I would really like to find my horses.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Yes, I am posting this here I cannot use my email right now.

This is pointless chaotic craziness. The time line is going around in circles, and I have 100% no idea what is going on with it.

Smendor went up the path for 25minutes the sun has not gone down. He got off his horse, and went on up the path a while, and started a small fire with his tender box. The sun should be out at this time. It should have taken him no longer than a minute or two to pull a tuft of grass out of his box to light it on fire. He did take the time to wet down a blanket so we will go with 3 minutes. At this time the sun has now been down for a total of let’s say 3 minutes. He then walks back to his horse to get them due to the fact it should be safe, but for some reason the sun has went down, and it is now well after 8pm. The entire process that Smendor was working on should have taken no longer than 12 minutes, and the time should be 6:42 or very early dusk. So if you can tell me where almost 1.5 hours went I will be more than happy to acknowledge the outcome you have presented.

Those numbers could be a little off, but Smendor wanted to get a camp going with a fire before the sun was fully down. You said less than 30 minutes before sun down. Please shift the time as needed to address the need for the camp to be done before the area was fully dark.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Smendor will get on the horse for 4 rounds so he can get back to where his own animals are at.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Smendor is going after his own horse. They are on the path so the other have past them.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Smendor will get on the horse and move away from the smoke.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Smendor will make his way down to his horses.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Fort Save:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Die ya long monster
Fire: 3d4 ⇒ (4, 2, 1) = 7
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Damage:1d10 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Smendor goes with the same attack sequence.
Fire: 3d4 ⇒ (2, 4, 4) = 10
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Damage:1d10 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

Hahah burn burn burn

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

The fire did not go boom so I will use my shield.
Fire: 3d4 ⇒ (3, 1, 4) = 8
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Damage:1d10 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

The attack must hit for the Grab to take effect.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Initiative Roll: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
I am not sure why you are asking for this again.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Init:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Semndor first yells at the trees, " Go back to sleep you stupid animals I will not be all that good to eat! Smednor is also making all kind of noise.

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

The second the fire is going and there was not explosion Smendor will go back down the path to get the horses. He only wanted to make sure they where safe while he was lighting the fire. When he gets his horse back to the fire he will unload his gear which should include a volume of fire wood and he builds the fire up nice and big.

Smendor is going to walk back up the same path they all came in on. The very first time he finds an area that seems to have less of this explosive swamps gas Smendor will start making camp. If he never find an area with less swamp gas while following the same path he will simply stop when the sun is nearly down, so he traveled no more than 25 minutes.

By the way high levels of explosive gas fall into the dangerous category. I think the group should have stopped to re-think their plan when they found the area to be so dangerous. That was the stipulation Smendor added when he said it would be a good idea to travel that way.

This can be done, walking up the same basic trail, at least until it is dark. As you are currently walking (did you bring your horses, by the way), you are traveling at your basic move speed, of roughly 20 feet. In this terrain you would have moved (roughly) about a mile up the trail from your friends.

As for the swamp gas, you are clearly uncertain what is up. You are a warrior, not a wilderness scout. Divining swamp gas, poisonous or explosive, is not something you are trained in. At best, you can make a guess at what is out there, but only at best.

As a warrior, the only thing you are completely sure about is that you are making camp in the middle of an animal track in the middle of the swamp, in the middle of the night, alone, and far from your friends. It may be that if you get a torch going nothing will happen. Then again, there may be something that WILL happen. You don't really know.

There is also possibilities that snakes (poisonous or otherwise) could be out here, as well as other vermin that are eager to drink blood or pass disease.

Well, regarding "dangerous" as a stipulation... that is a pretty broad term. Right now, the person engaged in the most dangerous activity is you specifically, as you are in the middle of no where, and so far I don't think you have your horses, as you never mentioned bringing them, you...

Smendor will have all his gear, and animals. If I wish to drop part of that gear along the path I will note that it has been removed.

After traveling for 25 minutes Smendor has not found anything he really thinks is safe, but he is not going to travel in the dark. He will look for the most acceptable location to make this camp. A large tree, or open dry area would be best.

Smendor does have Survival so I am not sure why you keep saying he has no idea how to get along in the wild. If you want me to toss that skill I can.

He will than fan the area with the 4square yards of silk for a short time to remove any of this gas he was told about.

Smendor will tie off his horses 400 feet down the trail to make sure they are safe.

He will cover his body in wet cloth and spark a small fire in an area that could be defended if needed.

