![]() "Well, there does appear to be some alterations to personality, as Alexis, as described to us, was a sweet person. I do not believe anyone described her as a horses ass." The woman says matter of factly, eliciting a snort from the Paladin. "The chances of an accidental mirror portal are literally millions to one. It is the same chances of flipping a coin and it landing on it's edge." She steeples her fingers, and looks off over Alexis's head, as if imagining formulae in her head. "The chances of an accidental mirror portal, which behaved like a mirror portal, except it only reversed physical properties, and not mystical, soul, and mental properties would approximately the chance of that coin landing on it's edge... while in the middle of an earthquake, while in a farm house that was whirling around inside a typhoon." ![]()
![]() The priestess raises an eyebrow. "That was almost certainly a world gate, and an improperly completed one. From what you say, if it's true, the ritual you interrupted on your world was completed on ours. Disrupting it caused it to link to a similar place on another plane, and the strongest location to link to would have been a place where the ritual had been completed successfully." She purses her lips and looks off into space. "An improperly completed gate could act as a mirror, reflecting the world beyond into this one, and would result in what you speak of. Your heart would be on the right side, rather than the left side. Your scars would reverse, tattoo's, if any, would read backwards or be displayed backwards..." She turns her look to Alexis. "Oddly enough, this should have worked as well on your personality. One who was evil becomes good, one who is orderly becomes chaotic. It's actually the basis for many of the mirror clone spells that are so popular in stories." She pulls out a pair of glasses from her pocket and slides them on. The lenses are blue tinted, and tiny gems dot the frames. Kn(Arcana) DC 20:
They appear to be Glasses of Arcane Sight, but with some additional enchantments on them, judging by the additional gems, as each one gives off a slight glow when the glasses are put on "Tell me, were you evil yet orderly prior to arriving here?" ![]()
![]() "Lord Sir Kalvant Malranva 'tel Mintakia, Lord High Paladin of Iomodae, Senior Servitor of Iomodae, High Priest of Iomeodae in Ulastev, Order of the Phoenix, Champion of Ulastev, and a dozen other titles I could bore you with. I only interject because he tends to introduce himself as a simple Knight of the Church, and then confusion can occur later." A woman interjects as she enters. The robed woman was the one who caught the girl and took her back into the church earlier. "And I am High Priestess Sivalla Reville, of the Church of Pharasmae, I'm not quite as high ranked within my church as Lord Sir Kalvant, but you may be assured I am of sufficiently high rank to speak for all clergy of Pharasmae, including young Lineera there." She nods at Lineera, giving her a small smile. She takes a seat at the table. "The girl is resting again. I wish I knew how you do that Kalvant." ![]()
![]() Sivalla gasps, and then hugs Lineera. She holds her tightly a long time, and then finally speaks softly. "Lineera dearheart, you know that I regret my lack of trust. It was.. I am sorry, I have no excuse." She sighs, a tear tracking down her face. "I had no wish for you to give up a part of yourself. For you to feel empty." She pauses for a few moments, then continues. "You should not despair just yet, dearheart. You say you feel empty. Just like when you pull the air out of a room by teleporting something big, or by popping off a fireball, that lack of air pulls things in. I believe anything that's gone now is only temporary, and will be replaced by even better things. I'm sure the goddess has a plan." She leans in close and whispers. "You know what a sneaky devious conniving b~+!$ she is when she wants to be." The girl then giggles. ![]()
![]() Almost in perfect time with Calleus, Sivalla begins to chant as well. "Mother of Souls! Oh ye who shall judge us in death, we call on thee to help us judge in life! Pour forth your holy spirit for your Priestess, we beseech thee! Help us judge they wayward daughter while she is yet still alive!" And Sivalla also pours a flask of water, but hers is bone white. The sparkling water is the same however, and just as Callieus's shrine glowed with holy power, so does Sivalla's. The sounds of old bones rattling fills the air, and the specters of the dead march forth from the shrine, ghosts of priests and holy warriors march out, until they move through the Perdition's Point expedition, the ghostly specters adding to the hissing and smoke wherever they touch the group. spellcraft DC 17:
She cast a shrine enhanced Consecrate spell. Lineera: The ghosts faces change from neutral to disapproving as they approach Lineera, and the swat at her as if swatting away gnats. But their touch, while disapproving, holds not the pins and needle painful benediction of Erastil's light, and their touch, while uncomfortable in one way, is soothing of the pins and needle feeling in another. ![]()
![]() Sivalla's face is a mask of sorrow. "I.. I am unable to say, Lineera. You were my friend, and I want to believe you. But Sir Kalvant speaks truth, the taint is strongest on you and the old woman. The gnome, the man, and the warrior woman the least. If it was as you say, the gnome should be tainted more than any." ![]()
![]() Sivalla pales, but waves a hand. "Surely not, our little Lineera is surely not fully in line with our Mother, but she would not stoop to such evil things." Sivalla holds out her holy symbol, and chants. Spellcraft DC 10:
Sivalla casts Detect Evil As the woman stares at the group, however, her face goes bone white, and a look of horror and sadness fills her face. "By Pharasmae, oh my goddess... Lineera, what have you... what have you done?" Tears spring to her eyes as she looks at Lineera with a look of horror and utter sorrow. ![]()
![]() As the wagons draw near, another horse breaks free, and a half-elf woman trots up. She too wears holy garb, although her armor bears the symbol of Pharasmae, rather than Iomodae. Give you all that one for free, since Lineera wears it every day. "Kalvant, what ever are you doing? Oh, Lineera! We got your letter! Kalvant, that's Lineera, I told you she was a drow, why are you pointing a lance at her and her friends?" ![]()
![]() The half elf grins. "What it means, kid, is you're going to be Deck Crew on The Blade. It also means whenever we're going at less than cruising speed and you're on shift, you'll be flying about 500 ft above the ship on Overwatch Flight, looking for things sneaking up on us from below or behind and watching for things up ahead of us. It requires sharp eyesight, good flight capability, and speed. It's usually a halvavian posting, but you seem to be quick and responsive enough to pull it off." Then she walks up to Elorhir, and flicks him on the nose hard enough to sting. "And it's 'What's Overwatch Detail mean, Captain? Or Ma'am, or even Sir. Got it?" |