I need to get on with sleep for tonight. I will jump on in the morning to see how it works out.

Smendor is leaving

No worries.

Where do you go, and in what direction? That is, what is your ultimate goal; back to the temple, to the statue of Erestil, or just simply riding off in a random direction. When you have established where specifically you plan on traveling, please give me Survival roll to find your way.

Are you mounted at this time, or leading your horse? Pleas let me know as this could mean a Ride check as well. Also, do you tell anyone where you are going?

He just want to make camp outside the explosive area before the sun is fully down and there is no light or method of creating light. If that distance cannot be covered in a short amount of time than there is no reason to leave, and we need to use the building full of dead men as a defensive base.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Smendor is leaving

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Please Ariarh wait for the group to conclude what needs to be done.

We need to get away from this area so we can have a bloody fire. You are talking about the gas and night without thinking about staying warm or having the power to see when their is no moon. Sure if you want to stay in the dark with no fire go for it, but I plan to make my way back up the way for a short distance than make a fire where there is less gas.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

I think we need to leave and leave fast.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

With the morning will come a very cold night, and we will have a better chance of getting our job done right.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

So by the time we get this all done it will be near dark, and we will need to stay in this area for the night. If we are not going to do this right today than lets us leave while we have the chance and come back in the morning and do it right.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

If the rest of you wish not lay these men to rest in a right way than so be it leave, but I plan to do this right, and I do not see pulling down the building around them as that way.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Now what is wrong with an explosion. The building has a foundation it will hold back the heat for a time so we can leave the area.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

If we cannot burn them as they lay I would like to move them. Being left to decay under an old stone building is not a proper way to go. Yes fire is crude, but it is clean.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Smendor thinking, there is no reason for a man to take the time to defile this place. It is already heavily stricken with filth and decay. It makes no sense for anyone to even come here.

Smendor will walk back to Hermia, “I have a question for you. Why are these men here? Yes some evil monster may want to taint the area due to the stature down the way, but that really makes no sense the place is already nothing more than a rotten haven for evil. If there is no reason for the men to be here than we must be looking in the wrong place, or asking the wrong questions.

What of this creature do you know anything about their kind?

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

While Smendor walks around the area he is also thinking and looking for answers.

Question:

We have a room of dead men, but does his area look like it was the home of anything. The buildings seems older, but are their signs that would prove those dead men had been living in the area. If they have only been dead a few days there would be an area where fires have been and food cooked. There could even be a area where fresh game had been put down.

Where was their camp located?

Where they living in those dilapidated buildings that cannot hold back the rain?

He want to really ingest the full picture of what he is looking at.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Smendor knows the chance is small, but while he is looking around for wood to burn he will also take the time to look for any tracks. He want to know where to find the monsters that have done such a thing.

Does that creature know what way these men may have went. The trail will be old but I would like to know what way they went.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Knowledge Engineering: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Smendor makes his way over to the stone building to address the seen he has been told about. Knowing what is in the room Smendor will place a large face size length of cloth around the lower part of his face to cut the smell.

"This be a bad thing to see", standing back at the door as he moves into the room. "I have seen other creatures do such things, and to see this hear is a dark day."

Smendor will inspect the volume of wood inside the room, "This place will not be the home of anyone. It must be given back to the wilds so it can be cleansed of this taint. I wish not say these words, but we should stack the building with lumber from the surrounding area and burn what is left of the place into nothingness. Their flesh is has gone to a point we really cannot move them.

Smedor takes a time of silence.

Please give each of them last rights, and I will get started finding lumber.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Seeing that no real danger has presented itself. Smendor will move up and ask Brett from distance, Should I move the horses up or simply guard them?

I floated a river over the weekend, and really did not sleep that much so I crashed last night. I am around now.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Check for the armor.
Craft Armor: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Int:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

The temple age.
Knowledge Engineering:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

We need to take a look, but if we find danger we must stop to re-think our plan

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

I just got back from my little trip. I need to read a lot before I can say anything.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Does this armor have some kind of advanced quality. It does not seem to show the normal marks of usage. It almost seems unnatural.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Smendor does the best he can to mimic Alaric's voice, "Now where is that man servant I requested I need my bed turned down so I can rest my weary bones."

Before going to sleep Semndor will go down to the water and have a quick wash.

He will tend to his horses (2).

He will be using his own tent which will be placed near to his horses.

Good night

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Seeing that the others where going to really build a true base Smendor would pull out his shovel, and get to work on helping.

Good I like a little more of a defensible camp.

Smendor will dress down until he only has a light tunic and pants, and really gets going with the work at hand.

I need to do stuff like this more often. All this riding on a horse is making my muscles weak.

The others can see Smendor is in very nice shape.

He will keep working until the work is finished, and everyone is done.

I can take watch more into the dark of night. It will take the evil a while to get here, and I want to be up, and around when it arrives.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Smendor goes about making a fire and walking the outer rim of the camp like he has done in the past.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

I agree with you Alaric, but making sure we all live to make the request seems to have greater worth. Digging a deep water well is worthless if you die of heat exposure before the task is done.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Morning is always safer! One of you numskulls would fall into a hole or something if we went walking around in an old temple in the middle of the night. Sure we can have a torch or one those light spells you have but, that really does not give enough true light to be safe.

turning and speaking to Ry, "Sure the man in black was looking for a healer, but why did he need Dasha? I have been thinking the man needed her for some kind of dark ceremony. I think that was what that paper was talking about from the river fort.

FYI I am still waiting to hear back from half of you when we can do our next "potential" battle... assuming there is any... which is most likely probably not going to happen; you'll all just go visit a deserted temple in the woods; a little social RP... bippity-boppity-Alakazam! Raise Dead! No, combat is pretty unlikely... But IF it happens, when is a good time?

So far I am hearing this Thurday, 9:00 PM Eastern Standard time as our best time to meet on Skype and MapTools. Gan, if you don't have either of these things, send an email out to Alaric (imimrtl@gmail.com) and he can walk you through it.

I live in Eastern Standard time, so that's when I set my time/dates on via battle maps.

If this will be a complication for anyone, or if it will not work, please let me know soon. I hope to make this work, and am excited to see it happen. If I don't hear from you by then, I will be forced to NPC your character. You will get partial credit for combat XP, not full credit. If that is still a problem for you, for personal reasons (for example) as you want to play but simply can't; we can work something out for "extra credit" XP.

Naturally, this assumes there is even a battle, I am sure things will be just fine... It's more of a "just in case"...

;)

I am cool with that time.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

So I have been thinking about the crazy girl the man in black was going after. What in the world is wrong with that one.

I have a few ideals about her but I am just not sure any more.

cool cool so for armor he is more or less doing a chain shirt. +4 AC light armor.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

What kind of gear does Gan have, and what does he look like?

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Speaking to Alaric"Good ya are getting a little rougher. I may just turn you into something worth keeping."

From this point on if we can stay away from danger it would be a good ideal to stay away from danger. There are times ya really cannot help it, but putting yourself in danger by walking into the forest to save time was not all altogether very wise. I love a good game of chance, but when ya have a simple choice of walking into a forest fire, or walking around a forest fire it will always be a better move to go around.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Smendor makes sure he can see the others and the other can see him

I AM NOT GOING BACK INTO THAT STRANGE FOREST. I SAID, I DID NOT WANT TO GO. YOU THINK A FEW DRINKS OF CHEEP GRAPE JUICE WILL ALLOW USE TO PASS WITH EASY. NO, NO, NO, I WILL NEVER GO BACK INTO THAT AREA. THE FLIPPING TREES LOOKED LIKE THEY WANTED TO EAT USE.

Smendor’s arms are flying all over the place as he drones an about how much he hates that forest.

TALKING BIRDS, CRAZY FOREST MEN, WALKING TREES, SMOKE THAT MAKE YA SEE THINGS THAT AREA NOT REALLY THERE, AND ALL THAT OTHER CRAZY NONSENSE. I AM FULLY SURPRISED I DO NOT HAVE A FOOT GROWING OUT OF MY FOREHEAD.

AND LOOK WHERE WE CAME out right in the exact place we would have come if we would have went around the spooky forest.

You can see Smendor is now done with his scream fest.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

A few other items.

Smendor will take a look at the breastplate Tessara Varial was using to identify if he can change it in a way that would allow him to use it. An item that could provide a good level of protection has been simply riding on a horse.

Smendor will also tell the other he is going to be using these other items that where on Tessara Varial horse when she left the group.

I see no reason to sell anything as I have already said so I will have these items with me while we travel. They could really come in handy. I do not own them I am simply taking items that could help.

Backpack, Masterwork (empty)
Flint and steel,
Grappling arrow
Rope, silk (50 ft.)
